Hahaha .. hamza where will you be playing at the next comedy festival?

Hmmm.. this vs grey import 4GB/32GB version for $1.80 cheaper…

    Tough decision.

    • Grey import 32GB/3GB for $20.40 cheaper, would this makes it easier?

      • Not really. I think the extra 1GB RAM is worth ~$20 lol

      • I think if I was buying a grey import one I'd buy it from qd in eBay. I would not trust DWI or shopmonk for later warranty issues. It's tough the extra ram and memory vs local warranty decision.

Has anyone found the Moto G5 plus from Officeworks eBay? I went to the store but could only find the G5 not the plus.

Sorry it was on the main link but the listing is gone now, it's sold out or listing removed. I'll edit the deal thanks.

Edit Original officeworks listing url. Sold out 1220pm.

    • Back in stock now (thanks to O O comment below)

  • Can anyone tell me if this phone is good for lizards?

  • Office works price matched good guys ebay store 264.86 :)

    • Grrr my local OW wouldn't even match their own ebay store.

    • Show me your ways Sensei. Isn't it their policy to not price match deals which require a discount code?

      • I rang to check stock, then mentioned it was on their eBay store, showed them a printout of my eBay cart with code applied against the good guys. I was only expecting to have it matched but was given the extra discount. I believe I got the last one in store as well.

        • Will try my fortune. Arigato.

I think buying this qd one would be the way to go from what I've heard about the other grey import retailers.

qd one is good I bought 2 samsung s8 they arrived within a week. no issues

Good price. I got one at the weekend for a little over $300 as I thought the code was ending and there wasn't a GG sale. HN also had it for $328 but limited stock and we all know how likely they are to price match.

It's a good phone for the money especially with the boost charging. Be aware that it's a nano sim rather than micro sim. Might want to sort that if you are buying as it took me another day to get a replacement sim.

    Officework re-stock G5 Plus again.

  • Snagged one for the missus. Anyone know if it's likely to be updated to Android 8.0?

  • Whats the camera on this like? Know a friend with the G4 Plus and they hate the camera!! So not sure if I would rush in to this deal.

    • It uses a different camera and I think they slightly improved it. They lowered the megapixels though, but it should be better in low light now.
It was not comparable to $1000 phones but the G4 plus had a decent camera for the price of the phone.

  • This deal seems cheaper.

The price works out to be $258.40 with the PHONE15 coupon for the 32 GB model. Curious to know why this one hasn't been posted.

It's the EU version, 3GB RAM instead of the 4GB RAM you get with the Asia/Pacific version.

It has, that's grey import stock. This deal is for Australian stock.

      The negative aspects are:
      1) It's overseas stock (Hong Kong in this case). So that means no price protection through credit card (all price protection I've seen with Australian credit cards requires purchasing from an Australian store), no extended warranty through credit card (again must be bought in Australia), no ACL (which means 2 years warranty on phones sold in retail in Australia, versus 1 year stated in that listing), and usually no help from the manufacturer if/when it goes wrong (manufacturers are legally obligated to assist with faults, or the retailer, your choice, for local stock - whereas for overseas stock they can and most do tell you to take a hike, or charge you full whack to assist), no physical store to return it to (as opposed to TGG and OW which have stores close to lots of people), and no GST (since this is less than $300 that's only useful if it's bought by a company for business purposes, although potentially consumers you could maybe buy other stuff to take it over $300 and get 1/11th back from TRS).
      2) You don't have to deal with DWI. I have never bought from them, but have seen negative comments about them in the past. If you want to buy from overseas, I'd suggest someone like QD_au who have a proven track record of honouring warranties.

Look, if nothing goes wrong, then the cheaper option is obviously better. I think for mobiles, for $20 extra, it's probably worth getting local stock. Just my $0.02!

  • Thanks OP, have been needing a new phone for my daughter since Sony wants $250 to replace the screen on her Xperia XA, which I got through Ozbargain for $229. Insane.
