  • The Melb one is $55 (usually $70). If this is true, it's a good deal!

  • The Melbourne price works out to be $55.69. I think you have the ex GST and ex C/C processing fee. Both of which are unavoidable.
    Nevertheless, good deal.

  • Supposed to be delivered to a business address or pickup from their office only.
Although I'm not sure how closesly the entbook people keep an eye out for that.
They use couriers please from memory.

I have access to a different link but same deal because I work for one of the merchants as well.

  • +5

I just purchased the electronic version and it has been processed and I can start using the app now.

  • +7

you sure you allowed to share this link?

    • Shhhhhhh…

    • Says in big letters "Please note that this offer is for staff of The Star Entertainment Group only and anyone found not to be eligible will have their membership cancelled and money refunded."

  • This is a good deal. I have a digital version already… thinking if I should get another one for my parents…

  • Thanks OP purchased

They're running a father's day special where existing members can gift a membership for $50 (sydney, melb). Other cities have similar discounts. So that's a cheaper option, if you know someone with a membership already.

Not sure if it stacks with the $10 wish card.

    • +1

You just saved me $5! You're a legend.

    • Still don't know how to get it. I logon to the entertainment book website and I can only buy OTHER city memberships. Mine is Melbourne and I couldn't find Melbourne in the list. Shame I unsubscribed their emails… Can you give more details for the $50 deal plz?

      • +1

        Try this link

You need to login, so it might be a targeted offer?

        • It works!! I login and can see the Melbourne book in the list! Bought the digital and got it. Thank you so much.. I don't think I will get the $10 Wish gift card.

Not everything can be handed on a silver platter for you in life.

        • I been here a while and never seen no silver platter. Is is there a link to claim one or do you have to have dual citizenship to get the it? lol

So can people elaborate why they've reported this for illegal/inappropriate?

    • I haven't reported it but it's a private link thats supposed to be for the merchant's staff only.

  • Is "The Star Entertainment Group" another name for "Ozbargain members"?

  • i'm not their staff, but I used to be their VIPs………………………………………

    • +1

Used to be……casinos thats what they do

  • What's this book good for? I've never purchase one before

    • Check the previews on their website.

  • Thanks OP.

What's the voucher code for? Doesn't seem to require it?

    • +1

      It's in the Op's URL

    • +1

Its the ending url bit, not sure why op put it there. It identifies who the fundraising organization is.. Or in this case which merchant staff purchase link it belongs to

      • got me excited a bit, thinking another $15 off lol.

  • Link doesn't work?

  • Seems to be turned off?

    It's telling me

What on earth has happened to the Perth Entertainment Book over the past couple of years? It's like they've just given up, there's less and less offers every single time I renew. I wonder if I can cancel this… just purchased the digital edition but there's bugger all in it compared to 5 years ago.

    • its probably not the entertainment books fault but rather the local business don't want to support it

      • +1

I'm hoping they find out I'm not a Star employee and refund my order.

  • +6

Going out for lunch now. Gotta redeem some now before they take it away.

    • +2

Me too. Go for gold! 🥇

      • Just saved $10 taking my Mum out for lunch at a local Cafe. Worth!

    • Buy yourself a gift membership while you can…

  • Looks like they realized something is wrong.

They put a note saying if anyone is not a staff membership will be revoked and monies refunded

    • Show 'em your badge

      • lol.

        What a fun killer :-)

  • I bought one. Wonder what will happen?

    • +1

Ditto. I did get mine already… better go get lunch right now!!

Also i've gone and bought $500 of woolies vouchers. That way, if it does get cancelled i'm actually ahead by $25. I needed them anyway

      • +1

Huh? Can't you buy discounted woolies gift cards from cash rewards without spending anything?

        • +1

Well there you go, i actually didn't know that. Last time i'm pretty sure it was just a one off thing

        • @jellykingdom:

There's several membership sites around that sell discounted gift cards for various shops - nrma, agl rewards, dodo rewards, smart salary, etc

Just need to find one that you have access to without purchasing another membership.

Cashrewards is good, because it's free signup, but it only does Woolworths cards, from what I know.

        • @jellykingdom:
If you don't care about CC points there are members selling @7% off WW eGCs.

        • @KBZ: where at??

        • @sp00ker: Yeah i've bought through Dodo and AGL, but a lot of them charge credit card surcharge, so suddenly it ain't great value

        • @jellykingdom:
PM @illumination your PM is disabled.

  • Not sure how sharing exclusive deals, that by use of the general public would be breaking the T&C, is considered a "deal"

  • RIP

  • +4

I'd be surprised if they cancelled memberships and refunded money. They've just got a fair few new members who wouldn't have bought a membership because they weren't even thinking about it. I got in and bought one and will make the most of it.

    • They're probably not making money on this and the chance you of buying the book from them again instead of another organisation is very slim. So the new members who aren't their targeted audience aren't as valuable as you think imo.

      • True, however I'm guessing nearly everyone (including me) that grabbed one this morning bought the digital version. I'm sure they would still be making something off it considering that (in my location) it was only $15 off. You can normally get them for $10 off with a referral so not that much cheaper. I'm pretty sure I would never have bought one but looking through the offers in my area I'm going to try to make good use of it and may become a repeat buyer.

      • From what I can tell, they charge restaurants to participate and only share a portion of the sales with the charity … Hard to see how they're not making any money on the deal.

Also, it's would be impossible for them to determine who the legitimate employees are.

They drop the price in the middle of the year anyway.

        • A friend of mine owns a restaurant that participates in the entertainment book. They can purchase books for cost price of $55 each (book is rrp$70 ). For $45-55 (each region price is different), it's basically cost price

only share a portion of the sales with the charit

I think that portion is the discount in the deal, thats the profit for resellers.

        • @Ughhh:

Does he have to pay a fee to advertise in the book?

        • @sp00ker:

Can't remember, will have to ask. If they do, it'll further eat the organisation/charity/book resellers profit… So no/less money made on the deal.

        • @sp00ker: my mate said they dont have to pay to be in the book, they just need to honor the deal

        • @bowtiehoon:

          Interesting…

So sad I just missed out on this - I was planning to buy the entertainment book this week! Bah!

LOL I wonder if they'll even bother in refunding the digital books.

  • Received my Entertainment book in the mail today :)

  • Received mine in the mail yesterday. Thanks!
