  • JB Hi-fi still have some in some stores as well. I picked up on for a friend today and they had a least another couple left on the shelf behind the counter (but in full view).

Maybe consoles on display are pre-order. How many on shelf?

      • They had three in total and took the one for me, from the same shelf, so I'm not sure they were pre-orders/reserved. Thinking back to the weekend, the pre-order ones I saw all had tax invoice/pre-order forms tucked into the lid of the box.

I was at Costco Docklands and they didn't have any this morning.

One at Melbourne Central had at least 30 piled up behind the counter with a big for sale sign on them.

Costco still has it for sale. If you got a mate who has membership, can pop by and get it. Plus it's cheapest around. (Excluding membership but use a mate ;)

    • Do you know how much they are selling it for? Thanks

      • +1

According to a dedicated post on here the other day, they're selling them for $113.99 (obviously Costco membership required too)

Still grateful i was a able to grab this, very limited and basically sold out immediately in the NT.

i think there's plenty of stock everywhere, looks like nintendo came through with their promise!

Please you don't have to post it up as a deal anymore unless the price is less than $100

    Thankyou :)

  • Got mine delivered on Monday night through JB, absolutely love it, takes me back….

Good to hear Nintendo (hopefully) aren't playing funny-buggers this time. Suck it, Broden!

Came here looking for the -This isn't OzRRP- comments

Unlike the NES mini, the Super NES mini is actually fun to play, and has 2 controllers.

  • Sweet! Ordered! Thanks OZB community.

  • This console is great, and as others said seems readily available, I don't even think the resellers are making much coin on this one compared to the mini NES (which aren't selling way overs anymore either).

Only gripe is that I wish you could go back to the main menu using the controller. Apparently you can with a Wii/wiiU gamepad, are these cheap?

    • I think the hack for the Mini SNES could be here very soon, it should add the ability to go back to the main menu with a button combo.

Check out the MiniSNESmods subreddit for more info

      • Im sure its out there as the internals on nes and snes mini are pretty much the same boards and chips :)

      • It's more glitchy than the nes as some of the roms had copy protection and some aren't playing as intended. A guy on the forum I visit has been tinkering to get a few games like chrono trigger and others working no problem but games like Terranigma won't work without patching. I am sure the finished hack will address all the issues though.

    • indeed that's the annoying part, always pressing reset! but damn i love the consol. can't wait for more games

All over 😭 only a dead link now

    • Eb games at townhall (If your in sydney) right below KGV received a stack of them today apparently the guy said all the stores should have them restock. give that a shot i just picked mine up on the way home

    • target @ bourke st, melbourne cbd has units . Purchased one at 8 tonight.

      • On the shelves or through layby?

        • +1

On the shelves in a cabinet in the entertainment section

  • damn keep missing these - simply dont have time

    • If you don’t have time to get one, then you certainly won’t have time to play one…

      • its more to the point i dont have two hours the moment these pop up but before and after I do

how ever this is also more on the impulse and homebrew - the default games dont interest me

  • What the advantage of this over Retropie? You can build one for much cheaper than this.

      1. Most casual gamers want an easy to use, plug and play official system that is covered by warranty.
      2. Nostalgia factor of a physical replica.
      3. High resale value after you get sick of it.
      4. Most casual gamers/ parents buying for their kids want to play games not spend time researching 3rd party devices that can do the same thing.

      Get it yet?

      • I play before retropi and this ones. the small s.nintendos one is less ping when pushing buttin. see maria jump more exactly when pressing the button compar to pi. RTOS ones is slower than this virtual console verion beter sounds to.
trlr: buy this ones better for you

      • High resale will only happen if they dont start selling them at dollar stores in the near future.

I set up an old atom n330 computer with Lakka http://www.lakka.tv pretty quickly, added some snes roms and $8 for SNES USB controllers from eBay and working great

        • When was the last time you seen a Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft console at a dollar store?
Never ceases to amaze me how many tech aficionados/ bargain hunters think the general public share the same thinking.

People pay for convenience, if you haven't figured that out by now then you never will.

        • @LaProblematique: The only tech that keeps value is original products like the original SNES systems in mint condition, Not really an investment
