Are these cloud based, and you need internet for the alarm to work, and if a burglar cuts your phone line if on ADSL, the alarm doesn't work ?

    • I'd imagine that the "cloud" would also notify you if the system has gone off line.. Would get fairly annoying if you have the NBN.

The alarm can still work.. Only, you wont receive notifications related to the break-in

      • Alarm is within house and wouldnt matter if he cuts down power as well.
I would think if it can activate an external siren using their smart plug adaptor, that setup would be nice. But power is needed though.

        • There are a couple of ways to deal with that: a UPS; an old mobile phone hooked up to a charger that lets you know if the power is out; both.

It really depends on the risk you're trying to deal with. In my case, the switchboard is inside, and if someone really wants to cut the power line outside the house then I figure my alarm will be the least of their problems.
Someone could cut the phone line, but in the grand scale of risk I just don't think it is all that likely. Likewise, I don't expect most burglars to be using zigbee/wifi jammers.

  • Thanks. Ordered one

  • Hi Rep

Would you know how long this would take to process and ship. Hoping to get it before Christmas. I ordered on 11/11 and used the Shipping method Australia Direct Line.

    • Should definitely ship this week. There may be a delay due to the large volume of orders during 11.11. With AU Express it'll definitely arrive long before Christmas :)

      • Thanks Rep
