        • +2

the original title had Duck spelt with F at the beginning in place of D.

        • @sandp:

          Fduck?

        • @Scab:

        • @ywaa1124:

      Too late, he's been rendered.

  • Are you really a chef?

How many say potato side dishes could you make with $3/200g?
Only asking cos all those hipster cafes and restaurants charge so much more cos they're "duck fat chips/potatoes".

    • Umm It tastes differnt with vegetable oil obviously

      • +4

        That didn't answer the question.

        • a lot. idk

          @ywaa1124:

No. The answer should be a number.

          @tightwad: sorhi Mi no Ingrisi

        • @tightwad: depends how much oil your potato's soak in, if you drain back into, what point you consider it dead oil ect ect. Consider canola or cotton seed oil (2 the more popular oils commercial) are about 2-3 a litre. This is $15 a kg half price, but I'm sure if you buy 10kg it's a lot cheaper.

Your paying for the inconvenience of it, the extra expensive oil, disposal, I would assume it's a harder to clean oil then the cotten we use at my work.

        • @ywaa1124:

          Yes. I'd already gathered that.

        • @tightwad: lol How nice of you. Anyway I dont know how to answer cuz its depends on what and how you wanna cook it.
If I bake a tray full potato, First of all, I will scoop decent amount like 50g of duck lube and chill in room temp for 30 mins then slice a tray full of potatos and put em in a bowl. sprinkle salt, pepper, thyme and rosemary onto the duck lube and pour over the potato bowl. Mix, tray and roast in 220 cel for 20 mins.

        • @ywaa1124:

          Thanks for that 😊

      • Didn't taste that much different to me. If they said it was done in butter (or variant of) I would've believed that too. Rather they gave me more Schnitz style chips :D

But people who know me will know I'm not much of a foodie lol. And hopefully when it comes to OzB most people are with me in not going to a place that charges $5 for an dumpling (under some banner of being "fusion").

        • anyone that thinks $5 a dumpling is acceptable is a w@nker

        • In the spirit of the original title of this, did you get sex with that dumpling? Holy balls.

        • @ippy: Dont forget to get a jar of duck lube

  • +1

I've used this to deep fry bacon. Works a treat. Need a couple of tubs though….

    • +1

So to make bacon taste of duck ?

      • Don't knock it til you try it.

i wish i can sell my fat!

btw, anyone know about Stomach fat Liposuction? how much are they, are they safe, and is one treatment enough?

    • +2

Soap, I make and I sell soap.

      • +1

        Space monkey checking in, sir!

    • One treatment isn't enough if you keep over eating and put the weight back on…..

    • Joe Hockey had gastric sleeve surgery - arguably a better alternative to liposuction. It seemed to work wonders for him.

  • Pay for fat then pay for fat removal, that doesn't sound like a good deal.
