I read it like "Tightair" Domestic

I read it as Tigerarse, thought it was some sort of new Bollywood porno.

Looking forward to the sequel Tigerarse: Eye of the Tiger.

Thank heavens for the abolishment of those extreme credit card fees. Actually makes these deals worthwhile now…

    • +1

how much % were they before?

      • +3

That's the problem, they were in fixed dollars not %. It was just a money rotting scheme for Airlines. Like 10 buck each way Domestic, 30 for international. That's per pax. Hurts more if your a larger group or family.

Took the family to Hawaii on jetstar. $300 in credit card fees! Absolute bull dust when the airfare was only $229 each way!

      • +2

Not a percent, but $8.50 per flight per passenger!

Other airlines had similar ridiculous flat fees like Virgin $7.70 per transaction.

  • limited to specific times right? So prices from $33.

    • +2

Yeah, it should be in stated in post prices are for selected flights only.

I did a check of one route and the cheap fares were for the worst travelling times, either very early or very late. Can't comment on all routes though.

    • Yeah looks like weekends are excluded so it's good if you wanna travel monday-wednesday

    Thanks!

  • Anyone got the Pricebeat guarantee from Jetstar after quoting this deal?

    • Yes, but the new Pricebeat system sucks :(

They took hours to respond to my Pricebeat, during this time the sale tickets had sold out.
I contacted support, and I asked for different times when they were not sold out - they then wanted me to log another Pricebeat.
I refused and then they said Pricebeat is not available for "Promotional flights" and linked me to their terms and conditions
I pointed out that their terms and conditions say nothing about "Promotional flights" and it appears they have made that up.

In the end they gave me the Pricebeat.

I got the Pricebeat. The trick is to avoid the booking form jetstar suggest and @maraco used.
      Go here: http://www.jetstar.com/au/en/contact-us
Then select Booking and payment issues > Payment problem when booking > Start Live chat
Once in the chat tell the assistant you wish to price match and they will do it instantly on the spot for you.
I did this with no issues and got my flight booked instantly. :)

      • I tried this just then. It worked the first time. I wanted to price beat another return flight but the agent closed the chat after I paid for the first one. I opened another chat this time the agent didn't want to do it. I closed and tried again a third time, still no go.

  • Is the Jetstar Price Beat no longer a chat anymore? Haven't price beat in a while, I can almost see these cheap fares disappearing before I can get a price beat with this new "fill in a form and we'll get back to you" system…

    • sometimes they email me back in 10 minutes, sometimes a few hours :/

      • My longest wait so far was 12 hours.
Ironically the email says you have 60 minutes to pay - but they emailed me at about 5am while I slept.

    • I did! They must freeze the prices at the time you apply because 10 minutes later they had been snapped up! Got 4 people return flight to Gold Coast from Melbourne for $475!

      • You must've got lucky. I filled out the form when it was still $33 and they only just got back to me with a price beat on Tiger's normal price of $99 and not the $33. Admittedly the Tiger website said there were only 2 tickets left at $33.

        • Maybe they assess on a case-by-case basis (check how many seats are left on particular Jetstar flights etc), unless by the time you sent the form those 2 tickets had been snapped up? Once I'd filled out my form, I went straight back to Tiger and the outbound flight at the time I wanted was no longer available.

Thanks! Can't believe I scored cheap flights to Pax so close to the event, $66 return.

  • I'd take it that Tiger doesn't fly Perth to Adelaide from what I can see then?

    • Nope.

Best bet would be to wait for a Jetstar sale.

  • Thanks $99 to Perth & waiting price beat for Melbourne.

It has been more than 3hrs, I still haven't received an email from Jetstar

  • After 12 hours finally got pricematched!
