Been awhile for a Nokia 5 sale.

Nokia 5:

Processor: Snapdragon 430
RAM: 2GB
Internal Storage: 16GB
Screen: 5.2" 1280 x 720
Battery: 3000 mAh
Port: Micro USB
Sim: Dual Sim Stand-By (4G-3G)
Fingerprint sensor
NFC

Nokia 3:ebay.com.au

Processor: MT6737
RAM: 2GB
Internal Storage: 16GB
Screen: 5" 1280 x 720
Battery: 2630 mAh
Port: Micro USB
Sim: Dual Sim Stand-By (4G-2G)
NFC

Cute little phone if you are nostalgic/want fast updates. Stock Android 7.1.2 with updates. Android Oreo is promised for Nokia 3, 5, 6. My dad's Nokia 6 is on the September 2017 patch already.

Apparently you get good battery life (84h on GSMArena test) on the Nokia 5.

Dual SIM 4G/3G on Nokia 5

Can add the Nokia 5 (TA-1053 dual sim variant) to the list. Put my Boost SIM in slot 1 and Amaysim SIM in slot 2 and I'm getting 4G on Boost and 3G on Amaysim simultaneously.

  • NFC?

      Yep on both.

  • Nokia is making a real come back, cheap pricing and pure android, band 28, etc but the HD instead of FHD screen is a bit of a let down.

When they only put a snapdragon 430 and 2gb of ram in the phone, a HD screen is a blessing.

    • Yeah it needed to be faster. I got this phone and yeah it needs a better processor, I found it too slow (not pathetic slow, but more wanting slow).

    • Yup Nokia 5 would have been great with a 625..

  • I got the 5 for $203 with the code YIPPEE for spends over $200. It's a targeted but check your emails if your interested in the 5. Don't forget the cash back sites.

HMD recently, released the Nokia 7 in China. It's an upper mid-range device, with a strong focus in the camera.

I'm hoping it'll come to Australia. I'm rather very interested in purchasing one, since it'll be my first Android Nokia phone.

  • Processor is a bit slower than expected.

    • How slow is it?

      • Are you still happy with your Nokia 5's performance. I'm a bit tempted still at $223 on ebay with the 20% off.

        • I have a Nexus 5 tho xD.

I'm waiting for a Nokia deal to get 100+ upvotes so then I'll feel ok buying it.

        • @StrayfireX:

Thanks for reply. Had a Nexus 4 and only stopped using it for lack of 4G, the N5 is still a good phone specially on Vodafone 4G as has B5 ( lacking B28 ).

          @ozhunter68:

Honestly I'd either wait for a sale from qd_au or next year's Nokia 5.

Next year's is supposed to have a Snapdragon 450 (faster & longer battery life).

I can't see any Nokia 5s for $223 in the current 20% off sale except from buymobile which are a dodgy mob (sending used phones as new etc).

Nokia 5 is $264 from allphones (AU Stock& Warranty) tho:

I'd pay a little more for allphones or from qd_au (grey import). Both are good sellers.
