Would you need to apply for chinese visa if you stay overnight?

    • +1

OP said "No visa required for transits up to 72 hours."

      • +1

Guangzhou is not a completely bad place. But flights into and out of china are ALWAYS delayed

  • Thanks a bunch OP. I bought tickets to japan but a friend wants to join me, so this helps with their budget.
Also i appreciate the effort put into the post

  • Lol the title made it sound like you could travel to all three for that price!

I guess I've been here too long and expecting hardcore bargains lol.

Nevertheless, still a good deal! :D

Economy ticket: Three star or three star equivalent standard accommodation is provided free of charge, 2 people/room.
If i go solo, does it mean i have to share hotel room with a stranger or i have to pay half @_@

    • +1

Well it depends. In Guangzhou and Shenzhen they are likely to give you own room (I had 5 star hotel on economy ticket) if you travel solo. They have plenty of hotel partnerships there. In Urumqi I had to share room with a stranger.

P.S. airport is very far away from city centre in Guangzhou

      • It looks like free accommodation only applies to Guangzhou, same as 72 hours free transit visa.
It's not worth it to get one night hotel but actually a hassle seeing that flight will arrive at 4PM then next flight out the next morning. Cannot do much in the evening and cannot sleep well afraid of missing the early morning flight.

Yep in theory sounds good but in practice it is a hassle. I was so tired after red eye flight that did not have time to see anything but hotel between evening arrival and morning departure. To get to the hotel you'll have to wait till there is a group of people to fill transfer bus might be up to an hour.

Finding transfer desk in huge airport also difficult. The common scam is that the guy in uniform will approach you and tell that they will take you to a free hotel but you will have to pay for a transfer - do not fall for it CSA never charges for transfer!! Never give your passport to solo people in uniform who are not behind the official desk at Guangzhou!

Go find that transfer DESK! Do not follow solo strangers in CSA uniform!!

  • One more clarification: 2 nights free stay means one night outbound and one night return? Do i have to get the free 72 hours transit visa twice? Thank you.

    • +1

1 night outbound, 1 night inbound. Wouldn't add up to 72 hours but given you've left the country between visits, the clock resets.

  • What price for flying from Sydney to Guangzhou only? Am at a trip during October.

  • From August 10, visa policy changes only in Guangzhou Airport in China, and free accommodation becomes impossible. if you don't have china visa

  • Has anyone successfully gained free transit accommodation & transfers with China southern, China Eastern or Korean Air having booked through a third party website? I have been informed through industry briefing notes that only flights booked direct recieve transit offer and then only if and no options exist for a faster transit time.

In regard to this particular deal, I do not believe that the transit accommodation would be offered. http://global.csair.com/KG/GB/GZMZ clearly states that the offer us only available for economy class tickets coded with Y/B/M for main segment. It also adds that, passengers holding some large-discount economy class tickets, mileage-redeemed tickets and airline employee tickets are not qualified for enjoying free hotel accommodation. The website query results shall prevail. Having made a dummy booking the tickets are economy class T.
