Every week someone posts a similar targeted deal and it never attracts this much hate. What gives this week? Give the guy a break

Valid point and not hate. I just think there have been too many personal one-use codes posted as superposed deals. But they are not deals

  • As usual nothing here.

    • I don't even bother looking anymore.

    WTF over modded much?
I don't mind having my vote revoked if thats the rules but killing the polite discussion?
Why are all the comments unpublished?

I agree, I don't think this is really right either, it just makes the whole post look bad as well to see all these unpublished comments as soon as you scroll down.

  • This is a targeted deal. To hide targeted deals in the future, click the hide link below the description and then check targeted deals. See this thread for more information.

In future please use the report button if you believe there is an issue with the deal (insufficient quantity etc.) rather than the negative vote button.

No we don't allow one time use codes as deals, this is not a one time use code but a post for certain users (targeted offer) receiving $10 vouchers on their eBay account. Feel free to continue the pros and cons of targeted offers in the forum and as always you are welcome to opt out if you prefer.

    • I think I will be doing that from here on. I've never been targeted.

    • I did use the report button for this, not the negative vote. Also, I don't really see this as a great deal because eBay is so overpriced anyway, $10 won't make that much of a difference.

Not against targeted deals even if they are a bit "check your emails-esque". Also I don't want to opt out of targeted offers in case one comes out that actually targets me that I don't know about. Surely there is a half way point and not just simply an all or none?

No one was rude to anyone else. It was perfectly civil.
I understand about the voting and revoking votes but if a civilised on-topic discussion, why was everything unpublished?

Remember guys… Just wait for Amazon and screw eBay

  • Thanks for the heads up, waiting for one of these…

I don't really agree with so many people over time stating "Ebay is overpriced".
Goodguys, HN, supermarkets, tradesmen etc are all overpriced in my view.
On ebay we can get phone cables, adapters… delivered 1/2 way across the world for less than a dollar. Not overpriced, and a huge selection of gear. Compared with other online outlets, Ebay is often the cheapest, and is very reliable nowadays. Aliexpress is sometimes cheaper, often it's 30% higher priced for a particular item.

Amazon really? Most goods seem much higher priced than Alibay.
So is it just typical whinging? Or have I missed something after 15 years of selectively shopping online.

  • Any recommendations for items cost $6-10? I'm looking for a power strip with USB, or a car holder.

    • let us know if you find one.

  • i dont get these - new Ebay account and everything …
