  • Been on them for 3 months, only thing I miss is Int. Roaming

  • Does kogan allow access to 4g?

    • yes they do

    • +1

I reckon something posted here with no 4G wouldn't be well received these days lol

      • I'm still using 3g all the time lol.

        Iphone battery :(

        • Does 4g drain the battery faster?

        • Yes.
Well, ever since the new radios in QSD 800 it isn't that bad.

          That's why there's a huge battery life difference between the SGS4/Nexus 4 and Nexus 5/Note 3.

  • can you do this deal for data sim?

    • +6

      Just don't call anyone.

  • +2

Was with Optus 3 weeks ago paying $40 per month for unlimited calls and 10gb data. Was reluctant to change providers. Paying $26 for unlimited calls and 14gb data. Been with kogan mobile (powered by Vodafone) for 3 weeks now and haven't had any issues! Extremely happy with service so far. Won't be moving back to Optus. After ensurin all my details were correct as per instructions, my number was successfully transferred over in 30 minutes. No complaints.

  • +1

Kogan just won me over. wp

    • You won't regret it! Just make sure you follow all the instructions carefully, especially putting down the right names

  • +3

can i use the discount vouchers from this deal

    • +1

Yes, I did for the last deal that expired at the end of August.

      • If I wanted to buy the $315.08, can I use three gift card from Woolworths to purchase it or I can only redeem one voucher?

        • +1

You can use all of them. You are just adding credit to your Kogan account when you redeem them.

    • +2

Whoa nice. This should be added to OP!

  • +3

Already locked a year in for a 1gb deal RIP

    • -2

      Thanks for letting us know.

  • +1

Not a bad deal, I have both husband and daughter on Kogan. However I will renew with Lebara when their plan is finished because you also get some international credit. Also at times they do the 1 year 5gb @$180, so you pay less than Kogan and you get credit to call overseas. Also you can roam.

  • Does anoybody know of a way to set the Android data usage monitor to reset every 30 days instead of every calendar month on the same date?

    • +3

I'm not sure but the kogan mobile app provides live data usage report

  • +3

I've just convinced my mother to join as I had so many existing credits on the account: $20 Birthday code + $10 Welcome back code + $10 referral code. I purchased $150 worth of discounted Kogan gift cards and paid the remainder using my credit card. So I paid ~$150 for the 5gb plan (~$12.70 per 31day equivalent). Bloody bargain!

    • +2

Bloody bargain! Convince more people! your dog even! :)

      • Hahaha thanks again tajid you legend!

    • So its possible to stack Kogan gift cards?

      • +1

Yes it'll add on top of existing credits on the account.

  • +1

I went on it as a guinea pig, found it awesome so changed my girlfriend over from Vaya a couple months back, now I'll convert my mom and sister over from horrific virgin mobile plans, really awesome deal

  • Can I continue on with that same deal after a year?

    • i am sure that in a years time there will be better deals to move to… data seems to be getting cheaper.

  • Can we use Kogan Gift for this. Kogan Gift card is 10% off at woolworths

  • +1

On TeleChoice monthly $20 right now and this looks really good. Any comments on network coverage for Telstra vs Voda esp. in the Macquarie/Ryde area?

    • ryde seems fine :)

    • Voda around Macquarie is fine as well.

Uni complex though the reception isn't as strong.

  • +1

I can't seem to find this deal, even clicking on the deal link or referral link. I am looking for 365 days package, all the deals I can see are for 30 days only.

    • Link works fine for me.

  • +1

Is this stackable if i already have an existing kogan mobile?

    • +1

      No. Read comments above.

      • Oh (not) cool, I also wanted to know.

TODAY SHOW EXCLUSIVE. OFFER ENDS SEP 18TH, 2017 AT 11:59PM AEST

Why in OP does it say this offer only valid for 21, 23, 25 Aug when I see this message on their site?

    • This was the email sent by kogan customer service - it does sound odd that you would have to purchase the voucher on these days - I would assume if the link remains valid you can buy up until the promotion offer finishes - if you are concerned you could contact kogan directly

  • Live in Sunnybank. Anyone else in Brisbane; how is the coverage? Any issues?

    • +2

Hi, MacGregor (Garden City) coverage is great, you won't have any issues.

      • +1

        Thanks for replying!

  • +1

do they have data sharing sims like optus ?

i have more data devices than just my phone

  • what happens after one year? How much will it be monthly? for the $16.90 / 5GB

    • +1

See what options are available. Kogan may release cheaper plans. Or port to another provider.

    • You worry about that after 1 year, there will always be another telco deal.

  • Gonna need this deal at the end of November when the last 12 months I bought expires

    • Has to be activated by 30 Sept.

  • does the voucher come through email pretty quickly after you make the purchase?
Also, whats the expiry date of this voucher? i had a new kogan sim card pack from last deal , can i use the voucher for a month then use this voucher next month?

    • Comes through I'd say 10mins after payment confirmation. Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 30/09/2017. I think so, but from above comments it seems like it overrides whatever plan you are on - does not stack.

  • Isn't there a referal credit you can get as well for $10 or has that finished? Also any specials on Kogan Gift Cards?

    • referral links at the bottom of the post - someone posted earlier in the comments about kogan gift card specials

  • Kill me. I just purchased the 5g $299 last night.

    • +1

Ok tell me where you live, Mr. fvknl

  • When does the year start, from when you purchase or when you activate?

    • +2

      From when you activate it.
At least, that is what happened when I used my last voucher.

Just make sure you activate before the expiry (seems to be end of September going by above posts).

  • Anyone know how long the SIM stays alive (ie you don't lose your number) after the paid for plan expires (is it the same with all Aust carriers??)

    • It expires about 30 days (a month) after your paid plan expires so if you really want to keep your number, make sure you deal with it before that otherwise it can get messy.

is it the same with all Aust carriers??

Nope. Some last longer. I think Amaysim lasts about a year, Woolies Mobile/Telstra/Optus (and I assume Coles Mobile) last about 6 months

  • is this deal expired? I checked kogan website today and it's showing the original price at the moment: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-prepaid-voucher-co…

  • +1

With Kogan couldn't be happier, for $20/month bargain was paying $50/month on telstra BYO… when my daughters Optus deal is up will be moving her across too…

  • Will vodafone to vodafone discounted calls work if call from vodafone mobile to a kogan mobile?

  • +1

I called Kogan mobile (12612) today and was advised that this offer is only for new customer only. Has anyone tried to do recharge on this? If yes, could you please kindly guide me how to do so (since the recharge section on koganmobile doesn't give you any discount)? Also in this case, do I need to change my sim card for the recharge? Thank you for anyone willing to help. :)

    • Just sign up under a family members name.

    • +1

So many conflicting comments. Page 1 has comments saying that it can be used for existing customers (and that it won't stack, but replace your existing plan). I'm going to call them tomorrow to confirm this.

    • +2

Confirming this works for existing customers. Use the voucher code that's emailed to you to recharge. Instructions here: https://help.koganmobile.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/226888227-…

      • Thank you for confirming. Have you tried it yourself? Also, do I need to change to my new Kogan sim card or keep using my current sim when recharging? Cheers.

        • +1

          I just did this morning.

          Same card.

        • @tajid:
Does this add months to your plan if you still have existing months?

        • @suudo: no your old one will be overwritten. You may be able to ask for refund for the unused portion though.

Kogan uses Vodafone network, which is rubbish.
I was with Vodafone , and I paid early termination fees to get out the contract , but I still did it coz of poor network.
For example as soon as I walked into the warehouse I worked in ( warehouse with metal roof) , I hardly had any coverage and that’s is Springvale , Melbourne.

Secondly , stay away from anything that gets advertised in Today's show.

    • +1

I think it's important to note that YMMV. Voda might be crap for you and that's totally understandable, but plenty of people clearly have no issues with their coverage - just read through all the posts above.

I did a trip from Darwin to Adelaide recently and in one of the small towns, my Telstra mobile had zero signal while my friends on Optus had a usable signal. That was quite unexpected!

  • Hey guys, what about Kogan Mobile Prepaid Voucher Code: EXTRA LARGE (30 Days | 14GB). Can I purchase a 12 of it = $120 per year for 14GB per month or it doesn't work like that?

    • Doesn't work like that. For new customers only. The first month is fine but each subsequent month you're not a new customer

      • Yes I can, you don't know that I got 12 ID. John Doe here.

        • You can but that deal is not always available + those voucher codes have "have to be activated before xxx date"

  • According to the post, does that mean I have to activate the sim card and use the voucher before 31st August?
When I asked the customer service, they have no clue about this promotion. Weird

    • +1

      30/9

      • It states that any recharge done on or before the promotion ends is eligible for the discount on the actual price point. The promotion ended 30/8 so have to recharge before the promotion ends

        • +1

No it means you have to BUY the "recharge" a.k.a coupon before the promotional period ends… It makes no sense to interpret it in the way that you have. You buy the coupon in advance to recharging, so in what way will an increase in price affect you if you already have a coupon on hand that expires on the 30/9?

  • Sweet, used a random referral and got $10 off.

  • You get unlimited calls and text for 365 days, and 14gb data per 30 days. So what happens in the final 5 days of the 365 days? Because 12 lots of 30 days is 360… do you get another 14gb for those 5 final days? or do you have no data?

    • Description & link says 365 days access.

    • You get 14gb for the last 5 days

3(d) Each Kogan Mobile Recharge Product with an expiry of 365 days comes with a Total Data amount which is split into 30 day blocks as per the Data Replenishment Amount Per 30 Days specified in the table above from days 1 – 360. From days 361 – 365 the remainder of the Total Data (a pro rata of the Data Replenishment Amount Per 30 Days) is added to the account.

  • how do people get $20 off birthday code? have to link Kogan Account to facebook or paypal to get that? the sign up doesn't ask for DOB

    • +1

      From Qantas.

      • hi Tajid, after you link the quantas frequent flyer number to kogan, it adds $20 to your kogan account when your birthday comes? or quantas will email you a code to use at kogan?

        • The latter.

Early month of your birthday, Qantas sends you an email with a lot of discount codes, including Qantas Hotel, the Iconic and Kogan.

You would get this email regardless whether you have Kogan account or not.

  • i bought the voucher on 23rd, can I cancel it?

    • if you haven't activated it then yes you can request for a refund.

  • where does it says offer expired 31/8/17?
when i click in , it says "TODAY SHOW EXCLUSIVE. OFFER ENDS SEP 18TH, 2017 AT 11:59PM AEST" ?

    • It must have been extended :O
