Stahp with these cheapies. I've had 7 arrive this week already!

  • How long does the battery last?

    • +2

      ~1.5-2hrs

      • Also AFAIK you can't charge & use at the same time.

        • +2

You can. I use it the same way.

        • Definitely can use and charge simultaneously.

    • Yeh battery is the biggest drawback of this. I guess some people have it charging at the sametime as they are using it.

Unless your vigilante on turning it off it stays on for 5-10mins after losing a connection. Also it seems to have a great Bluetooth range so if you park out the front of your house, even in the shed and you forget to turn it off it will stay connected and be dead the next time you go to use it.

  • Thanks Hamza!

  • +1

i just received this from GB but doesnt appear to work :(

    • Have you charged it? I bought one a while ago, and although I haven't used it yet, I realized it has to be charged for it to work (it has a hard-to-understand user "manual", not sure if you read that). I will probably never use it, thanks to OzB. Lol

      • same here. i did charge it. didnt think about it after but remembered after seeing this post. will try again. cheers

  • Great price, rosegal took a tiny bit longer than GB to deliver but they're fine in my books.

  • +22

Thanks, bought 2 - don't even know what it does and don't care either.

    • +4

you are our role model mate (slow clap)

    • +5

If you have a wobbly table with two uneven legs you can put these under it to stabilize it.

Or you would use it to connect your phone to a non Bluetooth amp of car stereo to listen to music, podcasts and the like.

Even not knowing the use you still have my utmost admiration.

      Keep Ozbargaining and stay true!

      • +1

Does it have band 28? 😜

  • Great thanks Hamza! Was after one of these for my Logitech Z-623's

  • Got it to work with a sony mini hifi that doesn't have bluetooth and it works easily. But, if I try to keep the bluetooth unit plugged in via the usb charging cable it switches off. So no idea how long it will last via battery.

  • Had one of these from the last sale and I'm pleasantly surprised. I have it plugged into my Yamaha 5.1 surround stereo. I can now connect to it with my phone and okay my tunes wirelessly. Range isn't amazing but I've been very impressed for the price.

  • +8

I picked up one of these via the previous GearBest deal. I can't recommend it, even at $1.15. Cheap build, as you'd expect given the price. The kicker is the poor signal range and susceptibility to interference; sub-2hr battery life; and terrible audio quality (pops/clicks/drops).

    • Thanks, suspected as much i'll skip.

    • +1

This is my experience as well.

    • Cheers, you saved me $1.15

    • +5

My experience is the opposite, I expected junk, but mine works great, very little noise, just a slight hiss which you can't hear when music is on.
The range is good, around 10+m and only stutters when objects are in the way (particularly people).
The sound quality is very good, and works perfectly with my iphone 6s+

      • +1

We must be the lucky ones. I dont even get a hiss, Ive got atleast 2 hours out of it (long enough for the bus trip to my mates, hour+ each way) and I love the fact that connector comes out of the device and you can plug earphones straight into it (thats how I use it). Since people mentioned it I just tried using it while charging and it worked fine, both the charge light and connected light where both on. I love mine.

EDIT: Should have finished my order before this, coupon just ran out…hehehe, idiot.

  • Mine went through at 80c $1.08AUD. Used 28 degrees too. Cheers

    • Probably automatically used 4 points = us8c. Did that on my order - paid us80c with 28degrees .

  • No need it, ordered anyway, thanks.

  • +3

Got one from the last deal yesterday. Pretty unbearable hiss coming through the speakers. Straight to the bin.

  • Got one from Gearbest.
Plug into the car’s auxiliary jack in the centre console & streams music via Bluetooth from phone, through car’s speakers.
Very happy with it, works reliably.

  • Be careful: I ordered one and the 3.5mm jack snapped off into the input plug of my car auxillary port. :( A pain to get out.

    • +2

      Can’t help read that without saying ‘snapped’ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

      • A real pain to get out.

  • So, this is used for receiving a bluetooth signal? Can it be used the other way, plugging the 3.5mm into a speaker output and bluetoothing to a bluetooth speaker. (eg, plugging into a computer audio output?

    • no

    • I am also interested if anyone can recommend a bluetooth transmitter so that I can receive the sound from my TV headphone/earphone jack with my bluetooth headphone.

      • +1

        https://www.jaycar.com.au/bluetooth-audio-dongle-with-transm…

Bluetooth transmitter/receiver from Jaycar, haven’t used though so no knowledge of how good it is.

      • +2

I have used this & this and am now using this because you can hook up two sets of headphones to the one transmitter. All worked great, did notice some minor latency on some occasions when watching TV but it isn't that bad.

Edit: Got mine from AliExpress as it was cheaper, so check prices.

  • Got one, Such a pity that you can't use it while charging.

    • Mine works fine whilst charging…

    • We've discussed that & I've tested - works while charging. Just turn it on again.

  • For the price it is alright but it us unusable because you can't charge and use it at the same time!
And 1.5 hours battery just adds to the frustration…

  • I paid too fast…. did not use my 28 degrees…i need to turn in my ozbargain badge…

  • Not much point if you can't simply have the power connected and using it at the same time with such a small battery.

    • I can on mine. I'm not sure it is charging very well,if at all, when it is in use, but I have had no problems using it with the usb connected.

      • Oh really? Sweet.

      • Just checked mine from Gearbest deal - no audio output when charging.

        • How is it possible that some work differently to others?
Is it the power output? I have mine plugged into the USB input of the stereo it plays through.
I will try mine on a few different chargers when I get the chance.

        • +2

          @choofa:
When charging, red light is lit. Then no longer able to pair while charging.

HOWEVER, holding down the button WHILE charging, the blue Bluetooth led flashes…

Seems it is purely the different use you put it to - so THANKS!

Some Bluetooth speakers in the past could not play while charging - annoying. Lucky that's not the case here.

        • +1

@Infidel: The red light is on when charging, then turning it on by pushing the button I also get a blue flashing light and I hear the asian robot woman telling me "power on" and "bluetooth connected" or whatever she says.

        • +2

@Infidel: oh yeah, you have to turn it on ;) LOL

        • +1

          @choofa:
          Yes - PLAYS WHILE CHARGING!
Others including myself simply tried charging while already playing, which turns it off. Just needed to turn it back on!

But charger I used introduced a lot of static into audio - so choose a well filtered charger.

Wouldn't have found that without your comments. Thanks!

        • Mine doesn't work either when I plug it in!
I turn it on (hold onto button for 5+ secs) then get the connection, plug it in to charge (red light turns on)
THen I hold onto button for 5 secs again, and all it does is flash red for 1 sec, but no connection…

        • @ivanson86:
May be different version (different supplier?). A common problem when trying to resolve issues. If we are using similar looking but different versions, no wonder there are varying reports about this & sound quality.

Mine was from 24/9 us$0.99 GB deal received recently. Since it is effectively same business, expect mine will be same version as one in this deal. It has 2 red & 1 blue LEDs. Sound quality is good. Listening to it now while on charge🔋

When on charge, red charging LED remains on until charged. (Static through speaker until turned on!)

Press 5 seconds - 1 beep through speaker if connects to Bluetooth (no voice in my version) & blue LED below red charging LED flashes about ever 2 seconds. Then plays music through speaker.

If no Bluetooth connection available (eg from phone), red & blue LEDs below red charging LED alternate flashing. 3 beeps when connects to Bluetooth.

Maybe time for a cheap upgrade if not working.

        • @Infidel:

Thanks for your reply, it probably is a slightly different version.. but for $1 ish i am not too fussed. but from what you described mine acts exactly as you described however, unable to connect with a power source.

  • Paypal converts to $1.20. So settled for $1.16AUD using site conversion.

  • I'm interested in getting one, but don't want to setup another account on yet again another website. If someone in the Macquarie Park (Sydney) area is buying one and can buy a spare one, and can do a fellow ozbargainer a favour, I'd be happy to pay $1.20 and pick up around Macquarie Centre. PM to setup a time that suits you. Thanks

    • Getting this?

"Error, this promotion code has frequency of use restrictions."

      • Same here…

  • does this make a wired bose q25 wireless?

  • These are super handy but I don't think I need anymore

  • lots of mixed reviews here. I'm in the market for one of these; if i'm willing to pay a bit more for a quality one, do any of you have any recommendations?

    it's for my car.

  • Bought this & 39c 3.5mm Female to 2-RCA Male Audio Cable for input to amp.

  • Mine went through paypal for AUD 0.96…. I am happy but just wondering how come…?

    • If you've ordered from site before, it applies 3 points earned. Shows during payment. Changed me au96c.

  • Tempting, I wonder if anyone knows how much if any lag these receivers have for when you want to game or watch video with the audio coming through them where you'd want audio in sync with images so voices match lips for example.

    • +1

There will be lag. I've got this device & haven't even bothered trying for that use. Tried with more expensive units & gave up. Can't expect much for $1.

OK for listening to music, but with video it will be out of sync. Online discussions about the issue with Bluetooth receivers - slow DA conversion.

      • Fair enough it's really cheap. Precisely what I wanted to know. I have a transmitter with acceptable lag that I can use for watching TV listening wirelessly with bluetooth headphones (to avoid disturbing others) and was curious about using this to bluetooth enable other older sound systems/speakers/headphones and such, thanks.
