    you mean foreplay phase?

      Yes,you are right.

      • any special position
uurr i mean, any special deal for this phase??

Xiaomi MiJIA IR Light US$5.99 pls. Match the previous OzB best

  • +46

I received an Xiaomi Mi Drone on a previous deal.

I'm negging this because GearBest won't solve my problem and the only way anything EVER gets sorted in this world is by posting publicly.

The charger was faulty (doesn't work), and the battery is faulty also as it won't charge with a friends charger.
Also, the Gimbal is faulty (the camera) It's not detected by the Drone.

Rep won't repsond to my messages on Ozbargain and i want to get it resolved.

The ticketing system on their website is trash too.

Out of all the 3 issues i listed, support wanted a photo of the charger to prove it's not working ??? like how can a photo even show if
    it's faulty or not.

And they've offered me $30 refund for the charger, ONLY if i close my PayPal dispute because they never respoinded to me.

But at the end of the day, i've got to now purchase a 3rd party charger ($50 Minimum) and a new battery ($100 minimum)

God knows what i'll do about the Camera being faulty too.

GearBest is horrible to deal with, first time buying from them and it'll be the last.

    Rep, if you respond
    Ticket: WT17102802451
    Order Number: W1710142207232113

I just want a replacement charger and battery sent out.

I don't want to pay $60 AUD to send it back .

Is there a single Chinese seller that isn't a scumbag?

      • +3

'kun oath - there are very many from my experience of buying from eBay sellers in China.

      • +1

To be fair, Banggood have resent me Blitzwolf products about 4 separate occasions for Quality issues.

Haven't had experience with more expensive stuff but have always been happy with their CS.

    • +11

Was literally just about to purchase the Mi Drone from this deal and I decided against it after reading your comment. I'd rather not take the risk should the same thing happen to me. Hopefully they sort it out man. Keep us updated!

      • +3

Honestly, It's a great drone for the 10 minutes i got to use it as the battery was half charged once received..

Since then… it's been sitting in the corner of my room for the last week and a half doing nothing >:( - Just bought another Charger and Battery from a few different eBay sellers, just because waiting for GearBest is a joke.

        • +8

I've read countless good reviews on the drone in the past couple days and was dead set on purchasing it off this deal before i read your comment. Do not close the PayPal dispute. I've had an eBay seller try to convince me that they're unable to process a refund/replacement with an open dispute and asked me to close it. A quick call to PayPal and I was told that no such thing exists and a dispute should never be marked as resolved or closed unless it has actually been resolved.

        • -7

Probably a silly question but did you attempt to charge it before or only after your 10 min flight time? Using it without first fully charging it can kill the battery.

        • +3

          @Baron-K: no it will not

    • +6

In a paypal dispute with them at the moment for a Xiaomi DOA product. Absolute nightmare trying to deal with them.

      • Wouldn't happen to be xiaomi amazfit watch? Mine arrived defective, still waiting on refund even after sending back at my own expense….. almost 2 months this has been going on now, all to save a few bucks…… I'll be buying local from now on, I don't care if it costs me more.

        • LOL I get sent a defective item and somehow I deserve to be down-voted?

        • @randolpg: I upvoted you to balance out the other twats

if you paid via paypal and activated free returns, paypal will cover upto $45 of return postage

      4:09PM - Sydney Time.

Received a PM from Gearbest saying that they will liase with the support rep "Hella" at 2PM Beijing time as that is when she starts.
to "confirm the issue with her and clear the things up"

    • sorry to hear about the issue's mate they cost a decent amount of money thats for sure… i only buy from these guys (and i mean all of these cheap ass chinese outlets) with a view that if it dies i'll be throwing it out… so i have a very hard limit of amount im willing to spend (which is very low ..lol) .. i really hope they fix your issue for you :)

      • +5

Yeah i understand it happens - but they should handle it better in my opinion.
I never purchase anything expensive from China, first thing and of course there's a problem, only purchased from GB due to them being ~$200 cheaper than aliexpress.

    • +1

Rep please help fellow Ozbargainer Get the issue resolved ASAP

    • +1

Thanks for sharing. Was going to buy the pi, but I will pass now.

    • Sympathize with your situation. To be fair, not many countries provide the level of consumer protection that Australia offers. While Gearbest is selling to Australian consumers, it is still an overseas based company. They do provide additional insurance protection if you so choose to take it up which some other sellers don't. Personally for me, if what I order gets delivered and it matches the advertised description and is in one piece I am happy to part with my monies. If you have higher level of expectations then buy locally.

      • Insurance will not help if they send a faulty product.

You are taking a big gamble buying anything of value from Gearbest.

        • If it is a faulty product it is not really the fault of the seller who is just a middle man but the manufacturer. It doesnt make long term business sense to knowingly ship faulty products. If it is broken or not in one piece when delivered the insurance should cover it. The Xiaomi products from GB I feel are very competitively priced and even if you ordered directly from the Mi Store in China you may not get it cheaper delivered even though you do get the Mi Store manufacturer's warranty (but that still requires you to pay return shipping costs). Like I say if you want peace of mind just order locally.

    • +3

Obviously they have seen this comment but aren’t replying to it…

    • +2

Update on this, Paypal granted me a full refund.

  • Thanks. Got another Raspberry Pi 3. Surely I need one more for another project

    • id rather wait for the english one.

      • Does it actually make a difference? Legitimate question.

        • Wouldn't think so. My only thought is perhaps 'Chinese' versions are manufactured 'off the books', with no royalties/licensing getting paid.

        • here is what i found on the differences, as to if it matters or not i haven't had experience with china model… mine are from UK.

          http://pcbprototype.site/raspberry-pi-differences-between-ma…

if Kapone is correct regarding the royalties thing i wouldn't touch the chinese model as they are fantastic products and im happy to support the manufacturer.

        • better components and QC.

  • What about the coin mining machine. How much import tax, do we need to pay? Is it really working?

  • How does the MiJIA IR attach to a wall? Are they movable?

    • -2

They don't. You need to use some blutak.

      • Thanks that makes sense, was trying to work it out but couldn't find anything.

      • +2

Please don't spread misinformation when you don't know the answer.

        • -1

          I would still recommend blutak.

    • +3

Please ignore the misinformation from lostn.
On the back there is adhesive behind a plastic strip you can remove.
The adhesive is nice and strong, there's no chance of it dropping off the wall, but due to how secure it is it may strip paint when you try to remove it.

I haven't tried moving mine since it'll make the adhesive weaker and possibly strip paint.

They can be twisted off the back while on the wall to easily replace the batteries.

I'd recommend this one instead. This one can be hung on a clothes rack, it connects to the base with magnets rather than clipping, and can be charged via USB.

Both are just about as bright as each other, and turn on when the light level drops below the same amount. It also has adhesive on the back, in the middle circle.

      Source: own both.

      • I made the mistake of fitting it before testing if it was in the right spot. Had to remove it to reposition slightly and it ripped off the paint plus lifted the plaster. Damn strong tape!!!!!!

        • I thought it might do something like that.

At least it's secure, so dropping isn't an issue, and they can be easily removed to charge or replace the batteries without removing the base.

      • That's exactly what I'm looking, huge thanks :)

        Hey rep,

Would like to take advantage of the sales, but my last 4 purchases just got marked refunded without proper explanation to my opened tickets.

Kinda frustrating to keep trying to make purchases from GB, and have them turned down via unexplained refunds? can you help me get some sense from GearBest?

These are the orders that have been refunded.
        W1710301700557308

        WP1710290446257161
        WP1710271009576813

This purchase succeeded fine, and was paid and shipped using exactly the same payment and postage details as the above refunded ones.
        W1710260639323511

These are my opened tickets with the senseless responses from GB
        WT17103004156
        WT17103004141

Would appreciate anything you can do for me so I can get buying again in time for tomorrow ;)

        Cheers,
        John

        • +1

Hi John, sorry for this inconvenience,I am waiting for my colleague reply about this.

        • @gearbest:

Great, appreciate you looking into it for me, I checked with my bank today, and they didn't decline any of the 4 transactions, quite the opposite they confirmed they approved all the payments and made special point to mention that to did not send any message to greatbest, as all the support tickets said took place.

I look forward to hearing from you and a resolution to this, as it seems like gearbest is just refunding all my purchases made on the discounted items I purchased, because they don't want fulfill my legitimate orders.

The fact that gearbest keeps suggesting I use western union instead of pay pal or my credit card which have worked fine in recent past, smells funny.

          Regards,
          John

        • @gearbest:

Hi, I understand you suggested in pm, this issue has been fixed on my account but gearbest support don't seem to be in agreement and are still just parroting the same canned response, pushing for western union to be used :/

"Thank you for your quick reply.

          Sorry for this situation.
We suggest that you can use western union or wired transfer if you still want the items.

          Thank you for your cooperation."

Could you please touch base with them and find out exactly what was wrong with my account and provide some details on exactly what has been "fixed"?

          Kind regards,
          John

        • @johneliot1978:

the support team told me fixed yesterday,I need confirmed with related department first then reply you.

        • @gearbest:
I have had the same problem with ordering the Xiaomi / ZMI 10 / QB820 power bank. Keep on getting refunded and told to use Western Union or direct deposit.

Here is the last order number: WW1710310026371468
          And ticket number: E17110101686

          Can this be fixed please?

          Cheers,
          Kieran

        • @kjtyers:

          Hi Kieran,

As confirmed, the system automatically detects unauthorized orders, in order to protect the interests of customers, we automatically refund the money. you are now allowed to place orders, but you also need to find paypal to authority your orders in case it will be considered as unauthorized orders again.

          Thanks,

          Sunny

        • @gearbest:
          Hi Sunny,

What do I need to do to get the order through now? The code has expired and I'm not sure what you mean about paypal authority.

          Cheers,
          Kieran

        • @kjtyers:

First, you will need to check your PayPal account and do some confirmation to make PayPal believe this is your account, then you can use your PayPal account continue shopping.

        • @gearbest:
          Hi,
My paypal account is fine, I have made purchases with other companies with paypal since this happened. I just need to know how I can order the ZMI power bank at the price it was advertised as prior to being forcibly refunded.
          Cheers,
          Kieran

          Cheers,
          Kieran

        • @gearbest:
OMG, your support staff keep parroting the whole direct transfer / Western Union thing!

What is the point of offering Paypal as a payment option if you are just going to refuse it!

Seriously, doesn't Gearbest care if they lose Australian and other 'Western' sales because of this ridiculousness?

          Kieran

Would love to see more of those Yeelight RGB light bulbs in sale

  • Anyone know much about the Xiaomi Notebook Air 13.3 ??

    • It's sick. Very happy with the purchase.

      • Hey tomkun, I'm experiencing issues with my display.

Do you get flickering on yours?
Very noticeable on the ctrl+alt+delete menu.

Can you check who manufacturers your screen? I used HWinfo to find mine is a BOE manufactured screen.

        • I have no flickering on mine, it's produced by Sharp.
However I have got one spot of backlight bleeding through and on the odd occasion the display turns off for a second (I think that's a graphics driver issue though)

        • @FMMarty:
          Thanks for your response!

It truly is a luck of the draw then..you get either a Samsung, Sharp or BOE display. I've read another post with the same issue as me on a BOE display.

Consider yourself lucky to have gotten Sharp!

        • I don't get it but I mostly use an external monitor. I have one dead pixel. Only issue with mine is it often fails to reboot after sleep. Resolved by holding the power button. Nvidia drivers suck too, but I'm used to that

        • I got a sharp screen that has defect with the screen(cloudy screen, small noticeable lines etc). Seems Xiaomi QC is so great with checking screens.

      • Where did you buy it from?

        • Xiaomi store

        • @tomkun01:
          I see.
I guess they don't ship them here.

        • @SickDmith: Nah. They're not interested in dealing with consumers so much. The stores have always been packed when I've been.

    • Excellent, I couldn't be happier with it. Only issue I had was needing to install the WiFi drivers after a fresh Windows install. For some reason (and maybe just the old Windows 10 iso I used) the WiFi didn't work with default window drivers. No lan port means you'll need to download the intel PRO/WiFi drivers from another device.

Oh, and no lable on the top can be a little confusing when trying to find which way is the front…

      • Oh no Lan port is almost a deal breaker hmmmm

          Really? On a laptop?

        • @CYMA: first laptop I've ever had with a lan port

    • Great, except screen suffers from very noticeable flickering.

My screen is made by BOE, not sure about other commenters as apparently it's luck of the draw with these things.

Need Yeelight, Aqara Sensor, Xiaomi Smart plug (zigbee) PLEASE :) :) :)

  • Listed as "Hover Camera Passport Foldable RC Pocket Drone - BLACK" but no camera at all.

Even when you click on the product page, there's no mention of camera at all so I'm not sure how the "Camera" got included in the description in this deal

    • The correct link for the hover but the actual price is much more.
