Price drop on these two Android Wear smartwatches, historical low? Silver/Stainless Steel models. Were $479 at the start of the year, it pays to wait.

  • Looks nice. Thanks OP

If anybody’s used these watches, could you tell us how these are different to Motorola watches

thinking of getting one of these

if only it doesnt has flat tire….

    • Same as the Moto 360.

  • battery life ?

    • This wearable has an estimated 24-hour battery life.*

*Battery life varies based on usage.

      Battery Type: 360mAh

The watch does look nice….but it's not fun charging daily…if it can even last a full day.

        • +2

Unfortunately most smart watch requires daily charge.

        • @RichardL:

I'm currently considering the Xiaomi Amazafit - excellent build and nice looking (imo), easy to change strap, 5-7 days battery and only cost ~$110.

        • @mg_k:

          Another xaiomi amazfit here also.

          Came from a pebble.

          Used an Asus Zenwatch.

And the new Garmin Vivofit 2 will be the next purchase.

All the above get a full 5 day work week between charges.

Anything less than a work week is pitiful.

@mg_k: The problem with the Xiaomi Amazfit is that it uses it's own OS, which mean lack of support/update. It also requires it own standalone app. Also the battery on the Xiaomi Amazfit is only 280mAh as opposed to this one which is 360mAh (I'm assuming the Xiaomi Watch drain battery slower as it uses it's own OS therefore lasts longer).

Personally I would purchase an Android Wear 2.0 Watch as it works well in the Android Ecosystem, and has access to third party app through the Play Store.

        • Charge while showering. Easy

          @RichardL:

Actually, it uses Android (not wear) 5.0.

And it integrates as well, if not better than other android/wear watches ive tried (such as clearing notifications if i read them on the watch).

Its far from its own OS, just its own shell/launcher.

You can even sideload playstore apps directly!

        • @MasterScythe: Wow didn't know that, might have to look into the Xiaomi Amazfit.

        • @MasterScythe: there is another xiaomi smart watch more expensive than amazfit with round face and colour i think. cant remember the name… PACE?

        • @RichardL:
bought Amazfit from gearbest, received 2 days ago.
sometimes "tap to wake" takes few seconds to wake it up. But you can press the button, it works.
GPS works fine, heart bit rate kinda higher then expect? not yet try to download music or any app .
Battery life seems to be ok, still 58% after 2 days.
It got everything I preferred so got no complain since it only cost me 107 dollars with shipping fee. it's even cheaper than the retail price in China.

        • @mg_k:

Any idea what's the difference with the international version?

battery life not as good as apple watch.
i have the marshall and its best with android mobile, not iPhone. heaps of functions not available on iOS.

      • That would make sense, since the Fossil Q Marshal is running the Android Wear 2.0 os.

Sadly, no NFC = no Android Pay from the watch.
    Life is hard.

    • Unfortunately the option for NFC Smartwatch are limited in Australia. Off the top of my head, the only watch with NFC are:

      • Apple Watch (Uses Apple Pay)
      • Samsung Gear S2/S3 (Uses Samsung Pay)
      • Huawei Watch 2 (Uses Android Pay)
      • Yeah. The Huawei Watch 2 looks nice, but it is just too expensive for my tastes.
It's a pity Sony chose not to update their Smartwatch 3 - it had NFC and GPS built in, transflective display; overall pretty nice.

        • +1

Agreed, but the Huawei Watch 2 does have 4G, so that's a plus.

      • And a lot of the new garmin range also!

        • Except Garmin Pay is so far only supported by Comm Bank in Australia and given the small user base I'm not sure whether too many other banks will jump on board.

      • The Fitbit Ionic has Fitbit Pay.
