Really handy units, only thing is needs to be close to a window. Also, can be quite heavy, so if you have a two story house should be careful.

Don't waste your time/money. Got the 16,000 unit, it takes about 5-10 minutes to start cooling. You can't use this thing @ night as it's super noisy (fan/motor).

Norwegia sounds like a good brand. The Norwegians are renowned experts in airconditioning, the place being so hot.

A compressor with 1 horsepower capacity is able to remove approximately 9000 Btu/hr of heat.
Better wait next Wednesday when aldi have theirs on sale, can always return if you don't like the noise. All portable made by unknown brand for a reason so don't be disappointed.

I have no idea about this brand, I'm assuming it's just a cheap white label, but $300 was what I paid a few years ago for a cheap white label 10,000 BTU unit from ebay.
