      English manual : http://files.xiaomi-mi.com/files/vacuum_cleaner/vacuum_clean…

In case it helps anyone else:
      - plug docking station in to power point (using your own AUS figure 8 power cable)
      - dock vacuum into station manually
      - download mi home app on your phone
      - create mi home user account through app
      - the vacuum has a WiFi hotspot. Connect your phone to its WiFi network
      - select add device then scan for devices and add the vacuum when it shows up
      - you'll have to enter in a few things, like your home WiFi network password
      - control the vacuum using the app

      • Still can't find mine when scanning :(

        • Was it in the dock when you were scanning? Try connecting to its hotspot using WiFi settings on your phone, does it show up in list of devices in mi home app? Try scanning a few times. Failing that, hit the reset button on the vacuum. You have to lift the lid and use a pin or something to push the reset button in.

        • @zaidoun: yeah in the dock. Tried scanning before connecting to it's hotspot. Connected to it's hotspot, still nothing. Tried a reset too, still nothing.

          I'll do some more investigating.

@LlamaLlamaLamp: fixed it. I made the mistake of changing the locale to US/English prior to setup.

  • Was this meant to come with an AU adapter or does one need to source one themselves?

Also, when I try to install the Xiaomi Home App, it says that access to the Microphone, Contacts, Messages to work normally…. seriously!?

    • Who needs an adaptor when you can get a figure 8 cable with an australian plug.

As for the app needing all sorts of access. I guess thats how the vacuum's chinese overlords will be keeping an eye on you.

    • Microphone for voice commands I guess (experimental feature which can be activated from the profile settings area in the app). Messages and contacts are because you can share things I'm guessing, eg the image of the path your robot followed when cleaning.

    • Isn't there a legal requirement to provide an Australian plug if it's sold by an Australian entity?
