Note that this is the 64GB version with 4GB of RAM. Not to be confused with the 16GB version with 3GB RAM sold in stores here. The best price we saw for this 32GB version was $386 during eBay sales, however that was local stock with Mobileciti - now selling for $454 at Mobileciti ebay

Update: AU $347.41 using Amazon Exchange rates, ~ AU $337 using MasterCard exchange rates (if paying in USD on Amazon)

Not sure if this model has band 28 that everyone seems excited for. No band 28. Model XT1687 (Single Sim)

The questions and answers section has an answer claiming that the model is the xt1687, which Google says is b28-enabled.

    Great deal if true!

Edit: googled the wrong number, my bad, commenter below has the proper details

T-game your copy and paste skills need some work :)

    • Haha, sorry about that. I was wayyyyy to lazzzy to write since previous post are very much for the same device.

USA version doesn't have NFC .. is that correct?

    • +1

yeah no NFC, instead they put in a magnetic compass. I would prefer the international variant over the US.

The 32GB/4GB Version is available for $338.20 delivered on eBay, grey import from QD. About the same price, includes band 28 and NFC - however on gold in stock. Looks like it came back in stock last night, might be prefered for some for the sake of giving up 32GB storage. That's the XT1685 version.

It appears this Amazon version is XT1687 which doesn't appear to have Band 28, but it has all other bands:

    http://willmyphonework.net/

    3G 850MHz, 2100MHz
    4G Band8-900MHz, Band3-1800MHz, Band7-2600MHz

Shows all bands on Vodafone however.

  • Why don't these phones have band 28 enabled? Seems they would clean up…

Is it because the Australian market is too small?
Or deliberately differentiate, to avoid undercutting local retailers they supply?

this is the US market one. It lacks NFC too and instead adds some compass sensor.

  • Like a g5 like a g5

Just have a few less coffees and save $100 and get an LG G6 next time it goes on sale lol.

    • +7

      20 less coffees?
Your better off selling off a few ENELOOPS

    • Or just get this and save yourself a bootlooping headache.

  • Just get the Australian version. Has band 28 and NFC. I got mine from mobileciti.com.au and delivered within 3 days.

Check it out. It's the 32Gb/4Gb version

    • I followed your advice & checked MobileCiti's website. They dont have a 64GB/4GB. Their biggest was 32GB/4GB at $448. Just wondering if you have any info re: their 64GB/4GB offering please?

      • We don't have 64GB/4GB in Australia. However our 32GB/4GB version has NFC and dual Sim unlike the US version. You should not pay $448 for 32GB version, Australian warranty is not worth paying 30% more for. See here, or others on eBay for $330ish with C5OZ code from Hong Kong. If you want Australian stock wait for a deal on Mobileciti eBay for 32GB/4GB, it's not sold in stores. You can pick up the 16GB/3GB version from Officeworks or The Good Guys.

      • I paid around $380 when they had the sale on eBay. I was willing to pay more to get it quick. And it also takes microSD so you can add the extra space you need. I guess it will only get cheaper as there is talk of newer Moto releases soon.

      • I bought my australian g5 plus about a month ago for ~$388 from harvey norman (with price match officeworks) then got $50 cashback (amex)

I recall at the time, mobileciti had them for ~340, and there were several other similar deals around. So if you can't find it now, it will surely come up cheap soon. It's a nice phone.
