  • Note that this is older version. The newer (upgrade) version is Gold Type and apparently it has completely new sonic power. Not sure is the newer version is worth the extra money.

        It is definitely not the updated version which has different button and power axis output of 230 gf.cm. The one in the link below is the updated version which is the Gold Type. You can also get it from OP link for $66 by clicking on Gold Type instead of Classic Type which is selected by default.

        • It's interesting that both types are listed as the "Black gold updated version" in their specifications and that the newer gold type version is actually cheaper (without the discount coded added). The main difference I can see is the oval power button on the gold type vs the round power button on the classic type and as you mentioned the gold type has 230gf.cm compared to 220gf.cm for the classic.

        • @Clementt: Good question. The main difference is the gram-force/centimeter so I'm not sure if that means a different motor or what else they've done to get this.
          I guess it depends if you want to pay the few dollars extra (about $14 which is around 20% more expensive) for the newer one as the discount code only worked for the classic type.

          The main point I was highlighting is that both models are listed as the "Black gold updated version" so it will be interesting to see what gets delivered.

    I think this is more comparable with Philips brush rather than the oral b offerings. If it as good as the Phillips sonic one, then it's way better than the oral b brushes ime.

      The one in your link seems to be from the basic Sonicare's range, the higher end Diamond clean is the real deal.
      It has NiMH battery which takes much longer to charge vs the Xiaomi's Lithium battery which is advanced in battery terms and charges quickly.
      Most importantly from previous comments the oscillations on these brushes matter the most when it comes to cleaning (more the better)

        Not just the box, but the carton it comes in, then on the base of the charger but more importantly, on the bottom of the electric toothbrush itself all have SOOCARE written on them (on mine anyway). FYI in my case the SKU number is 192029004.

        I'm really interested to know what others who ordered this item end up getting delivered.

        The only response I've received from Gearbest ATT is:

        "We have submitted your question to our supplier already and we will complete your information again.
        Please kindly wait for 3-5 business days and we will get back to you soon after we receive the reply."

          Both boxes are SOOCARE and the SKUs are the same as 2getted above
          BUT the replacement heads that i received are branded SOOCAS (and the head included in the toothbrush is SOOCARE

    I just received mine in the mail. As i suspected the classic one has the Soocare box (old version) and looks like the black gold type has the newer Soocas box then. See item pictures i took.. http://imgur.com/a/KbUu4

      So what's your impression then as this does appear to be the older SOOCARE model. Have we been ripped off?

      Considering that the item we bought was clearly listed on the web page in five separate areas that it is supposed to be the SOOCAS X3 model and that the image used (which is not a stock image for these models as the other models use a different image) clearly states "Black gold updated version".

      Also any ideas why we would have been sent a US style plug instead of the standard Chinese style which is the same as Australia?

      • I got mine last week(same photos as above) Classic type(black and gold) and I've also ordered the updated version(black and oval gold button). I don't think the difference between these 2 models is that big. I've only tested the classic type so far and the quality is amazing plus I can feel my teeth much cleaner than when using my oral b 8500

    • I have got the same product and I have opened a case. Item ordered was SOOCAS X3 and received SOOcare. Looks like they are trying to sneak in orders if customer is not aware.
      I have not opened the box and I might have US plug instead of AU.
      Also, is this SOOCAre Xiaomi brand?

      • The way i see it is the old classic type is Soocare and and the black gold type version is the newer version Soocas. They even have pictures displayed as Soocare if you look at all the pictures for the classic type version and if you select black gold type the pictures they have clearly labelled Soocas.

        The updated black gold type Soocas is around 20% more $ with difference being that Soocas is 230 gf.cm when Soocare X3 is 220 gf.cm and also Soocas has the oval button rather than circular with classic type.

        Soocas is better hence the price increase..

        They even state on item page

          @Gaggy: I already expected the classic type version to be Soocare after looking at reviews and pictures when classic was selected. To be honest there's nothing to justify me to pay a lot more for newer version as it's not much difference between the two besides 3 things, gf.cm/button/english app.
          classic works just as fine and is well worth $usd39.99.

        • @dingdong3000: It says Soocas in item description on website and also in Q&A, Gearvest have stated that Soocas is different to Soocare. I will contact GB and see what they have to say.

        • @dingdong3000: I use the soocas app(on iOS) with my Soocare black and gold(round button) toothbrush and it's in English(It also works with Mi Home but the toothbrush menu is not translated yet). The only issue is the time of teeth brushing, it is always 6hrs behind

    • I believe the Classic Type version only has Chinese, whereas the newer SOOCAS version has english app. I refer to http://imgur.com/nyLSraA if i want to change any setting

      • I downloaded an english version from somewhere, looks the same as your image, no idea if its virus free though

        • Okay i got the Soocas english app to work from the playstore for our Classic Type Soocare. You must enable Location from your app permission if you're on Android. That's the only permission it needs be on to bind our toothbrush. I'll be sticking to chinese version as it seems less buggy

          when i signed up i used a different region eg. singapore. Sometimes it isn't able to sync that's why i use chinese version from MI Home.

    Has anyone had any luck with their complaint regarding the socare vs soocas.

    So far I can either return for $80USD refund or $10USD credit.

    They swear that they sent the correct item.
    They don't quite get it that the box says different to the order

    Either way I'm very happy with the toothbrush

      Well we can always put a claim through Paypal if necessary. I'm going to keep mine for now.

      • For me they admitted it was their mistake and got offered $10USD either as a partial refund or store credit

    • I haven't updated the deal as I was waiting to see what replacement I ended up receiving before posting an update.
      I have been advised by Gearbest that they are sending me a replacement. Unfortunately I think I'm going to get the same (ie SOOCARE) item again as the SKU Gearbest has quoted that they are sending me is the same as the original item.

      From Gearbest:

      We are sorry to hear that you received a wrong item from us.
      We need to confirm the issue with our supplier and please kindly wait for 3-5 business day, we will get back to you soon after we receive the reply.

      Then over a week later:

      After checking with our supplier, we found that they made the mistake.
      In this case, we will offer you 2 options.
      Option 1: Resend a New Item
      We can resend the same item in another size free of charge. For this, please provide us with the information below:
      Confirm your address …
      Option 2: Full Refund to Your Payment Account
      We will refund in full USD 39.99.
      For PayPal account holders, please allow up to 48 hours for the transaction to appear on your PayPal account.
      Option 3: We will refund to your GB wallet with extra points…

      So I opted for Option 1 but as yet I haven't received the replacement item. And yes I noted that they stated that they offered me two options but listed three (I think they consider option two and three similar as they both are different forms of a refund).

      I believe that everyone should have received the SOOCAS X3 model as this is what was advertised. The item is described in five separate places as the SOOCAS X3 model and even in the image as the "Black gold updated version". Even the Q&A responses from Gearbest state that the SOOCARE model is different to the SOOCAS model. So I stated that I had received the wrong item as it is the older SOOCARE model and not the advertised SOOCAS X3 model.
      At the very least I will claim a refund for receiving the wrong item as I paid via PayPal. Just waiting to see what model the replacement they sent me turns out to be.

        I had about 10 messaged back and forth and mentioned every time that my order had a different brand to what was received.

      My black and gold(new type) arrived yesterday.Sounds a bit stronger(louder) than the classic type black and gold, button is oval and says "Soocas" at the base.Everything else is the same, I'm happy with both of them so far and my teeth feel much cleaner 24/7.I have been using a Braun Professional Care 8000 series for years, these Xiaomi are 5 times better.

          There is lots of confusion on the name, model etc.
