Does this have a fingerprint scanner? How long is the battery life with mostly web browsing?

This seems an impartial review here of the e560, which i guess is quite similar.
      https://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/lenovo-thinkpad-e5…
Says up to about 8 hours battery life.
Review mid-2016, so keep in mind, how fast advancements in computing progress, even in 12 months (and therefore standards and expectations) .
      Copied from review
      ""
Pros / Comfy keyboard; Strong performance; Very good battery life; Clear audio
Cons / Not MIL-SPEC tested for durability; Dull display
Verdict / The Lenovo ThinkPad E560 has almost 8 hours of battery life and a comfortable keyboard, but it doesn't stand up to the durability standards of other business laptops.""

      • I concur, display not very bright compared to Macbook 12inch.

    • No finger print scanner but awesome laptop. Bought one before

Battery life would probably max out at 3-4hrs general use, 1 hour of flat out use, and maybe 4 hrs of video watching.

      • What are you basing these assumptions off?

  • Is there a way to add a HDD? Cheers.

    • yes has space inside for an extra sata drive.

    • +2

      waiting for e470 too

    • +2

      Me three. Pretty please? ;)

    • +3

Me want it too. E470 @$719.20. please bring the deal back

    • +2

      Likewise.

      • +2

        Also want the E470 @$719.20

    • +2

That would be nice, but probably wouldn't hold out too much hope, at least in the near future anyway, since that price was a result of the 20% off eBay code, so eBay would be contributing to a significant portion of the discount for that price. Not sure if Lenovo would be able to bring it to that low on their own, but around $775 is probably doable. If so, I would be one of the first to grab one!

I think any price below 800 is quite good

    • Me too :-)

  • GREAT post! This is what I've been waiting for =D
    Thanks TA!

  • Great work as always ta

  • Why do people want this over the 570p

    • +3

It's cheaper and some people could have a strict budget of $1000 and/or don't care about the better GPU/CPU. They might just be looking for a good 15" laptop under a grand that has good specs and a good keyboard with a numpad.

  • How much does this weigh?

    • +2

It's literally in the description - don't even need to click the link to find out.

      "Weight 2.3kg"

      • +3

        Sorry fair enough

    • from 2.4Kg, mine feels heavier (with 256GB SSD, no extra HDD), feels like cheap plastic cover.
      definitely not a portable laptop.

  • Do these ever come without a dedicated GPU?
Want to buy one but I can't fool myself to spend money on the GPU when I don't game at all.

    • Edit: misread your comment. You may want to look at the lower end models for one without a dedicated GPU. But it doesn't really matter as the laptop will default to the integrated graphics for everything but gaming and won't impact battery performance. You could also go for a light 14" laptop like the T series.

      • I don't know why anyone would avoid a dedicated video card if the price is right. I don't play games either. But if you upgrade later, resell, and people see two secondhand laptops for sale on ebay, the one stating it has a dedicated card would draw more interest.

  • Waiting for the XPS 13 for $719.20

    • dream on :D

  • Is this Lenovo's equivalent to Inspiron 3000?

What's their RMA like? Is it near as good as Dell's? Dell service is excellent.
