These shopmonk guys are killing it…

      Yeah they're onto it.

Desperately waiting for the QC35's to come on sale again around the $260 mark.

        • Same. I hate Bose but it would be an awesome present for my mum who wants ANC headphones.

        • +9

I've invited them onto Price Hipster. When they get their product feed sorted you'll be able to set a price alert. :-)

        • @Zorlin: I've never really tried over-ear design ANC headphones (always had much cheaper on-ear headphones which would cause pain after half an hours of use). But after listening to the QC35's my god they have amazing sound and extremely comfortable for long wear use - ANC particularly handy for long international flights!

        • Precisely - no matter what you think of them, Bose has the best ANC on the market.

        • @Zorlin: Best to try the Sony MDR-1000X. I have them and by far, their ANC is superior to the QC35

        • @Slave1: They also cost 2-3x as much! :)

        • @Zorlin: I paid $340 for my pair from JB! :)

  • Damn, I bought the MobileCiti deal last week. Need to convince myself that the extra money is worth it for local stock, right? 😄

    • +6

Yes. Right decision you have made.😂

    • +1

Better book a flight and claim trs to make yourself feel better =p

      • +3

Funny thing is that I was actually in Singapore last week and ordered it while I was there 😐

    • +3

Pay extra for 2 years peace of mind, well worth it.

    • Better with local stock.

  • +1

Bose QC35 for 299 and sell 10000 pieces in 2-3 hours Shopmonk, beat Amazon before they are here :D

  • +4

They need to release a Mavic Pro fly more pack for less than $1000.

    • Haha I was about to say the same thing.
Hanging for these guys to cut in the market with good prices on drones!

    • Yes!

  • +2

This is a good deal but I would rather pay a bit more and get a local Apple Australia warranty. Nothing more annoying then needing to ship a damaged phone off to Shopmonk for repairs. With a local warranty Apple generally just give you a new phone if they cannot fix yours easily. Much less down time!

    • Just to clarify - we can't go to an Australian Apple store for warranty if it's non-Australian stock?

      • +4

Yes you can. Dunno what op is on about. Apple warranty is international.

        • yep - my understanding is that it's international warranty 1 year - but won't be covered under ACL for 2nd year

        • +2

          As mentioned above by @ausdday;

          https://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/products/ios-warranty-r…

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD AND APPLE TV SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

Not sure if anyone has actually ever had any issues, though?

        • Cheers

        • No you cannot. Apple warranty is not international when it comes to iPhones.

        • You a misleading people here. Apple warranty is not international for anything with cellular service.

        • @highdealer: I have a Canadian iPhone that's been switched out twice under warranty

        • @blergmonkeys: Just because it work for you doesn't mean it will work for everyone else. You got lucky.

My personal exprience is that they refuse to service my phone bought from SG.

        • @highdealer: seems you were unlucky. I've serviced quite a few Canadian iPhones here in Australia with no issue. Multiples of my own, my fathers, why wife's. Never had a problem. It's why we buy apple - the warranty is exceptional.

        • higherdealer wasn't unlucky, Apple were just being consistent with the terms in their warranty document.

I think you were unlucky, having so many issues with iPhones?

    • Agree and although it's a good discount, spending $1k on a model that will be (double) superseded as early as next month with the 7S and the 8 (or whatever they'll call the new ones) is not something I would recommend anyone.

Any deal for iPhone 7 plus?

  • Is it easy to buy a phone in Singapore at this price point?

  • COME ON DO THE 7 PLUS!!!!

    • I don't understand why 7plus, Pixel XL and S8+ aren't put on sale.

  • Should I buy this now or wait for price drop after new iphone announced???

    • Prices for Iphone 7 won't drop much until Iphone 9 release. Look at Iphone 6 pricing now.

      • Since they'll be dropping 2 new versions, I'm confident that the 7 will drop in price significantly, especially this 256GB model.

  • Please do Nokia 8 later this year!

Again Shopmonk is claiming the phone has 1-year Apple worldwide warranty which is false. I notified them last time that this is not the case but they continue to mislead.

Other Apple branded products have international warranty but not iPhone and iPad.

    • +1

I bought an iPhone 7 Plus from the US (On Swappa) and had an issue with it and it was covered under warranty in Australia no problems at all. The Apple store swapped it over no questions asked, only issue was being Jet Black I needed to wait a few days for stock to come in for the change over.

Also when checking the warranty to sell the phone, it even states that the ACL applies, but I cannot confirm that they would have repaired it as it was still under the 12 month warranty and I no longer have it.

      • Yep, you are one of the fortunate ones. I have also heard of others that have successfully claimed warranty on grey import iPhones but there are also many others that have been turned downed.

For Shopmonk to claim that the Apple international warranty applies to the iPhones they sell is just not correct.

        • Well there you go. I did not realise that. Maybe I was lucky, but they honestly didn't even bat an eyelid. Was super smooth.

        • It even says that in Apple's warranty document, see Marty131's comment above.

  • Not sure if this has been covered. Does shop monk provide GST receipt. Thanks

It wasn't provided with my phone (no paperwork/invoice whatsoever). Shipping is extremely quick, purchased Monday evening and received it today

I ordered LG G4 from their eBay and received a used product, and without battery.

    http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-G4-Dual-LTE-LGH818N-32gb-White-Y…

Delivery was via DHL and very quick, ordered on 14/8 and sent on 15th, received today on 17th. Just to go back home.

Phone looked like it was used without any case for about a year. It had damage on back cover and battery was missing.

I have filmed the opening process so I will use this to make a claim on eBay.

    • can u upload the video or something? I want to see if my opening process for their item was like that, didn't really take note of if my product was used or not

      • I appear in the video myself and contains personal address so won't upload here now but I can PM you if you want.

        • PM as well if you are ok with it please.

    • Hello junoz86- Could you please contact via eBay, Do a return request please. I will get it investigated- Happy to do full refund/or a replacement.

      • That's what I am doing right now. This looks like purchased from a 2nd hand shop, and was sent directly to me without even opening the package.
Refund please, I doubt you have any new stock.
I can't even see any effort to make it "look like" new.
Seriously, waste of time and money. I bought screen protector and case for this product as well.

Update: Shopmonk apologized for mistake and offered a replacement new unit, and $50 PayPal refund. They sent me a return label soon after. Not sure if this was a genuine mistake as I haven't seen them selling 2ndhand G4s but their customer service is quick and I am satisfied.
