Is this still working for anyone? I think my Netflix account was blacklisted years ago and I didn't get any value out of my last 12 month Getflix subscription, despite going through all the trouble of ip routing.

    • +4

Yup works for me but on desktop only and via their vpn.

      • In my condition work flawlessly. In my android phone and every devices. They have problem with hotstar to watch premier league but other than those I think its best for Netflix despite being so cheap.

        • Does hotstar work for other sports Like cricket? or does not work at all??

        • @letmesingh: hotstar does not work at all.

      • Thanks - this is useless then. I think you can get free Chrome extensions for this.

Did you follow there instructions for IP config?

    • What happens if ur Netflix gets black listed?

      • You flip Netflix off and move on to free options that are a million times better.

      • Mine never got blacklisted

    • Are you sure you were blacklisted? What actually happened?

    • +1

No issues here, using PS4, XB1, PC, iPads, iPhones and Apple TV.

The Netflix service did go down for a while but it’s been pretty flawless over the last 3mths or so and never had issues with Hulu or any of the other services.

      • +1

Did you have to do the static routing stuff they published in their support notes to get it working on Apple TV?

        • I did when the issue first came up but have since removed the static routes and it’s all working.

      • Via DNS or VPN?

I haven't tried either in so long.

        • Just using DNS.

        • @Jonesy7707: Just by setting PS4 DNS to one of the Getflix servers?? I haven't tried to get this going in awhile.

        • @nstyle:

I have the DNS servers set up in my router but I’d imagine it should work set up directly on the PS4.

        • @Jonesy7707: Yeah cool. I originally had it to work just for Netflix traffic on my router (so all my traffic didn't use them), but that was flaky at best. I'll give that a go. Cheers :)

    • Working fine here.

    • Why and how were you blacklisted.

    • Were you using Getflix or another smart DNS when Netflix blacklisted you? How do I know when my Netflix account is blacklisted?

      • I think he is telling porky pies.
He has answered other questions except the blacklist questions.
TBH I have never even heard of anyone getting "blacklisted"

Bought years ago. Never use it anymore. Netflix original content available to all now at the same time. Besides, the Cat and mouse game is too much hassle.

  • Have it but stopped using it months ago. Became a nightmare trying to get other regions to work after Netflix upped their game with blocking, before then it was brilliant though. Bought a VPN now so dont even bother streaming other regions just go back to ol tricks.

  • Isn't this a better deal? Lifetime subscription? https://stacksocial.com/sales/getflix-lifetime-subscription Any difference in term of service? Thanks

    • No difference coz its the same deal. I got it form stack social and it is working flawlessly.

      • Thanks, for your reply. So pay $35 USD and u got lifetime vpn service? Speed is ok? Daym, i just purchased 2 years PIA yesterday haha But may go for getflix if it s lifetime service

        • you can get 10% off when you signup for subscribing their newsletter.

    • Yes, I would say it is a better deal. I got it through here and it works exactly the same.

  • Netflix hasn't worked for ages and now it has occasional problems with Amazon Video.

    • Sounds like it could be your setup. Plenty of folks over on Whirlpool aren’t having issues in recent times and not sure on your Amazon problem, it streams flawlessly for me.

      • +2

No, it was them. They fixed Amazon after I told them about it. Netflix has been a dead loss for a year or two.

        • +1

We’ll agree to disagree then. Never had a single issue with Amazon and Netflix has worked without a hitch for about 3mths now.

        • +2

@Jonesy7707: How about we agree that we have a different experience? Even Getflix admit that they have given up on Netflix except for some browsers and maybe iOS devices. They lost a long running battle with Netflix as did most SmartDNS providers.

I know how to use these services and troubleshoot them. Just because you haven't had a problem with Amazon does that mean I didn't? When I contacted support about it they said they had an issue with it and fixed it (pretty quickly). That happened a few times a couple of days ago.

Biggest problem with Amazon is finding something worth watching on it. Most of it is like the back aisle at a video shop. Definitely won't be renewing when my sub runs out.

        • @wfdTamar:

Look above, Jonesey has it working on PS4 and XB1.
I just tested tonight, I have it working on Nvidia Shield TV

@snuke: Well good on you. It HAS NOT WORKED FOR ME AND LOADS OF OTHER PEOPLE FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. Ok, so you’re one of the lucky ones that has the particular device that happens to work for now.
So tell me, why have Getflix given up trying to keep it working for us? I’ll tell you, because they can’t.

        • Please…. Instead of saying it doesnt work for me, more details.

As above netflix amazon works fine for me. You might want to make sure you have anything setup correctly. Sure there was a time netflix didnt work, but has been fine for awhile now.

        • +1

@Damned: Do you seriously think I haven’t done that? I repeat, just because the service works for you does not mean it must work for everyone. I’ve been through months of troubleshooting with Getflix and other sources over the last 18 months or so. Getflix have different ‘zones’ for Netflix for different users. Some work some of the time, others don’t. Some devices work, others don’t (and I have tried multiple devices). Some people even think which ISP you use has some impact. If Getflix themselves admit its a dead loss surely that says it all?

        • @wfdTamar:

That's a lovely tone, thanks for your nice reply.
Like most, it frequently stopped working for me for Netflix. It was on and off, with more and more requirements to achieve it.
I stopped even trying, until I saw Jonsey’s reply above and it worked as it should.
If Getflix had completely given up as you say, then why is it now working for some of us, when it wasn’t before?

        • @snuke: The tone is because everyone presumes I don't know what I'm doing and just keeps on with the same thing - 'it works for me so it has to work for you, you're just an idiot that doesn't have your stuff set up right.' Just go check the whirlpool threads on it to see how many people it doesn't work for.

Hulu has never been a problem, Amazon only recently over a few days (and I thought - here we go they're doing a Netflix), but has been fine since then. Netflix yes was a nightmare for ages so I gave up and tried other services. Some worked for a while, or did but horrible quality, but usually got caught. I let my sub lapse a few months ago as I have Amazon and Hulu.

Getflix have given up trying to maintain Netflix for those it doesn't work for. They told me that - I'm not assuming it's the case. As I stated above it works for some cases (some devices etc), BUT NOT EVERYONE. GOT IT?

        • +1

          @wfdTamar:

As I stated above it works for some cases (some devices etc), BUT NOT EVERYONE

This is so true, I love how someone is downvoting everyone who is posting a negative experience. I haven't been able to get Netflix via Getflix working for over a year now — the only exception is via the browser, and that is often so slow that I get very low definition video only, it's a pixellated mess, so no thanks. It used to work for me via static routes (and I could use it perfectly on iPad, Apple TV etc), but that was before Netflix stepped up their blocking efforts.

If you do some basic research on the Web it's obvious that Getflix (as well as a lot of other smart DNS providers) is not working for Netflix for a lot of people now, and this has been the case for well over a year.

Having said that, there is a theory going around that some Netflix users are "whitelisted" by Netflix so they aren't geoblocked by them. Not sure how they choose who gets unblocked and who gets the big error message. If you're not being geoblocked by Netflix, you're lucky.

As wfdTamar says, Getflix themselves say it's a cat and mouse game with Netflix so people who are painting a rosy picture are misrepresenting the current state of geoblocking.

I don't have anything against Getflix — I blame Netflix for the geoblocking situation, not Getflix.

dont get getflix. theyre shite when they actually work and their customer servivce it bad.
go find a different vpn service elsewhere.

    • Hmm….much different to my experience with them. They were one of the only DNS services to keep at it when Netflix were shutting everything down and I’ve made requests for them to provide access to some services and they’ve always either replied or had the service available promptly.

Their customer service is top notch in my dealings with them.

      • +1

i suppose it comes down to who you get on the day.
i found them very unhelpful. then when they suggested using their vpn service, i tried it and was being blocked by netflix.

  • +2

The Netflix VPNs are iffy at best. they are constantly tracked down and blocked by Netflix so if you are purchasing solely for netflix then dont.

  • Does one subscription work in two seperate households? Eg. use at my parents’ place and use at home simultaneously? Couldn’t find this info.

    • +1

      No just the one household.

      • Thank you.

    • +1

      Yeah you can…
      it just gets really messy..
You have to re-register your IP at each place before starting anything.. The streaming services check your "location" only at the start, after that, they don't check.

To save $40 it's not really worth it.

      • Thanks, Scubacoles, that's what I was thinking. I can see if I get the iphone app, you can register a new location pretty quickly, but you're right that it's a hassle to use over two different locations. Thanks for the answer!
