Wait for the catch website to go down at 8.01 tonight then.

    • +14

      Not even… 8:00:03 :)

      • 8:00:01 :)

        • +2

It will go down before it even starts!

        • +1

          @tukanglistrik:

This actually happens. You can feel the server’s strain as you try to log in and browse (or start refreshing).

  • Is this genuine or like one of the many counterfeits on eBay?

Pretty sure these guys have done counterfeit Apple accessories before. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

    • I day they could be…the Pandora store has confirmed the Pandora they sell is not legit either.
How do they get away with selling counterfeit?!

    • +1

It's probably that cheap just to get loads of people to visit. This is more of a competition than a bargain.

  • +17

    Australia's Population = 24,698,800
    Available units = 50
    Yeah, can't see any problems

    • +9

All 24,698,800 should be online at 8pm AEST too!

      • +16

My 10month old is ready to spam for me with her tablet

        • Shes mad at you because she wants an iPad Pro like cool kids at playgroup

        • +2

I'd say my 20 month old will do the same, but knowing her she's just gonna hit the home button and quit all the stuff anyways.

      • -1

So you assume 24,698,800 (may be more now in this minute) all interest in it?

May be half of them already using emulator to play those games.

        • +1

          yes i am

      • +4

…make that 24, you forgot to factor in the NBN

      • 7pm AEST, actually. :)

    • Plus depends on how much bandwidth/server capacity they have also haha!

    • +3

I will bribe all 24,698,800 people $1 to not buy it so I can buy one. Hehehe…. wait a minute…

  • +2

Thank you for posting it mate, however remembering the disaster from last time, there is probably 5 units, gone withing the fraction of a second. So lucky draw, basically.

  • This is going to become ww3 for a game console xD

  • This will end well

  • lol 50 units…. that'll be gone in less than 30 seconds. X)

    • +1

      More like 0.3 seconds.
      Game of tiny chance

    • +8

They don't have 50 units to sell at $49.

This is not a legit deal, just another click baiting/phishing exercise.

      • -1

Do you have any proof or have they done that before?

        • +1

          Why the down votes?

          Seems like a reasonable question..

  • That will be gone in less than 2 secs.

  • yaay another #catchfail

  • +5

I wouldn't bother. For the first Nintendo mini they claimed to have them at full price. For me, they didn't even show up on the website before they were "sold out". Just a fishing scheme to get more subscriptions.

  • +12

I tried and failed to score a free pizza from Domino's giveaway, and there were 5000 pizzas and the start time wasn't advertised.
Hence I'm not even going to bother with this competition

    • +2

It's annoying marketing to get more subscribers. I loathe this stuff.

    • Great analogy. If I could give you two upvotes…I would!

    • Those 5000 pizzas were gone in about 5 minutes. So 300sec*(1/100) = 3 seconds?

    • +4

I have got 2 free pizza vouchers from the last microsoft deal, happy to pm you one code if you want ;)

      • +1

Kudos for being thoughtful. Don't see enough of it these days.

        • +1

          I’m just …on a diet, that’s all! LOL

        • @cheepo you've got a PM too ;)

        • @GregFiona:

I'm also genuinely trying to watch what I eat at the moment (had a quinoa and rice salad for lunch) but i will gladly use it on a cheat day.

Thank you and that certainly wasn't the motive behind my previous comment. :)

    • @WaywardOne you've got a PM ;)

  • -3

Can buy this ones and sell for more money!

  • -3

You can find it here so don’t worry,

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/263281631424

    • That’s a service for those who have one……

    • Postage kill it.

    • +2

      Isn't that illegal?

      • Yep, and against eBay's terms & conditions lol I'm sure a lot of people do this themselves, but actually doing this as an advertised service and making money off it is a big no-no and asking for trouble.

        • 100% feedback👍

        • I reported the seller yesterday as a copyright breach. The ad still seems to be up.

  • is that daylight savings time or QLD?

    • +3

      Hehe… qld..hehehe…

  • hmmmm $50 is still a lot of money for Mario kart. The only game I remember from that time. And even then I need to have someone to play with.

    • +3

With the 60 you save on retail, I'm sure you could hire someone to come around and play for a bit,try 1800 Rentamate, I use them all the time.

      • It's actually a real thing. believe it or not :p

        • Jesus Christ!

My TAFE goes on break in like a month, nothing until February. I should get myself on this thing.

          What Dylan likes:
Going to see the new Star Wars with random people on the internet who wanna pay for his ticket.
Going to the shops with his pimpdaddy friends from online who buy him vidjya games.
          Long walks on the beach.

        • @TheDukeOfNukem:
Lol we used to joke about it too but yep, it's real

        • @TheDukeOfNukem: here, this is all you need for those 4 months off.
          https://hyperkin.com/Retron5/

        • @Karlos101: But, but I have no carts, for I was only born 20 something years ago.

And the Pi, I mean, they're cool, but tbh my Xperia Play is still the best way to play PS1 or earlier for me. Sorry, PSP.

      • Genuine question but what are you renting friends for? I need to meet new people!

  • Time to crash catch’s website?

  • +3

    Nope, not taking the bait.

  • +11

Don't bother trying guys, I've already bought them all. You can find them on Ebay tomorrow. Regards, Broden.

  • +1

I think we all know how this will go.. website will go down yet amazingly all units will be sold by the time it comes back up.

  • plenty of counterfeit models going around wouldn't be surprised with them

  • It makes me laugh when people were getting pissed off that these were out of stock.

This has never been a strategic product for Nintendo. Its a basically a marketing campaign in a box

  • +12

Sorry, I don't think deals of this nature are fair. These basically come down to luck or scripts.

  • I'm upvoting, but I know I won't get one.

  • +13

Piss off fail of the day. This amount of stock and bait tactic to drive traffic to a website that will crash should not be considered a bargain

  • -8

People were buying it for $119 lol.

  • Website will crash like usual and only the people who setup automatic buying programs up will get one.

  • -5

This is not fair. People will be on at 8, then buy like 3 of then and sell them to make more profit. Some of us actually want a console, not for some people to be selfish.

  • +2

Vince McMahons Theme song goes well with this deal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Uc3V8NxKWw

  • +7

Catch of the Day… you're the "catch".

No thanks for another click bait.

Sign up if you wish to give up your credit card and personal details.

If CoTD is a legit business, then they would be selling it at RRP or close to RRP.
It goes without saying, "if it's too good to be true, it probably is".

Like many have said, CoTD is known for false advertising and click baiting.

  • +5

Bs of the day.. From past experience.. This is bullshit.

  • Humm… 1/493,976 chance to get a $49 Snes Mini that I already have? Should I go for this while I have a Science Assessment to do that's due tommorow? TOTALLY!

  • +1

Damnit 8pm is my daily porn watching schedule. and 9pm i got cam appointment with oksana from Ukraine.

    • +3

Are you Jay from the Inbetweeners?

  • +6

    Son, this is bait.jpg

  • Last sale I bothered with was in 2013 on their birthday and scored a $149 iPad mini.

    Not bad in my books.

Just the typical sale where they have limited stock and everyone is hammering the website.

$50 for this is a bargain btw.

  • +1

If you're going to try manually, you have no hope. people will use scripts to automate the checkout in less than a second…

    • Any examples? I wouldn't mind trying my luck in future sales :)

  • +1

Staff probably bought them all already.

  • +8

    error

    {"success":true,"cross_sell_html":"","product_id":"439665","product_price":"49.00","quantity":1}

    • +5

      {"error":"Whoops, something has gone wrong here. This product is not around any more"}

Infact it has gone right - COTD managed to trick everyone with this scam!

    • +1

      Same, aleast we tried mate

  • +6

    purchsae limit reached at 8:00:25

    • +3

lmao why did i even bother

  • +1

    gone

  • +2

    All gone..
Or they might not have any at all.

  • +1

"Sold out" in about 30 sec!
I added it to cart but it wouldn't let me pay

  • +3

I'm impressed I was able to add to cart at least! Was snappy! I did it for a laugh. Would have been surprised if I got one. Kind of glad I missed it. Heh.

    • +5

      Stage 1: Denial

  • +1

    Yep, gone in seconds.

    Not a deal

  • +1

    Soul doubt.

  • +1

sold out in 60 seconds lol

    • +1

    • Reminds of the movie Gone in 60 seconds lol!

  • +3

  • +6

  • Got one yes yes yes
