    Not a bargain.
It's not hard to find HDMI cables selling for $3 shipped on eBay.

By the way, can't stop laughing by reading the "features" of so-called 1.4, especially the "4096x2160" resolution… My HDMI cable supports 40 trillion x 20 trillion, anyone wants it for AUD2.0 ?

    LOL

    • -1

What's your point? It DOES support that resolution. Also post a link to where you could find 1.4 HDMI cables for $3 shipped please? Otherwise your neg is not valid.

      • -5

There's HDMI 1.4 specification released within the last 6 months. However there's nothing called HDMI cable 1.4 in this universe.

Cable — in common term is referred as a bunch of copper wires which carry analogue signal (e.g. VGA) or digital signal (HDMI in this case). Quality of the copper is the only factor which contribute to the "compatibility" of any kind of HDMI cables.

$199 vs $1 HDMI cables debate have been argued a million times on the web already.

        • Where's the $3 HDMI cables you are talking about?

    • I believe the v1.4 cables also support 1080p 3D whereas 1.3 only supports 3D in 1080i.
Also if you actually check eBay, you'll find that the cheapest price for a 1.4 is $4.95 delivered.
(But don't forget that other deal which is going on where you can get 1.8m 1.4 for $4.85)

      • -3

        Thanks.

Ok, let me put it this way: (1) Last week I did order a HDMI cable for $3 shipped from HK, looks pretty much the same to this one as shown. Not going to advertise on the seller's behalf though. (2) This ad spent the whole page copying content from HDMI.org but to the bottom line it's still the same 19pins M-to-M.

Still can't be convinced how this physical copper medium be more superior than any copper mediums which provides the same 19pins M-to-M pinout.

Believe it or not, by the time hdmi.org releases 1.5, the next day all eBay sellers rename their products to be 1.5 compatible…

        • This is OzBargain not HkBargain !
You can't compare oz prices with HK. Besides, you have to wait 3 weeks to receive it.

        • +1

I meant I ordered from eBay which the cable is shipped from HK. Took 1 week to arrive.

Ask this seller where his product is shipped from.

        • Where are these v1.4 $3 HDMI cables? The deal is for v1.4 cables…the differences between 1.3 and 1.4 is not the point.

      • 1.3 cables can support full 1080p 3D as well as audio return channel(ARC).

the only feature of a HDMI 1.4 device that a 1.3 cable can not handle is Ethernet over HDMI, but I have yet to hear of any devices with this feature.

    • not a valid vote - Ebay

      • ok for the vote to be removed.

however it was apple-to-apple comparison. Both are ebay stores, buy it now price, shipped from overseas, postage inclusive

        • ? i don't understand.

        • you removed my neg vote. I don't understand your "don't understand"

          • I mentioned that I bought a HDMI cable for $3 shipped from eBay shop A
          • I commented this deal "not a bargain"
          • You made a comment saying "not a valid vote - Ebay"

Thanks for reminding us that we can't find any cheaper 1.4 HDMI cables from eBay, that's why i agreed that my neg vote should be removed.

However i was trying to raise a point, that 1.4 is just a hype. Any cable will do the same job. I'm just trying to remind ppl to pay more attention on what they are buying (same 19pins HDMI M-to-M, same form-factor)

        • +1

I think your vote was removed because you didn't post a link to the v1.4 HDMI cables for $3 shipped.

        • thanks stix. As soon as he shows a buy it now 3m 1.4v cable for $3 i'll be happy to reinstate vote

        • There's no 1.4 selling $3. There're plenty of other goodwill ebay stores which honestly telling their buyers that 1.4=1.3=1.0 = same copper wire.

          Here's a shorter cable, $2.31: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Premium-1-3-Gold-HDMI-Cable-PS3-Sony-…

It's a cheap alternative which enables buyer to do whatever their HDMI device can do. I know this is not labelled 1.4. Anyone can point out the physical differences between a cable labelled as 1.3 and one labelled 1.4, both carry 19pins ? Try not to copy and paste from hdmi.org, the spec is only for HDMI 1.4 devices.

Anyone has plugged a 1.3 cable into a 4096x2160 tv and can confirm us that it does not support such resolution?

Best for those who already own a HDMI device and its original cable, then order a new 1.4 from this OP. Compare the physical difference and let us know.

Those who believe a 1.4 cable can lighten your day, and 2M long is enough, here's one $4.95 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2m-HDMI-Cable-1-4v-Full-HD-1080p-Supp…

Davo: Thanks, don't worry about reinstating the neg vote. No other selling 3M v.1.4 cable cheaper than $7.95. Just me personally not believing this cable worths the extra $ compare to an identical product that carries a different "version number".

"In HDMI versions 1.3a and before, the HDMI cable and its standard 19-pin "type A" connector had one spare conductor reserved for future use, on pin 14. The cable configuration consisted of four shielded twisted pairs (each accounting for 12 pins) and seven other, unpaired conductors. 1.4 introduces a slightly revised cable architecture: instead of four shielded twisted pairs, there will be five, and the unpaired conductors will be reduced to four. The existing DDC/CEC ground connection, pin 17, will now also function as the shield connection to this pair, and the "hot plug detect" on pin 19 will be twinned up with the "reserved" conductor on pin 14 (now known as the "Utility" pin). This new shielded twisted pair will carry Ethernet and Audio Return functions."

I see what you mean now hsct. I guess a 1.3 cable would suffice for 1.4 functions but in a 1.4 cable (high speed ethernet) the new twisted pair is shielded preventing any interference.

For this deal though, a 1.8m v1.4 cable can be had for $4.85 delivered which is still cheaper than what you posted.

  • Great deal I can hook my PC up to my 40" TV and play HD audio.

Also the new 1.4 cables act as ethernet as well so I less cable to bother with.

    • +1

Ha ha, your last comment is a classic. So you've got a dirt cheap cable that can support ethernet over HDMI. All you need to do now is replace your PC and TV for models that support it.

      • $43 for a 5450 GPU will allow me to bitstream HD audio via the HDMI.

My Samsung LA40C650 TV can play files including HD mkvs straight from USB, I assume from the PC direct as well.

        • +1

current devices do not support the ethernet over HDMI feature, if you wanted to watch MKV's etc via HDMI your PC would have to decode the file to a format the TV can support over HDMI, many video cards have settings for HDTV's.
Or you could connect your PC via ethernet to the TV if it supports those formats via the DLNA sharing feature, I'm not familiar with that TV so don't know what it can or can not do.

  • Hi I ask for the invoice to be revise via the message before u confirm the payment, is that the correct way?

    • Yes, that's right.

I can see you ordered 12pcs cables
& you paid for 6 via PayPal eCheque

What would you like to do with your order?
      :)

      • Thats not right because I only order 6 in total and I put it through via paypal so can u pls check it again thanks

  • Price is alright given a decent HDMI cable. However cheaper deal can be found from those HDMI cables not specifying version number.

I'm sure any HDMI cables you can find on the market, support all current HDMI devices. Moreover HDMI version 1.4 is the specification for the device, not the cable. i.e. there's no such thing as USB 1.1/2.0 cables.

  • So do I order 5 to get the 6th free or do I order 6 and you adjust price ?

  • Hi how come paypal will take the full amount out of my account which include the delivery as well? i thought the delivery was free…

  • Any Ozbargainer care to comment on the quality of these cables? i.e. from the previous specials?

  • Hi, I just ordered 6 cables and can you send me the adjusted invoice (for 5 cables)?

  • Hello,
could you confirm my order as well, I order 5 cables so that means I'm entitled for the 6th cable free ?

    cheers

Ignore my message, just got a revised receipt from seller, very speedy response :)

  • Hello there. I just bought 5 1.8 m hdmi leads and I'm confused how I go about claiming the free postage. Can you please help.

    • Hello.

You need to request an invoice from us

      Cheers

      • I did sent an email few days back, havent got any reply back and havent received any money either.

    • apparently I contact the seller directly myself and a lady told me postage is not free. They charge me the full amount and im requesting for a refund now. Furthermore, the lady told me that someone had email me about this issue but I haven't receive anything yet.

  • I ordered six 3m cables and they sent me six 3m and one 1.8m (free), but their post says "BUY 5 Cables & GET 1 for FREE".

    • -1

      Hi friend

The Free Cable is always a 1.8M
We post 1.8M FOR EVERY FREE CABLE ORDER

We did not state anywhere that you will get "3M Cables for free"
      That offer is for order. some customer ordered 1x 10m, 2x 3m, 2x 5m… & receive 1 FREE 1.8M!

IF you are the guy that NEG-ed, please revise!

      • +1

Hi friend, Where do you state in the post that the free cable would be 1.8m?
and what do you mean by "BUY 5 Cables & GET 1 for FREE"?

      • +3

I recon this is misleading, deceptive, and possibly fraudulent.

In common sense, for example if a store advertises "Buy 1 get 1 free", everyone perceives he/she gets an identical product for free, practically it'd be 50% off.

"did not state" is not a defence. Obviously you did not state the free item is pair of socks as gift, doesn't mean you're legitimate to send the pair of socks as the "free item".

        Think about your business reputation.

  • +2

Can anyone please NEG this deal?

"BUY 5 Cables & GET 1 for FREE" — The free cable is not 3M

The seller assumed that he "did not state" the freeie is 3M, he could send anything as freebies

    Not honest.

    • Hehe, newbie :)
