    Anywhere else?

Price match at other bunnings locations?

  • THATS a hell of a deal. One of each please!!

  • Was just at my local (vic) and saw the Rotary tool sharpening kit… Was still $29.

  • +3

Just called Bunnings Mile End (SA), no such special on.

  • +1

only the rotary tool with sharpening kit at Campbelltown (NSW) for $18. nothing else

  • Dang I bought the rotary kit for for $59 last weekend. It's a decent product and comes with lots of attachments. But it doesn't have a trigger, only a switch which is awkwardly placed near the power cord - so you can't really control when to stop easily, which you need to do when working on stuff that requires accuracy.

But it doesn't have a trigger, only a switch which is awkwardly placed near the power cord - so you can't really control when to stop easily, which you need to do when working on stuff that requires accuracy.

You don't need a trigger, you remove the bit from whatever material you are working on and given the Ozito tool and especially the bits are so poor you won't be getting any accuracy from it anyway. Dremel who are the market leaders have an on/switch and speed control.

      • +1

Have you used the Ozito one? They're actually surprisingly good quality and very easily handle detailed work. The flexible extension is great.

Dremel isn't the be all and end all that people who've bought one would like to believe…

    • +5

buy it for the lower price then return it with the original receipt, that's what any true ozbargainer would do.

  • That's some pretty good pricing! Thanks for sharing OP.

Won't be able to go into any ACT stores until Monday though. Will post back here with any successful bargains.

These are all complete rubbish and will be just great as a disposable tool for the rare DIY job. Don't expect these to last out their warranty, though.

    • is the rotary tool fixed or multi speed?

      • +5

Depends how you look at it.

It's fixed speed out of the box, but has such terrible power that as soon as you encounter any job remotely tough looking, it decides to become multi-speed and sometimes even stops and the wheel gets stuck.

        • +1

          lol tromboc

the wise words of a man sick of this shit

for $20 i guess you got to have much lowered expectations since a multispeed dremel is like $150?

        • Any luck with anything on Ali express?

        • I have a dremel and it's speeds are piss weak and so fast it vibrates so fast that it's really uncomfortable to hold. pos.

@saard: reminded me of the scene on nake gun when his in the porn store and starts the engine powered dildo.

It has an on/off switch and a speed dial. Mine is fine btw, except the lock button to undo the chuck fell out which made it a bit awkward.

    • +2

I have one of these and a dremel, it's 90% as good as a dremel for 20% of the price. The best bit about them is the replacement warranty. If it breaks, take it back and they give you a new one.

      • Shame it looks like no is going to stock Ozito if this is a run out sale?

      • Yes, or a refund if they cannot find a replacement.

  • +1

Great find but not in my 2 local Bunnings (Vic)

  • +2

I've been told by people who work at Bunnings that the yellow discount prices are "orders from on high" and are not set locally, in the store. Store discounts usually have "md" or whatever written I the item. Anyway, yellow discounts are often store specific.

    • +9

I'll confirm this in 20 years time. When I retire I plan on working at bunnings to offset my ozbargain purchases

      • Have you truly retired if you are working at Bunnings? Even part time?

        • It would be just like getting paid to do what I do now on my days off. I would ask to be rostered every weekend just for the sausages.

        • +4

@TightBottom: you walk around Bunnings in an apron confusing customers with bad advice while eating sausages for lunch? I have to try this.

    • +1

      Disagree

      • Care to elaborate?

        • +5

Clearance tickets are store specific and used by each individual store for many reasons which is why Bunnings doesn't price match other Bunnings stores. I disagree with the 'orders from on high' bit.

        • +2

@fiza1981: That's interesting. I've been led to understand that state office or above instructed the stores what items to yellow ticket. Thanks for the correction 👍

        • @fiza1981:

which is why Bunnings doesn't price match other Bunnings stores.

I've always had luck in matching clearance prices from other stores with the exception of the Victa cordless garden tools.

  • Deal makes me sad I cant get to this bunnings from Perth :/

  • Just went there just theb and spent $100…… on ozito gear, ozito vaccum is also 50 from 79 there was 3 left

    • Jelly much

    • The ozito vacuum was 46 a few weeks ago?

Could you use the air compressor somehow to make a high powered water gun for washing a car?

    • Am curious about this too..

      • yes of cause :) ah not those little bike pumps lol

    • Yeah naah buy a power washer.

    • anymore details on the air compressor?? I can't read that low-res photo and it's not on the bunnings site

  • According to the photo posted the 'Rotary tool sharpening kit' is actually a 'Rotary tool with sharpening kit'. $10 is a pretty cheap rotary tool, not as cheap as the $6 kmart one but this one at least is a brand and comes with 3 year warranty.

Anyone know what the difference in the kits are? Looking at the pick the more expensive one comes with a flex shaft (which the kmart one came with way back) but can't tell more than that from the pic

  • Definitely can't go past the 3 year Ozito warranty.

    • Definitely can't go past the 3 year Ozito warranty.

If course not because if you actually use the tools you'll be making use of the warranty.

  • Thanks, scored a bit:)

  • Feeling like some Bunnings sausage

  • I bought the rotary/flex hose kit about 6 years ago. Hasn't seen much use TBH but worked fine when needed.

Main gripe for me is the attachments fall apart long before their time, ie plenty of abrasive or stone left, but the resin holding it together fails.

The chuck lock isn't very strong on mine either. Hold down button and rotate shaft until pin engages for lock. When I tighten accessory the pin slips and frees the shaft.
Hope it's tight enough then resist feeling paranoid while using so job isn't ruined.

    Wear protection!

  • Crap !!! Went first thing in the morning only to know that there's no such deal over at Mentone :(

    • Yeah, these deals don't seem to apply in SA either. Bugga!

  • The rotary tool kits are marked down to $40 in Bunnings Wollongong (not $20). So your clearance mileage might vary..
