I want to book but my mum says I can't use Malaysia Airlines.

Are you old enough to book by yourself?

You must be very brave to fly in that airline.

        • Why is that?

I am not sure if I am allowed to post a link here.
Just google "would you fly malaysia airlines" or check with Tripadvisor

You call it brave, I call it sensible.

But then again, I have actually flown with them several times, and don't need to base my prejudices on random websites.

        • @jackspratt:

Same here. Have flown them before and after the two incidents. Never had an issue and service is just as good if not better than our Qantas.

        • @emirates777: I'm with you guys - great airline. Unlucky past events

        • @seniordoc: Wait I found it, flying Malaysian Airlines causes cancer. But then everything does these days. 😜

  • Excellent airline and I will continue to use them. Recently used in August this year for KL to Phuket return at $130 with excellent flight times. They are very competitive within the S.E Asian sector especially on flights from KL and return. Alas their flight times into and out of Perth are in the wee hours of the morning. 3 years ago I had KUL-PER return for $340. Note this is emanating from KL. This fare is still available now +/- a few dollars. Full service, 30kg and no credit card fee. If you frequent Malaysia/S.E Asia all it takes is a budget airline out to commence Multiple KUL-PER-KUL. This is a reasonable fare emanating from Perth

Just be aware that they recently changed the aircraft type x PER to 737s…

    • Thanks for the heads up.

For me this is a deal killer, as the seat pitch/width on the A330 is 32/17.5 inches, and the 737 is B30/17 inches.

Malindo Air (generally) offers lower prices, 32 inch seat pitch, and basic meal service for the same route on their 737s.
