    Really want one of these

    • +1

So do I, but when you've seen it at $370+ before..

      • +4

I will not pay more than $350 for it so either it has to come in a bundle or a price drop some time and I am willing to wait :)

        • +2

FYI, I have barely had a break from mine over the past 5 months. It's ssooo good!

        • @Hayness: I'm praying FIFA 18 Does well because then EA Will more than likely release more games for the switch and it badly needs more hardcore games :)

        • @Hayness:

Same! Have not touched the PS4 (at all) nor the PC (sorta) since getting the switch.

        • @SevenSmurfs:
Going back to my PS4 is like stepping back to the dark ages. It's so painfully slow, noisy and always accessing the HDD. The Switch is a dream!

        • So, everyone that can't get away from the switch, do we all have mario kart? I'm down to get some OZB multiplayer going - I don't want to wait until my next LAN!

        • @dfaktz: I thought switch is good with their Zelda game only?

      • Yeah…I feel like if I bought this Kogan is gonna do a sale for 370 in the next few days…

  • +1

Personally I would like to see a version 2 refinement.

    • What do you want changed..? The only negative is where they put the power socket tbh

    • you can wait forever, or enjoy now.. i dont see a switch2 coming for at least 3-4 years.

  • As it's not coming from a store am I missing out on anything here? As in warranty and such? I'm really thinking about going for this.

    • 12 month AU warranty is listed in the details on the page.

    • just be aware that the quality control of the switch doesnt appear to be the greatest. the first unit i got would not reboot and the right joycon was disconnecting repeatedly. much easier to take it back to the store and swap it right away than going through the warranty process.

  • Are these comments about how great the Nintendo Switch is for real? Obviously it doesn't have the power of an Xbox One X or a PS4 Pro, but is the portability truly such an imporant feature?

    • I know of many people with switches that now have other consoles including the xbox one and ps4 collecting dust. Myself included, for the last.. 3months its just been my switch and PUBG.

    • Have a go with one. I was impressed, to the point where I felt that the extra power of the other machines is a bit superfluous. The Switch does most of what they can in terms of graphics, but heaps that they can't in terms of lifestyle.

    • For me it's not the portability, is that power isn't important to me. Having Nintendo games is.

    • It is a really good console. I have barely touched my PS4 Pro since the Switch launched. I've been a PS player since the PSOne days.

Personally wouldn't buy until it reaches Xbox One S prices and even then maybe not since I have an android tablet for now and Nintendo's game selection is slim.

Wish though somebody would bring out a Windows version of this.

We have the nvidia shield tablet and many others for Android, iPad mini or iPad air for apple but nothing for Windows.

I would jump on a $400-500 AUD Windows tablet that could play some decent games at 720p 60 fps.

A surface pro is usually too expensive and not as powerful and chuwi and teclast I think is not as powerful enough to compete with these other cross platform tabs (please correct me if I am wrong).

Makes obvious sense then to market or have at least one major gaming tablet for the Windows platform, honestly thought nvidia would have done this by now or maybe even Razer or Sony.

      Nintendo's game selection is slim.

      Quality over Quantity.

      • +1

Quality my left foot. There are some good exclusive games, I'll give them that, but Nintendo tends to get 90% of the way there then just stop. Take a look at how USB drives work on the WiiU. The damn thing can't even feed enough power through a single USB port to power a drive, and if the drive's power saving kicks in you'll have to restart your console. Real quality there.

Has the whole thing about not being able to copy your save games been resolved with the Switch? Or is it once your console dies you get to start the game all over?

        • Not fixed yet. No cloud saves is pretty poor.

        • @Soluble:

I think after gatting their last 2 consoles owned Nintendo are determined not to let it happen a 3rd time. So no SD card slot, no drives, and back to cartridges. They might actually succeed but in the process they've made this console undesirable to a large segment of their market. Will be interesting to see what sales settle down to when it's no longer the latest and greatest.

Is this really AU stock? I wouldn't trust COTD as far as I could throw them.

    • +1

Unclear at this stage. My order has been 'on hold waiting extra verification' since yesterday, with an email blurb about how someone at COTD will verify this as an extra step.

Odd - given they've already taken the full funds from my PayPal.
