  • Was $149?

$31 for a 1TB HDD, anyone know what model the HDD is?

    • -2

no, I bought one only to pull the HDD out.

      • Ah, we've been here before…
Second hand HDD with probably lot of use storing large files.

Usually use CE HDD in PVR for fast access to large files - without error checking! That works well on PVR as data changes little between 'frames', but not what you want in computers.

i'd be pairing it (purely as storage) with a primary SSD.

    • Sorry you meant HDD model n not item model no. My bad reading.

  • Says 'coupon not found' when I try to apply it.

    • you need to be registered and logged in.

and 3 uses of coupon maximum

      • Yep, just realised that. Now it says Out of Stock 🙁

  • Damn! Was going to get one of these!

  • Good bargain but missed it :(

Great price but not sufficient stock for a published deal.
The original poster got 1 and well done but how is it that more positive votes are being generated for an expired deal?

Great price but not sufficient stock for a published deal.

I actually checked the stock level when I first posted by adding 15 units to my cart. and the soniq site allowed it.

how is it that more positive votes are being generated for an expired deal?

people appreciate deals being posted. You'd realise that if you actually posted deals…..

  • Was back in stock briefly somehow so bought one and received order/payment confirmation email.

    • Cancelled/refunded 2 days after I ordered.

    received today.

I was under the misguided (and purely my own invented) belief it would be a 2.5" hdd. sadly 3.5".

      If only you had asked😭

I've reviewed over 20 different PVR - always 3.5" HDD as plenty of space to fit those & no benefit from physically smaller units.

Heat dissipation in PVR is vital as HDD may be operating so many hours a day storing large files (2 at same time from twin HD tuners), so heat dissipation may be improved with physically larger HDD. Heat kills PVRs. PVR usually lack a fan for cooling to keep unit quiet.

HDD is usually on - ready to record, whenever PVR is on & may never be turned off. So HDD in PVR can have a hard life.

PVR & video surveillance digital recorders use "CE" (Consumer Electronics) or "AV" HDD in this case lacking error checking to speed large video file storage - hence 3.0Gb/s. So not designed to be used in computers as files become corrupted.
