even better a new 7 - 11 opened near my house yeha, looks like i am working from home on 7th :)

The cups are 375ml. Which is approx 25% smaller than the smallest regular size cup.

      • still thats good, i saw some kids get a huge multicolour one when i picked up my free berri creations. they look great

  • +2

they have a particular cup for 7/11 day
it's quite small, possibly smaller than their actual small size

    • Bummer, thanks for the info

      • You could always go around several different stores.

And I reckon you'll probably passed out from the cold momentarily before you get the sugar high kicks in.

        • +1

There's almost a 7-eleven in every block in Sydney CBD. You could wonder around all day.

And I would head there earlier than later. Last year the machines were all overloaded by afternoon. Even stores with the 6 barrels had all 6 of the flavors out of order. With puddle of syrup below them and sticky floor around the store.
Interesting to see this year they made the promotion up to 2.11pm only, because you would probably be only able to get warm syrup from those machines after that time anyway.

  • Hmm…a bit tight on the times it is available. I guess if you finish it up at 2.11pm you avoid having 200 school kids pile in at 3.30pm. Still, there is a 7-11 near work so I will grab one at lunch time. Not a +ve due to being tight arses with school kids but not a -ve as I can still get one.

      7th November is a Sunday

      • You're right. My mistake. +ve from me now then.

  • Slurpee for breakfast, hahaha. See you there.

BTW, you guys realise 7th Nov is a Sunday? If you are thinking about a place near work, readjust your expectations. Of course if you are one of those people on a roster, that may not be an issue.

Damn. Sunday…Hmm…go to bed then wake up in the morning to get one, or get one first then go to bed?

    • +3

      Both!

  • "…..it was your twin sister who just had one" jaja

Just FYI to those who haven't done this before in past years.

    1)No, you can't take a giant cup.
The cups are 375ml and are smaller than the smallest regular slurpee cup.

2)Promotional Cups are whilst stocks last.

3)You can only get free slurpee if you can get your hands on a 375ml promo cup.
Most stores would have lots of it. However, in the city, cups tend to run out really early.

    4) You have to get the cups from the counter, DO NOT USE TO REGULAR CUP, or you will need to pay.

    5) You can get an UNLIMITED supply of slurpee, just bring your promo cup from store to store to refill. (I know that's not what 7-eleven says, but most stores allow you to fill up as long as you have a promo cup)

    6) For those in melb city, The $#^$#@ who owns the store on the corner swanston/lonsdale sts will paste a notice outside his store stating "we have run out of free cups". Easiest place to get free cups along swanston st : Any store between bourke and flinders st.

    Hope it helps.

The last time they had this the 7/11 down the street from my school ran out of cups andstarted using coffee cups instead.
The early ones got away without knowing that u had to use a promo cup and got free small ones, the guy behind the counter just let it slide.

    • From 7 Eleven website :

    It's only up to 2.11pm because it's 7 hours and 11 mins.

So going in at 7am in the morning = Win ???

      • +3

        No, just sleepy eyed. :)

Unless you were up all night and needed the sugar anyway. :)

        • Hmm… Sunday, i'll probably start work at 8:30 = Win ???

Unless they are all sold out by 8:30 :p

    • XD I thought it was because high school finished at 3pm - to avoid all the school kids from getting one.

      • But today is Sunday.

  • Methods exam or Free Slurpee? I think I'll forgo the free slurpees this year

    • +1

Too bad for you methods is not on a Sunday !! (You might want to find out the exact date and time for the exam)

  • glad I'm back in Vic this year. For the past 4 years I've been in the ACT which has no 7/11 stores!

    • That's un-Australian :p

      • +1

        7eleven is american

        • +5

Actually, 7-eleven WAS american. It's now Japanese, for quite a number of years actually.

        • +1

Ahh, that's interesting, I didn't know that and Wikipedia shows that you're right.

When I was in Japan, I used sebun erebun a lot to withdraw money from in-store ATMs. Unlike many Japanese bank ATMs, their ATMs accept foreign cards. Japanese bank ATMs may show the Mastercard or Visa logo but are limited to Japanese cards.

I dreamt about slurpees last night! althought the two 7-11's in my dream had broken machines =(

    • +4

So it was a dry dream then? :)

  • +5

I wonder if 7-Eleven Werribee's slurpee machine will be working. It's mysteriously broken down on 7th Nov for the past 2 yrs running.

  • Awesome thanks op!

  • Just went to a 7/11 they had only the free cups next to the machines..!! didn't even have to say happy 7-11 day lol.. went in got it walked out..

I'm just reading my cup atm and it says valid between 7am - 11pm on November 7! maybe they have old cups who knows.. just a heads up!

    Pear-lime flavour was nice though.

I wonder if in USA they have 7-11 day on 11th of July instead of 7th of November.

    • Yes, you are right.
7/11 Day is celebrated on July 11th.
And its free slurpee as well (24hrs).
