no deal, Etihad is pretty much the same price with AMXROW code with the date i used.

One mans' no deal isn't necessarily someone else's no deal tuzii.

An example might be someone who prefers to fly on a specific airline alliance (i.e. Oneworld) because they want to make sure they earn or get status for another year, and this Qatar deal is better for them as a result.

      • i can keep oneworld status with etihad as they codeshare with airberlin.

I wouldn't be so sure about that tuzii, Air Berlin filed for insolvency last week, as Etihad has pulled out of the carrier and won't be providing any more financial support. The German government has given them a bridging loan to keep them operational for 90 days, until the owners, bankers, etc sort out what to do with the company.

Likely scenario is the company will be broken up, with Lufthansa and Easyjet picking up relevant parts of the airline:

        • @thewinchester:
yeah not for much longer, but for now the alliance EY has made stays in place.

Could you argue the Etihad one is not a deal because there's this one instead? Different people might want to fly on different airlines.
