Can someone recommend a gaming laptop please? Weight doesn't matter. Budget is $1200.

    • +1

      Get a clevo

      • +1

Never heard of the brand. Any experience with them?

        • It's a custom built brand. Same as metabox or horize. They are built for gaming unlike the dell and lenovo variants that pop up on here. Mine is still going after a few years of heavy usage. Keyboard is average, but screen is extremely bright. Fan is loud. Try looking at metabox

        • @tomkun01: thanks. Will have a look

        • @dondoncha: maybe you can find a good deal tonight. Look for something like the one featured on this page with a 1050 http://www.metabox.com.au/Gaming-Laptops.asp

        • Metabox is an Australian company, that make 'bespoke' (to a degree) gaming laptops. As far as i can tell, they are rebranded "Clevo" laptops.

I am replying to to your post on one now, love the laptop. Mine was $1400 - IPS panel (1080p), 275GB Crucial SSD, 7200rpm 1TB, 1050ti, RGB (sort of) keyboard, i7 7700HQ, 16GB RAM

So, if its a rebranded Clevo, and they have Clevo's on here. I'd give it a thumbs up.

    • for gaming, not being concerned about weight is a good start, the challenge is what is your budget and what games you will be playing ?

      • The latest first person shooter with mid-high settings.

        • for $1200, Lenovo think pad E570 …. comes with a graphics chip, has 15.6" 1080p screen, SSD and takes an extra drive internally so you adda 1TB swindle drive for steam games.
Don't know of much else in that price point.

    • Splash a bit more and get something with at least a 1060.

    • dell inspiron 15 7000 maybe? i don't own one but the specs look ok it often pops up here for around what your budget is

  • +41

Price already jacked up. An example, seller: my-phonez
    Item: Apple iPhone 8 Gold 256GB http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/APPLE-IPHONE-8-256GB-GOLD-UNLOCKE…
    Apple store price: $1329
myphonez price: $1629. Minus 20% discount, down to $1303. More like just 2% discount.
That's an automatic neg from me :(

    • I'm after either a moto G5 plus or Moto Z play so will be interesting price wise as the G5 plus has had a lot of deals lately.

    • +3

Why are people down voting this? It's an appropriate use of negative vote: Cheaper price elsewhere.

      • +1

maybe they thought they were negging the deal not the comment.

      • +18

Seems like OB members only allow up voting these day. Down voting of a deal is not easily tolerable, you need to provide a detective's investigation, a coroner's report and a lawyer's statement to back up your down voting.

        • +12

The problem with down voting these ebay deals is that there are ALWAYS multiple bargains whenever they run.

Because the sales are so wide, and because some retailers jack prices, there will be a lot of examples of non-bargains. But that doesn't change the fact that good deals will be had.

I other words, I think it's entirely reasonable to disagree with a down vote for an ebay deal such as this. There's been enough of them by now to know what to expect and to realise that there will be some good prices, albeit not necessarily on the product(s) you are after.

Ps: I did not down vote your comment.

        • +3

It's not ok to vote no (to an eBay deal).

        • +5

@fruxo: You are correct in that sense. It seems both you and me have been members of OB for some time, so we know about these selected eBay sellers' price jacking scam, but there are many new members who don't realise this and they need to be well informed before they make the decision to purchase the items they want.

I believe members who have items they want to purchase and able to find genuine 20% discount from any of the sellers mentioned in this deal, yes they should upvote this deal. However the same applies to members who want to purchase something else but then find out there is actually hardly or no discount at all from the sellers here, they should be allowed to downvote this deal too.

      • +2

Agred. Helped with a plus. Wouldnt normally plus that comment but unfair negs

    • +1

Using that same logic you should neg the 18% off storewide deal. There are plenty of bargains to be had. Just because there are some instances of not being the best price, there are plenty of other instances of prices being under rrp and then getting 20% off on top of that.

    • Ausluck have had the same price since the iPhone was announced, so technically it hasnt been jacked up. ;)

      • +5

        Haha, you are right XD

        Ausluck's iPhone 8 Plus 256GB price = $1849 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/APPLE-IPHONE-8-PLUS-256GB-SPACE-G…
        Apple store price = $1479.

Ausluck's price is even more expensive than the upcoming iPhone X 256GB $1829.

        Disgusting.

        • After 20% Discount Ausluck's iPhone 8 Plus 256GB price $1479.20
Australian version iPhone 8 plus 256GB can't buy below $1479.00 with GST Tax Receipts & Next day delivery

        • +3

@ausluck: So your price after the supposedly 20% discount still cost 20 cents more than the official Apple store price, is that something to boast about? If you really want to prove to us about this so called genuine 20% discount, then sell the iPhone 8+ 256GB to us for $1183.20 then we'll talk business. Don't tell me you next day delivery cost $295.80.

    • +3

Absolutely agree here, this is well above RRP before discount, isn't this illegal?

(Btw. Neg vote from me too on seller my-phonez) for $300 or more on RRP prior to discount.

    • +2

      Thanks for providing the details.
Certainly is a neg and the seller should be banned from being featured as a seller for these 'bargains'

  • Why do you say it is worth holding off purchases until the 18% sale has finished? 20% beats 18%, and anyway the sellers in this sale may jack up prices if you wait.

    • +1

I just said that because a better deal will most likely pop up during the 18% off sale, but if you want to buy from one of these retailers then the POWER20 code will be worth it.

    • +6

There are other sellers that don't price jack so 18% off normal price beats 20% off inflated.

  • Which of these sellers sell AUS stock phone with AU 24 month warranty ??

  • Really interested in Dell SFF refurbished i7 16Gb Ram. Anyone have any suggestion? Thanks

    Price Jack at 9:59am.

    auscamsales

What a name for a shop.

    • They are: Selling Gopro Hero 5 at $999

      • oh wow you can get 2 for that price

  • +1

Disappointing when the price jacking occurs.
Currently hoping to find a IPS 1ms FreeSync Monitor for high resolution gaming at a good price. Might have to keep waiting lol

  • anyone of them sells oneplus 5 or mi a1?

  • So 5 percent off then

  • +7

These events are more of a deal for the sellers listed:

"Congratulations, you've been selected as an ebay store eligible for POWER20, please ensure you adjust pricing prior to 10am!"

  • Any of these stores sell Nintendo Switch games?

    • +4

      Yes, they do.

      Oh, you wanted a link?

      • Just wanted to know which ones if any. I started going through them one by one but…. well… you know!

        • No, we don’t. Tell us

        • Why are you going through them one by one, just use the search link in the description

        • +3

          @tidus4eva:

Because I'm an idiot and just realised that.

          Thanks!

    • Mighty Ape sells videogames.
Though depending on what you're after, it's probably better to use the 18% sitewide code tonight. Eg. "Mario + Rayman" for $69 (with free C&C) is one of the cheapest prices for it going around.

  • Any good Apple Airpods price?

    • Not with this deal, but with the other upcoming PARTY18 deal later today, Myers should lower the price down to $188 (assuming the stock will be available).
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/330859

      • Will keep a lookout tonight! Thanks edfoo!

  • Sorry, not entirely sure I'm doing this correctly. If I were to use the sale search function for apple airpods for example, it'll come up with one sale from my-phonez, but if I were to actually go to shopmonk's store, it'll show airpods for sale too. Am I missing something?

  • Moto E4 + SD card for $175 from eglobal reasonable for kids phone

  • LG washing machine @ betterhome - $488 delivered compare to $534 + delivery ($50-70) at everywhere else

  • After ipad pro 10 inch, any good deals?

  • Power jacking.

  • Any deal for IPhone 7 Plus 128GB ?

    • Use the 18% off sitewide deal tonight.

  • eGlobal has the Zhiyun Smooth Q gimbal for $119 (search for "Tech Smooth Q")

    • That deal was removed earlier due to limited stock.

  • Does anybody know if this code stacks with other codes? I.e. can I use POWER20 and PARTY18 (when it get's activated), to get a 38% discount? Probably not, right?…

  • Silly question. Does the link automatically apply the code? Looking at this and it's saying $465, is that with the 20% already taken off or…?

    • Nope, the coupon will apply an additional 20% off that price :)

      • Awesome! Thanks for the reply!

  • +5

I've been watching price jacking occurring in real time in my cart. A mouse and a mechanical keyboard have both gone up in price whilst I've been browsing them! One seller even added a $9.95 postage fee when it was listed as free postage 5 minutes ago. This price gouging turns me off all eBay sales.

  • Please anyone know a chromecast ultra from any of these stores?

    • Not in this sale, but you'll be able to get it for $77.20 from Officeworks eBay @ 6pm using "PARTY18"

      • That's great! Thanks heaps! :)

  • I searched 10.5 smart keyboard and two stores with price $279.99 and $269 came out, which the official apple store sells for $235

  • After a new Android phone for my sister, budget $250-350.
Can someone that knows Android models please recommend me the best phone for this money? Anything from these stores become great value with POWER20?

    • Dealon Aus stock for Moto G5 Plus? Or get the 32GB/3GB model grey import for a few cents more in this sale
      Good value either way

      • Or LG V20 with today 18% off

  • Ok I've tried everything possible on the vaya shop that is listed for a lg v20. My ebay acc email is the same as mynpaypal the name is the same my addresses match up I have tried on my phone app and pc and still my code doesn't work for me…. this has happened to me before with any coupon . Can someone help pleaseeee

  • Anyone know if this seller is Grey import or local seller?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-S8-Plus-64GB-Midni…

the ad says AU stock, with manufactures 24 month warranty
but down the bottom (actually the link is being modified)
it says stock is sourced from UK, HK, AU,

    sounds very importy

    • ask them. that way if they lie, you can get a refund.
I don't trust "AU stock" claims mean they're selling official Australia devices with manufacturer's Australian warranty, because it could just mean the product is in stock locally (i.e. it's a grey import, but it'll be sent from Oz)

But it says "SM-G955FZKAXSA", which is the Australian model (google it)

I bought phones off them years ago, they were good & were honest (one has an unlocked Vodafone (you can tell from the boot logo), which they mentioned before selling).

  • Was about to purchase GoPro from bigw but thy priced jacked from $530 to $560.

Any idea why I can't get goodguys with discount code as they have GoPro?

  • Does anyone know if you can search for an item within those stores offering the deal?
I am looking for a xiaomi Mi Band 2. Its hard work . ;(

    • Use the 'Search the sale' searchbox via the main deal link.

      • +1

        Thanks!! I never knew!

    • xiaomi Mi Band 2. Its hard work

      Better wait for Gearbest.

      • Indeed! Why would anyone pay 79$ for it! Even with 20% off that's far from reasonable.

  • Sorry for the undoubtedly stupid question, but is there a way to search for a particular item (Netgear D7000) from that list of 20% off sellers?

Edit: nevermind, found it, all the sale ones listed at $299 :-/

Ninja double edit: anyone know of any deals happening for this router? I've seen it on here for as low as $200

  • Bowers and Wilkins CM9 S2's ex Demo = $2899.20 delivered (RRP $4499)
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bowers-Wilkins-CM9-S2-Floorstandi…
    Tempting.

  • Any Crockpots/slow cooker on sale?

  • Quick futu and shopping express better pump the prices on the 1080ti's

    $1199 on their website
    http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/asus-rog-strix-gtx1080…

    $1299 on their ebay site
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Asus-nVidia-GeForce-GTX-1080-Ti-R…

    Same thing with futu online.
These companies should be fined heavily for this price setting b.s its illegal.

    Happens everytime.

This is not an ozbargain its an ozscam.

  • Shame no Officeworks. $169 minus 20 percent would be a steal for the UE BOOM 2.

  • Hey Guys,. I had my eye on a PC, costing $450. It had a 'Make an Offer" button on the listing. As soon as I made an offer of $425, the offer was declined. I revisited the listing a short time later and the offer price was $550. When I questioned the seller, he said that the price was not negotiable during the 20% off sale (the sale of this post). I knew nothing about the 20% at that point. I'm not happy, what do you guys think about that practice? If a bricks and mortar retailer did that, they would be in deep doo doo.

    • You already asked the same in another post. Seller doesnt have to accept the offer and private seller can put the price they want, dont buy it and move on.

      • Yeah I asked the question in the wrong post. Thanks for being observant though, have an awesome day :).

  • +1

New 20% selected code will start soon, camerastore just raised all prices
