First time posting. Found a Medium Big Mac Meal for $5 in the app.
Using the Maccas ordering app, select the Big Mac option. Then in the meals there will be small, large and Golden meal options.
Select the Golden meal option to receive a Medium Big Mac Meal for $5.
Used tonight at my local with no issues. Unsure of end date.
Mine makes me log in every single time I use it.
Is that because it wants to check out your username?

you need to use android application manager to clear the app's data and cache. Restart it and it should work.
i found it frustrating in that it doesn't always update all the items, so i go into it & its only showing drinks or whatever, have to try again later. Honestly i only ever use it if theres a bargain to be had like this meal otherwise its too much hassle.
It also somehow isn't created for iPhone 6 screen sizes and only runs in iPhone 5 mode.
It's also infuriating trying to search for it when it's not called "McDonald's" or "Macca's" but it's called "Ordering".
not sure why everyone has issues with the app, I'm on iOS and it works first time every time. Only issue I had was with the GPS signal not detecting I was at my store, but that was the poor phone signal in my area and not the app
Android app is crap. I need to reinstall everytime I want to use it. Not worth it imho.
No need - you can go into Settings > Apps > myMacca's and Clear Cache / Clear Data and it'll be as if it was a fresh install. :)
Even that doesn't work sometimes. Last time I had to delete and reinstall it because the menu simply wouldn't load.
Odd thing, if I select Coke No Sugar option, price went up to $7.75! Regular coke is $5.

It would have been outsourced to a marketing group, who utilised the services of a survey group, who passed the results to a key demographic group, who then liased with the app designer, who outsourced the work to another group, etc.

I would get Maccas everyday if thier app actually worked. All i can order is thickshakes. Really cant be bothered wasting time and redownloading 80mb every time i want to place an order.
Just clear the app cache each time you use it, and wait for it to re-download the menu data.

If anyone has problems with this app goto installed apps in settings and clear the data. You don't need to reinstall it.
I had a $5 off $10 spend once from the app. As soon as I try to load the menu, it'll just keep trying to load catalog for 30 mins. Fkn waste of time, I went to kfc and never used my voucher

used to be able to buy pickled cucumbers in a can, i think they were Edgell & they pretty much tasted like the Maccas ones. But i just looked online & they don't seem to make them anymore. I have yet to find a cheese that is like the Maccas cheese though or i would be tempted to make my own burgers, luv that cheese!
The worst thing about rhe Big Mac nowdays is it isn't really big anymore, at least HJ whopper is more like its name.
Added the golden meal (along with a bunch of other items like the small McFeast $5 meal) for a big order.
Arrived at Maccas and clicked I'm here and it gives an error.
I asked the cashier and they put the $5 McFeast through but said Big Mac golden meal wasn't showing on their system, maybe that's why it kept giving an error when submitting the order via the app :( fail.
This was at Bell St Preston Maccas.
Same in Darling Harbour Maccas, they charged the money on my AMEX and they said hopefully they refund it or else I need to dispute the charge.

For those who have been receiving errors, check your card and ensure you are refunded! I got an error when trying to order, app told me to go in store. Went in store and demonstrated the error multiple times. Staff, including the manager simply said they didn't know what the problem was and that there wasn't anything they could do. Checked my card and it's been charged multiple times…
Just happened to me today. Fortunately no payments were made.
Same as me, I went to multiple stores checking and they all errord out, at the last store, there was a realyl nice manager who said that he couldnt refund me because it didnt come through in any way to that stores banking and to phone this number which would deal with it: 02 9875 7100 .He then let me get the meal and just put it through as the mcfeast $5 meal.
I too tried using the app and got to the checkout, put my card details in, only to be given an error afterwards.
Checked my cc and I've been charged aswell.
EDIT: perhaps the mods should put a note on the post, so no one else gets burned, seems like it's a common thing.
Does it show in the recent orders section of your app?
I got the error message but can't see a charge on my card yet, but there might be a delay for my banking app to show up so wondering if you can tell by the recent orders if it's gone through.

I did, many weeks ago, when the golden meal was a 1/4 lb meal. After that one time, I've never been able to use it again, until I read this thread and learned of the reinstall/clear cache trick.
I'll try it again over the weekened which is very likely going to have a maccas trip after the football. :)

McDonald's in Mayfield not accepting order. Haven't been charged but waiting to see..
I got charged for the same transaction six times two weeks ago, but later on they released the charge 'cos they only temporary locked the amount as the transaction did not go through. It took about 2 weeks for them to unlock and I didn't call them or my card provider.
Tried ordering it at 4 different stores. It always just went to an error, looking at my CC history it appears that Ive been charged for every use but it's been immediately refunded.
Ill wait for another day to check if all the transactions were refunded. One manager at a store told me to call this number if they didnt all get refunded. 02 9875 7100

Haven't read the whole thread, will come back to it later. Just wanted to chime in that all the my local Maccas (that are owned by the same franchisee) don't have anything showing up on the app except some drinks like coffee and stuff.
As soon as I try a non-local maccas, the entire menu populates. The manager/supervisor wasn't sure why but her guess is that every store gets to choose how much they particapate.
I've had that happen a couple times. I contact the app developers about it and their only suggestion was to uninstall the app and then reinstall it. Which does fix the issue, but is a pain in the arse to do it every time

Get onto Maccas social media (facebook). Its not like this is a mistake price, it appears to be a promotion 'golden meal' thing. so refusing to honour a promotion would viotate consumer law.
It's almost a bait and switch. Get people into store with $5 promise. Then they have to leave hungry or spend more than double.
I should clarify. App refused to process at the final checkout stage, then store refused to honour the app. Ended up being charged 3 times by the app, then once by the store at the full price.

I'd suggest you try your luck with the social media team, those guys in any company are your best bet at making you happy.

Ordered thru app but Padstow Maccas didn't have anything on their screen except "Golden Meal" but listed nothing on the screen.
Had to call the manager to the drive thru and she just processed it as a large Big Mac meal!

Decent deal, but seriously the McDonald's app is the most frustrating app I have probably ever used. It crashes randomly, then forgets what you had in your cart before and you have to start from scratch all over again. The app works purely on hopes and dreams.
