These phones look really nice but hate margins around the display.

    • +1

But all borderless screen are likely 18:9 which is really cheating.

Mine Max2 runs great since Feb. Can't complain more when you can get a SD820 at this price.

  • Only 1 colour?

  • Haven't these been a lot cheaper recently?

    • +2

i believe its a different model, but again 32GB just not big enough for a phone without sdcard slot.

    • AFAIK, not the 'Le Max'

  • That's cheap! If I didn't already have 3 phones I would buy this phone. It's a great phone. I should have kept it instead I sold it and bought a Le Pro 3 Elite.

    • can i ask you why you sold the le max 2 and bought the le pro 3 elite?
Im torn between the two atm. whats the cheapest I can get the le pro 3? what is the battery life (sot) for both?

      • I got the pink one and didn't want to keep it since the grey one was in stock at the same price. However I ended up getting the Le Pro 3 instead because it was a new model with larger battery capacity. Id say the SOT would be between 5-6 hours depends on usage and battery drain on idle is about 4% over night. That's unplugged between between 8pm-7am. The best thing about the Le Pro 3 is the fast charging QC3.0. From 10%- 100% battery can be charged in 1.5 hour. I think Le Max 2 the same but it didn't come with a fast wall charger so I not sure but it's definitely faster than average.

This offers is the cheapest I've ever seen on ozbargain for a Le Max2. The cheapest Le Pro 3 Elite is about $169 on here. Just message Light in the box rep. I am sure he can get you one at a good price. Le Max 2 and Le Pro 3 are bpth officially supported by Lineage OS.

        • which is better do you think? the le pro 3 has better battery but has a lower resolution screen. Can you tell me what the battery on the Le Pro 3 is like?

        • @Feeblely:
Le Pro 3 has better built with all metal body where as Le Max 2 has plastic on top and bottom. Battery on Le Pro 3 is a bit better. Both phones looks and feels premium. Here are some photos of my Le Pro 3

        • @HandsomeMonkey:

whats the sot like? say will it last for 7 hours of pokemon go non-stop?

        • @Feeblely:

Probably not. I don't know I don't play Pokemon Go.

  • OK complete novice re a smartphone but I am using a 2G dumb phone so I must upgrade in the next few months, no hurry though IMHO….from what I understand on this one

cons - no storage expansion, mentions of no android updates as manufacturer in trouble, (minor) no standard headphone socket

So, is this one a sensational bargain at a fire sale price or "just a bargain, should be cheaper with cons"?

    Thanks in advance

    • That's the cheapest it has ever been. You're not going to get it cheaper. Some phones goes up in price when the company stopped producing them.

      • Thanks HandsomeMonkey…unfortunately doesn't specifically tell me it's an excellent price - there's "cheap but it's rubbish" and "genuinely cheap as it is worth it".

        • +1

It's cheap and it's not rubbish. I've owned a Le Max 2, Le 2 and Le Pro 3 and coming in the mail the Le S3 x626 which was posted earlier on Ozbargain for $100USD.

    • Looks like LineageOS runs on this model, if you're up for a little tinkering. Should be fine for Android updates for a while at least with that.

      • Can lineageos cater for all drivers in this phone? Any functionality missing?

        • Not sure as I don't have one but nothing listed as not working on XDA thread

      • "if you're up for a little tinkering"….some forced learning then LOL Thanks bamzero

    • Get a Redmi note 3 SE. Cheap and good

      • +1

Interesting but an extra $65 if I'm looking at the correct Gearbest page………..though I see it has been far cheaper in old OzB listings. Thanks.

Price is a concern but I see it covers some missing features on the LeEco.

      • Differences in CPU, GPU ! Etc. You might want to compare the specs. This phone will shit all over Redmi Note 3 SE.

    • +1

if you are upgrading from a 2g phone, these china droids used to have an edge in that they had a 1080p fhd screen cheap when australian model phones cost $600+.

those days are gone and we regularly see a 1year old flagship going cheap in australia for $400 or less eg LG v20, or zte or motorola etc.

there is an ozbargain survey for popular votes of great value phones, maybe look at that.

32gb is a lot of stuff and remember it needs to be backed up.

      • ozbargain survey for popular votes of great value phones

Sounds useful! How would I find it? I had a search, but only found free stuff for doing surveys…

  • +1

    Thanks op. Bought one

  • does it have fast charge and is it 4g/3g or 4g/2g thanks.

    • +1

Fast charge but it doesn't come with the a fast charge wall plug. It supports 4g/3g or 3g/4g.

  • What a terrible name for a phone

    • Leeco Le Max 2 sounds terrible? Why?

I love the word Le infront of it. Sounds French. Do you know a sport brand called Le Cock?

  • What kind of ROM does it run on ? I have had bad experience with most Chinese droids. Most run highly customised version of Android. Sometimes its even hard to change the language to English from Chinese. High hardware specs are good, but a poor ROM/OS can ruin even the best hardware.

    • yes, OS is key, no point having great hardware if the software isn’t good.

    • +1

Research how to flash a rom.

      • +1

Did the research, many of the available ROMs are from dodgy developers/entities and contain spywares. I rooted a Lenovo droid an year ago. The ROM was full of spyware.

  • So I finally decide to go with it….and it is no longer available. Sheesh!!

  • What ROM are others using this phone?
