If you're looking for a grey import S8/S8+, might as well get it from Amazon if you don't mind US Version (Snapdragon 835). It's carrier unlocked, and yes Band 28 is included.

Don't get the point of this. For $861 you can always find a brand new device with proof of purchase on gumtree.

    • But if you buy off Gumtree, then that's second hand

Obviously you failed to read my post

But buying off individual person is not the same as brand new. You can't replace it if DOA. Extended credit card protections will not cover gumtree purchases. And some people are not comfortable buying expensive phones from individuals.

          @tukanglistrik:

That's all fair enough but it doesn't make a factory sealed phone second hand

        • @dosada: Yea but tukanglistrik's other points are very valid, to me the reason would be I wouldn't be comfortable and in no way can I be 100% sure the phone is in fact 100% local stock factory sealed brand new phones. Have come across too much crap on gumtree both as a seller and a buyer.

        • @jpsnail:

Absolutely agree with you. I was robbed about a year ago when selling a S7 so i have experienced what gumtree can be like.

You can tell if it is Australian stock by the model number, i.e. europe, us and so on have different model numbers.

  • just to confirm, does this work with telstra's 4G+ network ? I was planning to buy Note 8 due to the small price difference but now, its close to a double so I am very keen to buy it.

    Thanks in advance

    • The version on this offer corresponds to the ATT version: G950UZVAATT which is compatible with the following bands according to:

      https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-s8-sm-g950-g955-mod…

      2G GSM: GSM850,GSM900,DCS1800,PCS1900
      3G UMTS: B1(2100), B2(1900), B4(AWS), B5(850), B8(900)
      3G TD-SCDMA: B34(2010), B39(1880)
      4G FDD LTE: B1(2100), B2(1900), B3(1800), B4(AWS), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B12(700), B18(800), B19(800), B20(800), B28(700), B29(700), B30(2300)
      4G TDD LTE: B38(2600), B39(1900), B40(2300), B41(2500)

And the following bands are the ones in use in AU according to: http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/mobile_phone_frequencies

      Mandatory handset band support

      Telstra – 3G 850MHz (B5)
      Optus – 3G 900MHz (B8)
      Vodafone – 3G 900MHz (B8) 850MHz (B5)

      4G/LTE bands

Australia is currently using these LTE bands
2100Mhz (B1) – Telstra (a handful of sites), Optus (Tasmania), Vodafone
      1800Mhz (B3) – Telstra, Optus, Vodafone
      850Mhz (B5) – Vodafone
      2600Mhz (B7) – Telstra, Optus
900Mhz (B8) – Telstra (a handful of sites, utilises spectrum previously used by 2G)
      700Mhz (B28) – Telstra, Optus
      2300Mhz (B40) – Optus (Vivid wireless spectrum)

So As far I can tell, it seems compatible with most of the bands. Please make your own research and do not consider this as technical advise.

  • Is this the dual SIM Version or single SIM. Can't find anything in the Amazon description.

    • Mos def the single SIM variant.

  • US models have locked bootloader, just fyi for anyone who likes to customise.

  • Also this is the Snapdragon 835 variant. It is SLOWER than the Exynos variant

  • Still contemplating between note 8 or s8 plus

    note 8 after $250 note 7 discount = $1250 - tax refund = $1137.5
    s8 plus = $860

    Please help

    • It depends on whether you need the stylus and dual camera, otherwise they're almost the same.
