      Still editing, sorry!

      • Thank you.

        • Hang on, the store rep misled me. Can you even use the code on the silver one?

        • @ATangk: It's a site wide code. You can use it on any transaction over $75, regardless of seller/product.

        • @currentfad:
Okay, mb. I just didnt see all those subtitles on the product.

What drives are these? Want to crack it open to use as an internal drive.

  • I got an email from warehouse one this morn saying 20% off with code PRESENT, but that seems to be expired, maybe they will rectify

    • PRESENT expired yesterday midnight

      • Lol got an email at 11:47 am today

    • Stop making me feel bad…

    • That was cheaper. The current Amazon price + shipping is roughly the same as the cost of this, and this is local stock.

  • I had the red in the cart and they had 9 left, suddenly the listing ended, but they didnt sell any extra. So looks like they pulled the listing on purpose. This one might go down the same path: so i say get in quick before its pulled.

  • Is it SMR or PMR?

    • +1

      SMR

  • Thanks Op.. decisions again..I was all set to buy the 2tb from Officeworks for the Xbox..but this has me thinking..maybe I do need 5tb…lol

    • Well… I bought a 4Tb earlier this month. And then @congngo links me that above and I feel gutted. But I'll have filled up the other one by the end of the year so it doesn't hurt… riiight?

Do note that these 5Tb drives, whilst still portable, are thicker and weigh a bit more than your slimmer portable hard drives.

      • 4Tb of Linux ISOs it quite a lot…

      • A good rule of thumb is:
If you see a deal that is great, don't pull the trigger yet.
Wait a few days or hours, chances are there will be a better (awesome) deal posted!

For example, I got the W9 for $300 from eBay. A few days later they were $240 using the 20% off eBay code :-(
        Happens a lot.

        • Well i'd actually been looking for a while but didn't see any thats why I bought my 4TB WD My Passport. The colour is a bonus too, so I can sort stuff. And tbf that link expired within half an hour of posting. I check often but not THAT often.

Just purchased the blue one from them two days ago for $199 and it was a promo! They should offer same discount for that as they do now for the blue or silver one, otherwise this is unfair

  • life's not fair, that's why OzBargin exists. A little bit of balance in the game..

    • +1

Well regardless, we're all still ahead of those who don't use OzB.

You couldn't pay me enough so store anything worthwhile on a Segate drive. Thank me later

Ive never had any hard drive die on me, seagate or otherwise.
