If your spend is over €225 (~ $338 AUD) then make sure to use this deal instead for a higher return: Booking.com - Spend €225 (~ $338 AUD) Get €75 (~ $112.5 AUD) Back

    • Cheers bud - just booked something in japan that was non refundable but booking.com allow you to cancel it within 72 hours so I saved $112. Thank you

      • @Gringoesai

How did you do that? I am also in a same boat. I booked non refundable hotel rooms in Malaysia couple of days ago (still within 72 hours). Did you email them to cancel as my booking shows LOW RATE - NO MONEY BACK?

        Thanks

        • He didn't book the non-refundable.

Rule: only book non-refundable when the price looks like a pricing error.

        • I had booked the non refundable but if cancelled within 4 hours it was free. I would recommend emailing the hotel directly and requesting to please cancel and then say you are rebooking straight away and to keep CC On file or something, I specifically for an email saying the provider agreed to the free cancellation but looked and was timed to be auto generated. Alternatively book another room at the same hotel with the deal and email to cancel your other booking. Risk on the latter option but in the travel world it works as it's a dupe booking.

    • I think this has expired :(

  • Yes a good deal if you are spending that amount.

I would like to highlight some important T. & C.s
A reservation is considered an “Eligible Reservation” when it has been made by clicking on the Incentive Link and the total cost of the reservation as made via Booking.com (excluding any costs incurred in addition during the stay directly at the accommodation) is greater than the minimum transaction value communicated in the promotion and at minimum two times the value of the Incentive Bonus to be earned by the Participant.
    (IE Minimum booking cost $US80)
For certain properties, the reward is given to the Participant at the time of booking. In these cases, the reward value is deducted from the total price of the reservation and the Participant pays the full balance at the time of booking.
Booking.com will only recognize one Eligible Reservation per Participant per campaign to count for an Incentive Bonus. Participants may only receive Incentive Bonuses from a maximum of 3 different campaigns per year, including Refer-a-Friend campaigns.

OP, have you used this before, and this time did you get an immediate deduction from the total price?

  • The money is refunded to the credit card used for the booking once you complete your stay.

    • I have used it before and so not sure that I would qualify again. But T & C's do say "For certain properties, the reward is given to the Participant at the time of booking."

  • I have found this 100AUD property which may or may not meet the minimum transaction value based on the exchange rate.

Does seeing this message "After your booking has been verified and confirmed, you'll receive your US$40 reward!" on the final booking page mean that you've qualified for the promotion?

  • Yes

  • Does it work with Pay at hotel option? It doesnt say in the terms and conditions.

  • Yes when you book it will tell you After your booking has been verified and confirmed, you'll receive your US$40 reward!" on the final booking page mean that you've qualified for the promotion?

  • Yes it does as I have chosen to pay at the hotel. You have to use your credit card to confirm your booking and use that same credit card to pay for you room.

  • :( late by 4 hours… just booked before via orbitz 18%

  • Good luck with this, I have never been paid anything this company has offered despite repeated calls and ignored emails to them. I will never use them again.

    • Have you used this promotion or a similar promotion?

Don't understand why you've been down voted. Hotel booking companies dragging their feet on cashback payments has been a reported problem.

      • -2

They havent tracked any of my cashreward payments as well

    • +2

@Rsoul, you rarely post or comment. And rarely happy! Can you give more information or do you have a personal grudge against booking.com ?

    • +1

I have used the cashback promo (referral promo and others) about 6 times in the last 3 months. Been paid every time within 2 days after checking out.

  • Do I have to use one new account to get the cashback or I can use my old account?

  • Do I have to use one new account to get the cashback or I can use my old account?

  • Thanks just made a booking and will pay at hotel.

  • Can I book multiple rooms separately i.e 3 transaction of around AUD $110?

  • +4

I'm still waiting on my $112 from my last stay over 2 weeks ago… is there a way to contact them and see what the issue is?

    • Let me know how this goes…did it say

"€ 75 coming up! You'll get your reward after your stay's confirmed."

In your account under 'earn money' before you stay was completed?

      • +3

I never registered for an account but in all the emails they confirmed that I would receive the reward after my stay:

        "My reward
        You’ll receive € 75 after you’ve completed your stay."

    • Can you please let us know if you receive your cash back? Hoping to use it however if you don't get your cash back I won't. Cheers. and Good luck!

      • +1

It's weird I got an email from them today again about it this time saying…

        Welcome back!
We hope you enjoyed your trip! Now that you've stayed, it's time to cash in on the reward we promised

        • You need to add a credit card to the account or else they won't/can't pay you.

        • +1

Yes I did that yesterday I thought they would just pay me via the card I used to pay at the hotel. I missed the part about having to put a credit card on my account

        • @harthagan: so the cashback seems like it's on its way now?

        • @coolhand:

Im hoping so although ive had no conformation since. Will update once it goes through or otherwise.

        • @harthagan:

Can confirm that the $111 came through yesterday into my account so I think it was just the fact that I had paid at the hotel and didn't have an actual booking.com account. These are pretty darn good promotions IMO.

Can we stack this offer with cashrewards and booking referral?

  • Hi, op i just booked service apartment in merlbourne.. How do i need to do to get this offer? Is this offer only for outside australia ?

  • I believe the offer is worldwide.
and don't think the offer is stackable

  • I couldn't get it to stack with CashRewards, also, the cheapest room rate for the hotel I was looking at went from the top to the bottom of the rooms list after logging in. Sneaky Sneaky.
Also, make sure you shop around. The hotel I wanted to stay at was about $20 cheaper either directly or via other sites, but this discount pushed it to Booking.com's favour once included.

    • yeah booking.com is known for having higher rates mostly because its free cancellation or pay when you arrive

helps to shop around for sure. Agoda and Expedia with 12% off and Cheaptickets with the constant 16% off seems the way to go mostly

    • $US40 rebate and you are unhappy that it doesn't stack with cashrewards?

      • Not at all, poor wording on my side. It was in reply to an above poster asking if it stacked.

  • They paid me out when this was first posted a month or so ago. BUT if this deal is in continuance with that deal and not a new promotion, then I would not be eligible

    • +1

Yep my son signed up and booked a room for me hehe!

      • Good move Peck. As you'd know, and for information for others, with booking.com you can nominate who occupies the room- not necessarily the person who makes the booking nor who holds the visa card

        • +1

Plus used supplementary Amex card in his name, in my possession, connected and billed to my Amex Account :))

T&Cs are very generic, a gamble at best:

An Incentive Bonus can be earned as follows:
The Participant clicks on the referral link (the “Incentive Link”) as provided on the Booking.com website, in a Booking.com email promotion or a Booking.com banner or promotion on other websites, and creates an Eligible Reservation through the Booking.com website; and/or
The Participant leaves or has left a (completed) guest review through the Booking.com website; and/or
The Participant has downloaded the Booking.com app and creates an Eligible Reservation through the Booking.com website; and/or
The stay of the Participant as part of the Eligible Reservation is confirmed by the booked accommodation to Booking.com; and
To obtain the reward as a credit to their credit card, the Participant has, within a reasonable time after the stay, either created a user account and saved a valid credit card in the account settings or provided a valid credit card on the provided digital form. American Express is not currently an accepted credit card.
Certain Incentive Bonuses may be limited to certain users (e.g. users who have not previously booked with Booking.com) or certain bookings (e.g. specific destinations). Where applicable this will be described in the promotion.
For certain properties, the reward is given to the Participant at the time of booking. In these cases, the reward value is deducted from the total price of the reservation and the Participant pays the full balance at the time of booking.

  • Can't make it works. How to know if it works or not? After booking it doesnt show any discount?

    • They only credit this bonus back once your stay has been verified!

    • There is a page after booking the room that says like:-
      "Booking successfully confirmed!
      (tick) blah blah
      (tick) blah blah
      (tick) blah blah
(tick) Get US$40 back once your stay has been verified!"

But there is still no guarantee that you will get the rebate. Especially if you have already had one!

  • Anyone know if this is in addition to the €225 spend deal? Or if we've redeemed that then aren't eligible for this as well

  • Just booked a 3 nights stay in Thailand in December, saved AUD 50 thanks to OP :)

    • +2

It's a saving only if you get the money back. You'll only know after your stay in December.

  • To those who have made bookings using this promo, did you get an email confirmation that you're entitled to the cashback? Or is it just a message on the booking confirmation screen saying you're entitled?

    • +1

Got confirmation on the booking confirmation email, under My Reward.

  • +1

No email just the massage on the confirmation screen.

  • I can report successful cashback with the other promotion. See here and here. Good luck all, get dat money!

  • hello, what is the process for this

i just booked a hotel at xmas on booking.com, is this correct

    UPDATE : works now

  • Can I use this one multiple times?

      • Does this offer considered as one campaign? I made two bookings using this link and both bookings show "Get US$40 back once your stay has been verified! ". Wonder if they will just remove one of them.

        • Tough question. I think as the details are similar then it would be considered the one campaign, however nothing is guaranteed. If not eligible I would guess that you wont receive the rebate on your later stay.

  • Question for those who have successfully booked and received cashback: must you have seen the banner that says "receive $40 cashback" upon completion of booking? I'm looking at hotels in Manila for my trip in 2 weeks, have made a reservation (not paid- free cancellation) but have seen nothing on cashback?

Also assuming this won't work with stacking cashrewards?

    • Couldn't get it to work, so decided to book via this deal instead. Works out the hotel prices are much cheaper with the 18% discount so I'm happy!

  • Can you pay in AUD, or do i have to pay in USD for this promotion to work?

  • i think this deal has expired, because it's saying that the US$ 40 discount will only be applied if total booking cost is > US$ 200

  • Just checked and it is still working for me.

    • +1

i didn't say the deal wasn't "working", it's just the terms of the deal has expired.

if you looked closely, the discount of US$ 40 is still the same, but the spend needs to be greater than US$ 200.

  • When I click on the go to deal link it is still telling me that if you spend USD80 you will get USD 40 refunded after your stay.

    • weird.
      i can see the deal you see too, i.e. US$ 80 - US$ 40 deal.

i must have had several different Booking.com deals loaded in my browser tabs, so i must have screwed up!
      ( and i also booked a place too. d'oh )

anyway, i have more to book now, so it's all good ^_^

  • Definitely has changed it is now saying you must spend $US200 to get the same $US40 back making it no longer a good deal

  • Not sure what your looking at but just clicked on the go to deal link again and the deal is still on.
Spend usd 80 get usd 40 refunded

    • When i click on "go to deal" i dont see the same thing as you. In fact now when it takes me to the app there is no mention of the deal at all :(

    • He is right. This deal has changed. It is not a good deal now. $40 cashback with minimum booking of $80

  • There is something very buggy going on with this deal. I uninstalled the app so it would direct me to the booking.com website instead and it said $US40 cash back when you spend $US80 but then no matter what hotel I picked it said you must spend $US200 in order to get the cashback

    • Oh and I definitely have not used this deal before so it's nothing to do with that…

      • I used this deal 2 days ago, registered a new account to reuse it but now the minimum spend is $200usd 😔

  • I think the problem is with booking.com website

    • if you have already used this once you will not be able to use it the second time. Having said that it doesn't work on my new accounts too :(

  • Just clicked and this one, is back!!!!!

    • Only bookings with a value of at least AUD 253.05 are eligible for rewards.

  • Worked for me on an existing account in Sept. Thanks OP.

    • How does this exactly works? Just click the link that OP provided (that goes to Booking.com with refer= bla, bla), logging in and start booking?
