    If you're using Word/Excel, they can already open and convert PDF docs. For every other format, there are multiple open source options for each.

    I'm geuinely curious, what makes this product worth purchasing even at reduced rate over the free options?

      Yes. Office supports converting their own files to PDF. But if you have multiple files and wish to convert them in batch process, using third-party software will be a good choice to save your time.
