I haven't had a chance to try this screwdriver set, but for anyone looking for one I'd highly recommend to choose one that has two things: magnetic tips and a comfortable free spinning handle. Can recommend this set that does it for me: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/22-in-1iphone-tools-precisio… Shop around for prices - the link with that price was just the first one to come up in search.

I got that Nanch set. Note that there are 2 versions with different materials - the one you linked is "S2 alloy steel, HRC 60" which is the same material as the WIHA set, and the other at a lesser price is "CR-V, HRC 50-54".

Also note that because they are S2 alloy, the bits are not magnetic. See comments of mine and another owner of the Wiha set here >>> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/330435?page=1#comment-5136…

So in short, none of them has magnetic tips?

        • The bits are not magnetic on my Nanch set. I don't have the WIHA set so I can't give you a definitive answer, but if you go to the comments I linked above another member confirmed the bits on the WIHA are also not magnetic. It's not a bad thing though if that bothers you.

@sky blu: I have to add, the bits are not magnetic, but can be magnetized. i.e. if you run them a few times over a strong magnet, it can hold on to screws. It doesn't become strongly magnetized though.

        • @eug: Yes, I am aware of that. We meet again lol.

@sky blu: Why hello again! I didn't mention the bits being magnetizable before so thought I should mention it. :)

      • I own the Nanch set as well, and yeah, the bits are not magnetic, but the handle is (I believe it's written somewhere in the product description about why). It's not strong enough to hold large screws but can hold most of the ones you would unscrew with this screwdriver from laptops and other electronics. Can send a pic if you want proof :)

  • Is it worth going with a kit with a larger selection of bits? (eg 64 bit iFixit kit)

    • thats a sweet looking kit! esp liking that flexi extension.

Can I ask what's so special about these screwdriver sets? Isn't it quite expensive?

Anyone having any luck getting the $24.68 price?

Thanks Pharming, dammm this bargain didn't even make it to the deals page that was a a very short code period.

  • Hi guys, can I ask what the appeal of this set is? The handle looks really uncomfortable. Or is it only really designed for small electronics jobs etc?

    • because its Xiaomi branded? No idea

Ive this kit and it works a treat.

The quality of the bits, and the overall fit and finish as well. The bits are by WIHA who are a famous German tool company known for making quality tools. They're made of S2 tool steel which is harder than the cheap soft bits you get with cheap screwdriver kits. Cheap soft bits wear out quickly and will make it a lot easier to strip screw heads, which is especially bad with the tiny screws these are designed for.

Not everyone would appreciate the difference though, just like how some people are totally satisfied with Ozito drills or Craftright tools. If you're only screwing 3 things a year, or just need to tighten your spectacles now and then, there's probably no big reason to get this.

      • Thanks!!

    • Looks uncomfortable ridiculously but comfortable to use. I repair phones all day used this fro a couple days while i was working on the roads fixing about 15 iPhones a day at a company. its main use is jewellery, watches and small electronics upto about computers.

  • Back in stock, 12c cheaper.

  • This site has became Gearbest dumping ground. Their support is terribly frustrating. I was promised a refund within 24hr. That was 8 days ago and still waiting.
