Great price. I've been using the Spark version for more than 2 years now. Still going strong with all keys as responsive as new and all LEDs fully functional.

    • +1

All the clips for the palm rest broke off mine within a week and all the rubber feet came off as well

      • +4

Did you use it for typing? Or…

        • I knew this would be the type of response id get but no, I just played csgo on it, im currently using my old g710+ now as the g910 likes open windows help on its own.

      • Mine took about a month. :/

  • I have a G810 which has the same keys as this - very good keyboards

    • +1

G810 is showing $117 @ HN is that a decent price for it?

      • +1

        https://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=logitech%2…

That actually a super cheap price for it and I prefer the G810 over G910. The G910 has a little too much going on with over a dozen additional keys and the palm rest. The G810 is a solid keyboard with only a few extra keys.

        • I went and got the G810. Amazing keyboard.

        • thank you as well!!

      • thank you, i just bought one!!

  • read reviews and wondering how this would do for a person coming from Corsair RGB k70?

    • Why change, they have similar features and age.

      • just that k70 rgb currently has firmware issues with usb 3.0 :( keeps disconnecting randomly

    • +2

I wouldn't bother swapping - the Romer G switches feel terrible compared to Cherries.

    • That would depend on your preference on switches. What switch do you have on your K70?

      • i have browns in them

        • If I was to compare browns to the Romer-G switches I'd say that the Logitech would be lighter to press, faster to actuate but feel less tactile as it doesn't have the definitive "click" of blue and brown switches but it's not as linear as reds.

  • Did anyone check it out in store, the main picture online and in this post is of the spark, not the spectrum.

  • Why does it say out of stock already?

    • -1

      Fake news.

  • +2

Does anyone here ever regret buying a mechanical keyboard purely because of the obnoxiously loud noise they keys make?

    • -1

You can buy o-rings to put under your keycaps as well as silicone keycaps for your mechanical keyboard to significantly lower the noise level.

    • +1

I've experienced the opposite. My first experience with a mechanical keyboard had mx blue switches. I subsequently bought a cherry red switch one for work, and was disappointed it didn't have the satisfying click-click sounds. Also bought a Logitech with Romer-G switches, and the keys are also too quiet.

    • It really depends on the particular key switch that is used in the keyboard. Blue switches are obnoxiously loud, brown and red less so. O-rings can help to dampen the sound but note that standard o-rings forswitches won't work with the Logitech Romer-G switches as the "stem" is square and not round.

Romer-G switches are actually quite quiet, I'm using the G810 in an office environment.

    • +4

damn i hope they dont catch you saying that in /r/mechanicalkeyboards

    • I think once you start with mechanical keebs its hard to go back to normal mushy rubber domes. That said - I also started with Cherry Blues and loved them at first, but now I prefer quieter and more tactile switches. My favourite switches now are Matias Quiet Clicks - but Matias Clicks and Fukka Clicks (all just different alps clones) are great if you want to hear a clickety-clack.

    • maybe if you bought blue switches? I've had brown, red and blue. Brown are a good compromise on sound however I just enjoy how reds work. Blues are obnoxiously loud

    • I regretted it, not because i am dissatisfied, but because I used it at work and it drove one of my workmates crazy (it's cherry blue - yeah i know). I'm thinking to get rid of it and change to a red or Romer-G. Which one should I buy. Please help

      • Forget romer-g switches. If you want quiet I think browns or reds. Although subjectively I think reds feel horrible. I think you can probably get your hands on a poker ii on eBay with browns for 130

Looks a bit over the top going for "the gamer look", can anyone vouch that its a good keyboard and not just for show?

    • -1

It should be a good keyboard if you ignore the looks. Check the feature list to see what you get.. but the typing performance should be much better than a standard keyboard due to the mechanical switches.

    • Check out the Logitech Orion G610. Looks very professional and minimalist I'm waiting for a deal myself…

  • The pic in the add shows the Spark (the older version) as thats the same keyboard I have.

  • I just purchased this from JB (staff pricing) for $145 2 weeks ago, upgrading from the G19 - keyboard with oled screen and its amazing for a mechanical keyboard. lights are cool and change but more responsive keys too !

  • +2

There's also the Logitech G810 Mechanical Keyboard for $117 and you can match it up with a Logitech G403 Gaming Mouse for $47.

Hmmm, for FPS gaming should I get the G910 or save $22 and get the G810? The G810 still has programmable Function keys but do I need the extra ones on the side of the G910?

    • +1

The programmable keys "might" be handy for certain fps games, CS comes to mind as you program each key to be a different weapons purchase combination.

It's just convenient to have dedicated programmable keys instead of using the functions keys, if you make use of them that is. I actually use the keys more in photoshop than games

    • +1

      Might get the G810
Logitech is a quality brand but I have no use for extra keys.
Have got them on my current keyboard and never use them.

      Thanks for the link.

fantastic deal, I love my G910

  • Hows the Corsair K70 stackup with this one?

    • I had a corsair but several Leds were dead when i plugged it in. thought i would take it back but i never did. in the end i spill some beer on it and despite my best attempts at cleaning, it never returned to normal

  • doesnt seem like this is the updated g910. some may find the ridges on the keycaps annoying

    • +1

This is the newer "Spectrum" as opposed to it's predecessor the "Spark"

  • Looking for a deal on the G610 with blue switches…

    • I want to get rid of mine.

      • Why?

        • I drive my workmate crazy with the clicking noise

        • @f38r1: Oh yeah, you should ahve got Browns for work dude

  • I'd just spend a bit more and get something like a filco.

  • After reading through all the product description, there's no specification on exact key travel length and pressing force. WTF. Why are products are all so vague about these important things?

  • I've been using it for a few months now and it's great. and although it has no LCD screen anymore, it has a phone "dock" with an app called ARX control which is quite nifty.

    • +1

I like using ARX just for PC monitoring.

      • Yeah it's good for checking temperatutes. I also use the EVGA software which takes control of my card's fans when needed, but obviously doesn't look after CPU and HDD temps.

  • +1

Will i get gold elims on Overwatch if i get this?

  • Are these Romer G ones better than cherry browns?

    • I tried them out in-store and found them mushier than browns.

      • Thanks for the feedback - is mushier not as good for you? I'd be upgrading from a regular $20 Microsoft

        • Mushy keys tend to feel similar to membrane keyboards, so they're not as nice as to type on as a standard mechanical.

I personally prefer clicky switches like blues due to the tactile and audible feedback.

I strongly recommend finding a store with a switch tester or preferably display models to play around with before you make a decision.

If you're specifically looking for a gaming keyboard, I'd recommend something from the CoolerMaster Pro range unless you really need the macro keys.

        • @veetor:

Cheers, great advice. I'm looking for a mainly work keyboard but part time gaming also.

  • I have been using the spark version of this keyboard now for just over a year, and while I can say it's "good" it's, in my opinion, not "GREAT". I moved from the G15, and still find that to be a more ergonomically layed out gaming keyboard.

I find I'm making more typos now, and if anything, just typing slower.

The ARX dock rattles a lot if you have a big sound system.

The configurable LEDs are a nice novelty, and it's also quite weighty, which I assume all mechanical keyboards are, but it gives a sense of quality.

    • Haven't noticed my ARX dock rattle at all with the Spectrum. I have a Muteki soundbar with sub.

  • I read some reviews a few weeks ago during the jb hi fi sale which rated the keyboard pretty badly and turned me off it..

  • +1

    Thanks op.
    Got the g810 at Burleigh.
    1 g810
    2 g910 left

  • I have the G810. I have tried a number of different keyboards including Reds/Blues/Browns. I find the G810 to be an excellent keyboard and it has taken it's place as my final keyboard. The G910 seem'd a little too flashy for my tastes with all the extra padding and keys.

I much rather the Logitech Romer keys over any cherry.

  • +1

Just bought thanks for the deal! Ive been looking to get a mechanical keyboard for a while and have used membrane keyboards all my life, but was always worried about the loud clicking! this might be a good compromise! Its ready for pick up already! =D

  • +1

Price matched at JBhifi. Thanks OP.

    • Went to Bondi JB shop, as HN is out stock, can't do price match, talked to store manager, the best price he offered was $157. WTF. Order online now. Thanks OP

      • when they did the price matching, they did check online stock of the nearest HN store, fortunately for me, there were stocks available, so the store manager did the matching. ridiculous rrp at jbhifi, labelled as $249.

BTW, i did get the G810 rather than the G910.

  • I have this keyboard and it's been excellent, especially docked with a small tablet running Logitech Arx.
The keycaps are a huge improvement over the Sparx model previous to this one.

  • good post.bought 1 from hn in moorabbin today. looked like there was only 2 left. Jbhifi in brighton refused to price match.

tbh the girl at hn wa way nicer than the dude at jb

  • Just grabbed one from Thomastown and it scanned at 131.60 so bonus!

    • I just did the same thing today at Thomastown! But I talked to the guy - the $131.60 was for the old Orion Spark - which I like anyway, the other price is for the Spectrum. I was happy to get the older one anyway.
But a good FYI for others - HN are discounting the old Orion Spark (was $278).

  • Could only see one more G810 at Auburn Domayne Harvery Norman.
Could not see the G910 on the shelf.

  • Hey for the software - do we just download G910 Spark software? can't seem to find the G910 Spectrum gaming software and firmware.

  • Its so hard to upgrade from my 5 year old Gigabyte Osmium Aivia because this one doesnt have USB passthrough and no onboard memory. :/
