Not worth it with Android 4.4 and 512MB of RAM. Several alternatives available for around $35 with latest Android and 1GB of RAM

Any pointers to the $35 phones?

        ZTE Zip $29 even in 2016 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/284817
Quad Core,1GB RAM,Android 5.1. This was available on many weekly Colesworth catalogues this year. Haven't looked for it recently.

Also this one is great with IPS display but for $39 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/279889

That's an expired bargain from last year.

@redcreek200: I just used the search function, couldn't bother reading catalogue deals of last few weeks. I bought both of the phones myself just looking at weekly catalogues so definitely it has been available frequently.

    • As long as the headphone port is not too noisy, it would make an OK network audio player/upnp renderer for an old stereo etc.

    Does it have B28?

Reviews are mixed, although it is possible to unlock and may have $20 Google Play credit so for $5 might be free.

      yes, it's a 3G phone with band 28.

      • No sense of humour?

  • I recently bought one and it came with a $10 sim, YMMV

and an average USB charger and cable.

Still don't think they are worth it. The $10 doesn't have the value that the new ones have will the extra data for seven days.

Telstra should have made these end of line more than one year ago, possibly two.

Having said that Vodafone were/are dumping some 3G USB modems. Again should have gone from the market more than one year ago.

Does this have a notification led?

Every phone listing on ozbargain I look for this post by watchnerd and here it is. I didn't leave disappointed.

  • I found one of these in verge waste, it's slow and laggy as, and the battery life is poor, but it's still can be useful. I use for Aldi sim.
Recommend an above comment, get a better phone.
Oddly, sound seems not bad, twice the volume of my samsung, and listenable thru speaker.

  • I bought one of these for $11, for my Pip Boy a couple of years ago. Worked pretty well for that, but overheated if it was charging and running the app at the same time.
It's now a night-light music player for my daughter. As said above, the sound is decent, but the performance is terrible.

  • what size is the sim in these? I need a larger size sim card on telstra. My horse needs to call me when she is having her foal. Paddock reception is poor so only telstra plans, and the horse phone uses a full size sim card.

Or am I better trying to find a large sim only plan? Only need it for a month, she is 11 months gone already.

    Seriously.
