  • Cancelled my order from Aliexpress. Ordered this. Thanks.

  • Heads up, it's only the 6GB ram model

    • +1

i did't realize that there's a 8gb model … i mean thats a phone wow. would go for this definitely but my s7 still rocks

      • 8GB model only on 128GB version

    • +12

Only? That is plenty of RAM for a phone.

      • Yep. I have 4gb and I still only use half my ram these days.

I think 6gb will only become needed after about 3-4 years.

    • Is it just the 64gb models that are 6gb ram? Are all the 128gb 8gb ram?

      • +2

        Here's an excerpt from on the description for OnePlus 5 @ ShopMonk;
Internal: 64 GB, 6 GB RAM or 128 GB, 8 GB RAM

Based on the above 128 GB comes with 8GB and the one posted is 64 GB with 6 GB. Mind blowing amount of RAM INDEED. Hopefully both models would be blistering fast!

        • Having 4, 6 or 8GB RAM wouldn't make a difference for majority of apps.

        • @Ryballs: Based on what I've seen in reviews/comparisons, minimal difference while running, but the main difference is in time take to open apps that were previously running (and not all apps, just some) is quicker with the 8GB model. Their main take though is that the reason to spend extra for that model, is for the extra 64GB of storage more than the RAM.

Isn't this cheaper than buying from OnePlus directly? $479USD or $769SGD
How can they make money out of it?

    • +1

They may well be paying wholesale prices, not the retail prices quoted by OnePlus.

    • Loads of companies sell direct at full RRP but you can get cheaper elsewhere

  • Says 14-21 days shipping estimate, so probably about the same as Vaya. Knowing my luck if I cancel my Vaya one this one will go out of stock so sticking with it.

Does anyone know a decent case for it? I'm probably leaning towards the OnePlus Karbon Bumper on looks and the Spigen case on price.

I ordered a different phone from Shopmonk eBay Store last night, it says estimated time of delivery between 7 September to 14 September.

Guess what I just received an email from Shopmonk that my item has been dispatched with DHL Express Shipping and will be delivered in 3-5 days.

WoW, I mean, just 😳, really impressed. This is the second time, as my first order of Bose QC35 reached at my door step in just 48 hours.

      • Have you got your phone yet?

        • +1

Yes, it was delivered last week friday.

        • @OzSikh: wish they were that fast with all of the orders.

        • @OzSikh: Was the box sealed?
Which country wall adapter did you receive?

  • +1

I tried calling customer care on 1300 304 508. But there is no response ever. Always goes in voicemail.

  • Considering the G6 or OP5. If I had more money, I might have bought it to replace my old and slow 2gb ram phone. Possibly next time.

  • +1

    This or the Mi 6

    • Many reviews from China suggest this one.

    • After a ton of research and deliberation, I ordered myself a MI 6 off AliExpress. With cash back, it came to around 490 aud + free DHL shipping

  • This or the Mi 6.
This has AMOLED display but I assume the camera on the Mi 6 is better

    • Mi6 is smaller but stunning. While everyone said 1+5 is not as diligent as before because it looks completely like iPhone.
But mi6 doesn't have headphone jack.

      • Smaller is better for me, I don't want a huge fondleslab in my pocket.

Still the difference isn't that big, 5.15" for Mi6 vs 5.5 for 1+6

The 4.6" of the Z3 compact is still my ideal size.

I'm still on OnePlus One, it's such a durable phone.

    • +2

Me too. I want to upgrade but my phone is rock solid reliable and the battery still lasts through the day. Longest period I've stuck with a smart phone before. Great investment.

    • +1

Likewise, though mine shipped with a tiny dead pixel in the centre of the screen (OnePlus wouldn't replace or fix it), battery life over the past 18 months has only been a few hours and it sometimes turns itself off with 50% battery remaining. A few months ago I replaced the battery with a 'genuine' item from eBay but this seems to have done little. I'm reluctant to ever get a OP again, given their lack of integrity and the massively increased price of their latest phone. However, buying from an ABN-registered company does avail the buyer of statutory remedies for failure to comply with consumer guarantees under the ACL (surplus to any 'limited warranty' offered by the reseller or manufacturer). A reasonable person would arguably expect that, in handing over half a grand for a phone, it remains alive and well with proper care for at least four years. Had I been able to purchase my OPO from an AU seller, I imagine that the phone would be in a better state than the one I'm holding. In spite of their catchy motto, I had to 'settle' fairly early with OP's quality control and customer service arrangements.

    • I gave mine to my wife, got a G4, the G4 broke, wife got a better phone now I am back to my OPO. This bloody thing works fine :), I have no reason to change it…

    • I'm on a OP2. Needs a reboot more frequently then my older phones did (iPhone 3 and HTC 7), and the battery is so so. Lasts nearly a day of moderate use. Also, don't ever break the screen, it's a pain in the ass to find somewhere to get it fixed.

    • I gave mine to family but it's still going strong. I wish they would bring back the detachable backs. I had the bamboo one and it was cool. Now it's just an iphone clone.

  • So, what is the practical performance downside of this 5 form factor having the screen being inserted inverted?

  • Keyboard latency is a deal breaker for me.

    • reference?

OP5 feels more responsive and lower latency compared to pixel XL.

Should I wait for official Australian launch (soft launch) coming soon?

    How is shopmonks

    returns/repair process?(loooong and frustrating?)

This oneplus has global band support right?

Any one who has oneplus5 from shopmonk please care and share your experience

    Peace out 😎

    • +1

I would. They have sh((t customer service though, so I'm conflicted buying the new one (I have a OP2). The hardware is soooo good for the price, but literally everything else (software support, customer service, returns etc are just shocking).

      • +3

Are you referring to OnePlus' customer service or Shopmonk's?

        • -3

          Shopmonks.

        • Both are woeful.

        • OnePlus. I have no experience with Shopmonk.

    • I would wager that the Aussie model will be at least AU$699 for 64GB storage.

  • 1+ 5 = 6

  • +1

I'm waiting for the Aussie launch. And I agree with Hedonistic that the customer service (in China) is sh*t. Hopefully they get local customer service.

    • Me too

      • And local RRP! 🙁

  • +2

Great price but no card slot is a killer for One plus five and Mi6, unless it is 128gb.

    • Yep, the S7 is probably still the best in this price range.

Only problem with S7 is that it is sealed. Almost impossible to open to replace the battery once it dies.

    • You can use a USB TYPE C card reader, I use a TYPE C adapter with mine although it's the 128GB model, this phone can actually take up to 4TB external storage and use any keyboard/mouse input

  • Is it worth paying an extra $150 for the s8?

I'm kind of torn between them.

  • is this their normal price or just on sale a certain of time? Thanks

  • Best to buy off eBay, I bought the 128GB model for $660 delivered. 1 year warranty and delivery took 4 days to Melbourne VIC from Hong Kong. I can send the link if anyone wants it!

    • can I have the link pls. what is your experience with it anyway?

  • good case for anyone who got this phone. $15.99 with Ptech20 code.

  • Back in stock!!!

    • hi, I ordered mine ytd, when it will be shipped eta?

    • Just as I was about to settle for the Vaya eBay deal for $15 more, I'm glad I checked this for restock. Thanks!

    • When is the end date for this deal?

    • any eta on when they are being shipped?

      • +2

This is our regular price until sold out. We usually despatch orders in 1-5 days and please allow extra 5 days for delivery.

        • Ordered and received confirmation on 17/8 (4th day), I do really hope the order will be dispatched today or tomorrow.

        • Any update on shipping times?

  • just ordered one. thanks!

    • Did you get an ETA?

      • nothing yet.

      • +1

They said it took 1-5 days to despatch. I am still waiting on shipping out email from them. A bit disappointed, expected faster than that when I heard feedback from others who bought from them.

        • when did you place the order?

        • +1

@smerm07: that's what they said above. I place order last week. Still processing.

        • Mine just got marked as shipped.

          I ordered on Saturday

  • +1

Can I have an ETA when the item will be shipped?

About to cancel my current contract (2 months left)… and port the number into a new service provider.
I believe Galaxy S3 and Oneplus 5 SIM size are different… so an ETA would be well appreciated

    Cheers

  • Anyone got the phone despatched email?

    • Got dhl text this morning

      • when did you order?

        • 17th august. delivery is super quick, its already in aus

        • @fapnguyen: thanks. I order 1 day after, hopefully they will despatch mine soon. Had quite high expectation for them from others' feedbacks. But seem like their speed starts dropping down.

FYI. Oneplus 5 Aussie soft launch pricing announced: $599 for 64GB and $699 for 128GB. Comes with free sandstone case and 2 year warranty. But it will ship with UK Charger! I guess $55 extra is worth is for warranty. Wish it had AU charger though.

    Launching August 29, 10AM.

    https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/oneplus-5-join-our-soft-l…

    • I would wait for this if I heard of it earlier. It has been a week since I placed my order on Shopmonk and still not despatched yet. Might get it later than people who are going to buy from the soft launch program.
For the price, $56 extra for 1 more year of warranty and the sand case from Oneplus. Not too bad.

      • +1

        19/08/2017

  • I placed the order on Thursday morning and got the shipping confirmation on same night. Expected delivery on Monday.

  • Shopmonk - you'll have tough competition from oneplus as its getting launched next week in Australia with price ~580.

    • +1

The oneplus website says $599, where did you get your figure from?

  • Placed an order and received DHL tracking, but the 10 digit tracking code doesn't work on either the DHL or AusPost site. Been 4 working days.

    • When did you place the order?

      • About 6-7 working days ago. I got in touch with them via email, and after several days, they provided me with a new tracking code that actually works. According to tracking, parcel left Singapore yesterday and due to arrive tomorrow.
