  • What does 10 000 fly buy points get you?

      not much, $50 coles giftcard

  • Stay away. Horrible to deal with.

    Origin all the way!

    • Origin all the way!

Anything is better than energy australia… Origin isn't much better though

Never had a problem with AGL in all the years I've been with them.

      • Yeah me either. I'm in QLD, they've always been OK to deal with. They're probably about as good as any other half decent energy retailer. Not the best, not the worst. But in my experience they're certainly not terrible to deal with. Origin on the other hand was my previous energy provider. I'd rather stick a red hot poker up my pee hole than go back with them. They were terrible to deal with around solar credit payments in particular, at least when I was a customer. It was easier to marry someone of the same sex then to get your credits paid out in a timely fashion.

  • The wonders of inspiration https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/317370

Housemates or partners could potentially get $50 credit and 10k flybuys points each, if they open separate AGL accounts (one for gas and one for electricity) on the same address.

  • Seems a bit hypocritical to me. The AGL 'person' that advertises on TV that they will get rid of base load coal power stations says in the t&c of this 'offer' :
All New Account flybuys BONUS POINTS offers are not available to customers who have a solar PV system.
    Really genuine, no?

    • Not fair to neg for that.

And there's a reason why they've excluded solar users, probably wouldn't be profitable for them or the type of customers they want to entice.

Pretty much every promo has exclusions.

  • I rang and tried to find out if I could still get these despite just switching back, fingers crossed. Do have a 30 something percent 'discount' though

    • How did you get the 30% discount?

      • The discounts don't really mean all that much, you have to take into account the kwh charge and supply charge.

I'm getting 20% with AGL as a pay on time bonus, some companies offer more of a discount but have higher charges.

      • +1

Went to move away to Red Energy, then got a call stating if we stayed we get a 32% discount

        • See if agl will match that

  • Dont forget the $50 bonus for signing up online. Its annoying that there is final reding and initial reading fee which kind of eats away the bonus

    • So signup to $50 off then can add flybuys account after to get the points ?

      • +1

Yes. As there is an option to sign up online on the main link i suppose its possible

        Edit:
~$50 credit (GST incl.) per energy plan when you sign up online. Only available on gas and electricity accounts that have not received a once-off credit in the previous 12 months. Credits will be applied to the first bill(s) issued under these plans. Credits are not transferable.

~ flybuys BONUS POINTS available until 31 December 2017 (unless extended). Each flybuys membership is only eligible for one allocation of new account flybuys BONUS POINTS. Then switch to another provider. Rinse and repeat (for example energy australia and get $50 bonus and 10000 virgin points)

  • There rates seem alot higher then clickenergy is nsw tbey charge peak rates 24/7 without control load or smart metre.
