  • Just received mine from last deal yesterday.

It was delivered from local 2143

Last time somebody mentioned this model comes with micro charge (which mean it can charge very low power devices because some powerbank couldn't detect this kind of device) but I couldn't see where the button is.

It was delivered from local 2143

It comes in bulk from China where they then on forward your parcel to you. 2143 is the depot.

Double click the power button. This enables low charge for things like Bluetooth earphones etc

      • Thanks

        • Actually just found that even the 10000mAh Power Bank 2 can do the same.

Double tab the power button to enable lower power charging.

    • And here I am still with my tail between my legs because I haven't received mine from the last bargain.

      • I haven't received mine too.

      • I haven't received mine from the last last bargain.

  • Im dumb and i think my next sentence will confirm this. I own a 'Macbook pro' the new one, I want a powerbank which will allow me to use the machine as well as charge. I have a el cheapo kmart one as of now and that cant seem to keep up. Any help?

    • +1

You need something that supports USB type C PD (Power Delivery)

    • Buy a USB to USB C cable. Belkin makes some very good ones. It will serve you well throughout the years. And this power bank can charge your Mac book. Barely tho while using it

    • I want a powerbank which will allow me to use the machine as well as charge

I wouldn't count on this being possible. It might work in certain very low power situations, but as soon as the power draw increases — which it will if you're actually using your laptop — it'll be a no-go.

I have a 2015 MacBook (Retina) 1.1GHz, which has very low power draw and even then my Xiaomi Power Bank 2 doesn't deliver enough juice to charge it most of the time. Charging was so unreliable that I gave up, it was completely pointless.

      • +2

You need the xiaomi zmi that can do usb pd. Its not cheap though. Deals come in just under $60 for the 20000Mah version

        • +1

Cheers, I'll keep an eye out for that model.

      • Cheers, This is what i wanted to know. My current one switches over to 'power adapter' instead of the battery then the computer will hardly work. Will have to look out for the one cwongtech suggested.

  • These things take most of the day to charge up from low

    • You need to use a quick charger.

    • +1

About 5-6 hours I believe, you can do it while you're asleep.

    • +1

Or another battery to charge this battery.

      • I bought two! One to charge my phone, and another to charge the charger again. Might get another for when the second one goes flat

        • Huh?

        • Why you need to use a power bank to charge a power bank instead of just use that fully charged power bank to charge your device?

        • @superforever: Pretty much what I said!

        • +3

          @John Kimble: Whoosh you two.

        • +1

          @John Kimble:

What will happen if we put a line of power bank in a chain …. :p

        • @superforever:
I'm thinking now I should get 10, chain them in a circle, then have a double adaptor on one connected to my phone.

      • +1

Get 2 batteries to charge each other and you will have an infinite flow of charge.

Someone told me before I purchased one of these about a month ago "Once you go Xiaomi you will never go back" , they were correct. Can't recommend these enough.

    • +9

I think that was me haha, glad you like it.

    • +11

      Yes Xiaomi isn't just a brand, it's a lifestyle.

    • +2

      I have Xiaomi everywhere XDD

      • me too

      • +3

I for one welcome our new Xiaomi overlords

    • +3

Definitely me who recommended it lol, glad my advice helped :)

  • The USB port on my 10k has started to be dodgy and not charge anything.
Perfect time to upgrade to a 20k.

  • can i bring this in my hand carry luggage boarding the plane?

    • +3

      Yes.

    • +1

yep - I normally put it in the tray out in the open, along with my mobile etc and only once has the person checked it. Once they saw it was 20k they put it back down again.

  • Done. Thanks.

  • Can i ask a random question guys.. other than the capacity difference, would you say these are better than the ultra thin 10,000 ones? I can't decide :(

    • +1

These have QC3.0, the 10k only has 2.0.

      • +2

Oh wow ok..that's awesome! I have the 10k and that charges super fast! I just ordered one! Thanks for the info!

Are these noticeably chunkier? Or still quite slick to carry around?

    • +1

The 10k version is thinner/lighter, but it's not half the size/weight and it's also more than half the price of the 20k. The 20k version can charge two things at once, and supports QC3 versus QC2. All in all if portability is premium, then go the 10k. If you want that extra power (eg for topping up a tablet or for long trips) then go 20k.

      • Awesome, thanks for your help!! I've got a 10k and very very happy with it. I've just bought this also for the odd trip or just in case (and because xiaomi products are addictive..)

        • +1

          I have 1 x 5000, 1 x old 10000 and 3 x 10000 new (1 gave away) and 1 x 20000.

Do I need that much of power? XD

        • +2

@superforever: Haha it's very easy to reach that amount. I find myself stopping at every ozbargain post starting with Xiaomi and giving in haha

        • @superforever: onto making your own power wall.

        • @superforever: You've been added to the Do Not Fly list

  • not working for me
edit: nvm was on wrong site!!

Can it be used to charge a Nintendo Switch ?

    • Yes, from what I have gathered though the Switch pulls 1.5A max over a USB-A cable, generally enough to power and very slowly charge it, but perhaps not enough if you're playing a demanding game with settings maxed and Wi-Fi on.

      • Wait.. they let you change your settings like a PC game?

        • Nah, just stuff like screen brightness and speakers.

    • There is an extensive post about USB charging of the Switch here: https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/5x948s/answ…

The long and the short of it is, if the charger is not a USB-C charger with USB-PD (power delivery), it will not be enough to charge while playing the Switch.

There are very few USB-PD compatible powerbanks that can output the 15 volts required to charge the Switch while in use. And this is not one of them, unfortunately. Maybe the next revision of Mi powerbank will have USB-PD support at 15 volts.

Edit: It seems the more expensive Xiaomi QB820 powerbank is one of the few that delivers 15 volts via USB-C.

  • Says code expired when I try to use it :(

    • +1

      • Thanks, will try again now.

        Edit: it worked! Thanks.

  • Thanks bought i will sell my sony 7500mah and kaiser baas 15,000mah on gumtree.

  • Thanks OP. Finally caved in and bought one.

  • Can anyone recommend a power bank to charge Macbook Pros (USB C)?
Ideally it would be great if it had normal USB ports as well

      Xiaomi ZMI

I contacted the gearbest rep a few days ago and hes hoping to get a good price on it in the coming days (45.99 USD).

  • Now I can run my playstation using this :D

  • W00t! Impulse bought one

  • Brilliant. Bought one. Thank you

  • +1

Great. Finally after missing out heaps of times…….Ive ordered one! Yay. Leaving work early has paid off. lol. Thanks OP.

  • Bought one last month but it's not charging 'fast', anything I'm doing wrong?

    • +2

Are you using a fast charger?

      • dumb question, so the fast charger is from the power to the power bank?

Not from the power bank to the phone?

  • Coupon not working now?

  • Code seems to have expired.

    • Yeah, use coupon code and go jumps up to $48.89 excluding shipping :(

  • I just forgot mine at the airport lounge… perfect timing for a replacement.

  • Now it's $36.35 flash sale price

    • +1

      its all over red rover

  • Does not everybody in ozbargain already have 2 of these?

    • I bought 2 a few months ago when they were cheaper than this ($20 USD) but they never arrived.

      • Hahaha, me too. Sounds like a money grab kind of bait and hopefully keep type situation hoping some people forget about it and don't make claim back or PayPal dispute. Mine was from TomTop and a 10000mAh PowerBank 2 from Sopping Square HK.

  • +1

    Damn. Keep missing these :'(

  • +1

    fml missed this again

  • When is the usb-c edition coming out?

    • Do you mean USB-C to USB-C? Can't this already charge stuff from USB to USB Type-C?

      • He means USB-PD. Xiaomi makes one but it's very expensive.

        • But it'll still charge stuff, just not as fast i.e. previous post about the Nintendo Switch

        • @YellowKnight: It can charge USB C devices fine.

But if it support USB PD, that won't work. High power draw devices require that fast charging if you want to be using it and gaining charge at the same time won't get enough juice without a C to C cable.

  • Missed the deal, bugger.

    Try this coupon guys:

    11nov061

  • Got my battery today.

Anyone translate the manual so I know what to do with it.

    • Same, and no need. All the specs and important info is on the Gearbest product page in English. Only thing to note is the double click of the button to enable low power discharge for watches/health band charging.

      • Single click for normal use like phone and double for low power devices.

  • Got mine yesterday :)
