**OZB EXCLUSIVE** HiFi / Equipment Rack - Save $449 - **Pickup Hallam (Vic) Only** Now Only $50

350

Hi Guys,

We have a super special for you today and it is EXCLUSIVE to OZB members! 61 AVAILABLE

Why So Cheap?

…simple! It's a factory second :)

These racks were ordered in as a premium product and we were going to sell them for $499, however they have arrived with some minor faults. Therefore we are selling these off cheap as "factory seconds". Don't be afraid though, this is your chance to get a great deal.

These have been successfully selling these as factory seconds for $199.

Here is a list of the minor faults and how they can be fixed:

  • Minor blemishes in the paint work: You can repaint if needed but chances are your devices will cover any visible scratches or marks in the paint.
  • Superficial rust (refer to images): This can be removed simply by wiping the steel tubing and the welds with a cloth.
  • Slight alignment issues (refer to images): Simply bend legs where necessary.
  • Some MDF shelves may need to be shaved with a sharp knife or a grinding tool (like a Dremel) before they'll fit into place (refer to images).

We assure you that these are still great looking racks and the minor faults will not affect their performance. We have this rack set up in our store and it gets many compliments.

High-End Hi-Fi Rack for Audio Equipment

This high-end rack has 5 shelves for your equipment, including a larger bottom shelf space to house larger amplifiers and provide better ventilation. The shelves are made of MDF which has better sound absorption qualities than other materials. Each shelf is individually isolated by spikes.

Benefits of a Good Rack

A good rack provides a stable support for your Hi Fi / Home Theatre equipment, decreases or eliminates vibration and most importantly allows your equipment to breathe and run cooler! Today's multi-channel Home Theatre amps and AV Receivers can get pretty warm! Equipment stored in enclosed cabinets cannot breath properly and may overheat, causing shut down and potentially reduce the lifespan of your valuable equipment. A properly designed rack allows air to circulate around your equipment, helping it to run at an acceptable temperature and prolong it's life.

Tripod Design

The three legged tripod design of this rack provides great stability. Three contact points is the most stable option, as it ensures the stand will not rock.

Quality Finish

This rack looks great, with a black steel tubing frame, black MDF shelves and silver isolation spikes. It's modern design is a perfect match for today's hi-fi components.

Dimensions:

  • Overall Height: 1050mm
  • Overall Width: 600mm
  • Overall Depth: 520mm
  • Top Shelf Height: 130mm
  • Middle Self Height: 180mm
  • Bottom Shelf Height: 265
  • Shelf Width between posts: 510mm
  • MDF Thickness: 8mm

  • Price in tittle please, also the fact that they are 2nds

    • +2

And I'm not sure if "High End" and "MDF" can be in the same sentence!

  • +5

The faults dont seem that minor to me

    • -1

Yeap, they don't look minor to me either.

    • +1

None stop you using the rack for its intended use and you can fix the problems yourself.

You can sand the rust off, apply a rust stopping treatment and spray it black

If the bad laminate on the MDF is at the front then turn the wood around, if you cant turn it then use some of the black spray paint you used when fixing the rust. If you do not use every unit you can put the bad MDF away and use only the good pieces, or you can buy some new wood.

      • +3

        Spot on anthony!

If you have never dealt with us before it is hard to explain but we always try to overdescribe any issue so when you get your item your are pleasantly suprised.

Having never dealt with us before you cannot possibly know this.

Just to clarify a couple of points.

The MDF will only need to be shaved at the back leg to slot in (the front and sides are fine) and you will not see the point at which you *may have to modify.

*The rust is only on the surface and just needs a wipe off with a cloth. You could sand and paint if you felt the need but it is not required.

None of this affects the performance of the product and as a HiFi stand it works really well.

The reason we have said pickup only is so we can show you this in store!

To see one in situ follow this link:

        http://images.marketplaceadvisor.channeladvisor.com/hi/68/68…

I have this setup in my house :)

        • I actually agree with the other posters that these sounds like a little more than "minor faults" (if you need to use a dremel to correct it, the fault isn't minor).

But I'm going to + you anyway, because you used "in situ".

    • Not worth $50 with surface rust and out of alignment, why would you put $5000+ audio gear on something that is rusting and can probably fall since the alignment is screwy with those little feet.

  • -3

who would pay more than $50 for an ugly rack like that anyway, let alone with all those faults?

  • +20

    nice set of racks…

    • +4

      Pictures? :)

      • +7

I wondered how long it would take ;)

    • +25

      someone mention my name

      • +1

i'll play the may i help you riff

        • no stairway!

    • +2

Is this some sort of bust?

  • +3

    "Slight alignment issues"

Whilst the likely buyers of these units are audiophiles who may not mind the cosmetic defects, misalignment is an entirely different matter for them.

    "Simply bend legs where necessary."

Hmm, I can't see people begging for them ;)
Never mind, just pulling your leg.

  • -3

I'll give you 6 bucks. Take it or leave it.

  • +1

I have dealt with Selby before, and they have a great reputation at the DTV Forum.
I would bet that these products are exactly as Selby has described them.

In saying that I may just have to come down and check it out… for $50 it's hard to pass up.

  • +2

if you can post it i will buy it ..

  • +1

Would also be interested if you could post it.

  • +1

    Another for postage.

  • -3

I once bought a cheap Hi-Fi rack from those discount stores. I think it was about $25. The shelves were made from laminated MDF, and the support legs were made out of HOLLOW PLASTIC. Needless to say it did't last long.

  • +5

I've seen better racks for free. Had nothing to do with audio gear though.

  • +1

    $500 original price??!¡¡¿!!

Rusty hifi rack with wonky legs eh?
Usually available free on hard rubbish day in my area…

Reckon this bloke would describe poop as "slightly used food" :p

    • That's because these are seconds. They are worth $500 when they are not rusted and misaligned.
Read the description properly before making accusations next time.

      • -3

"Read the description properly before making accusations next time"
…so you are in a position to give people orders are you?
        See the :p
I am obviuosly joking around, you forkwit.

    • +2

Reckon this bloke would describe poop as “slightly used food” :p

Nothing against the deal, but I've gotta admit that was funny! I'm sure even the OP chuckled! ;)

  • +2

I am not sure. This store may be trying to offload junk.

But must accept and commend them for going to the trouble of explaining the faults and solutions.

So the buyer is able to come to the store, inspect and make an informed decision. No hoodwinking. A fair trade I would say IMO.

But for the audio racks, do we really need these for really high end equipment? If that is so, why scrimp on this racks, might as well go with the high end racks too.

  • +1

Great deal I think. I wish they were in SA though.

  • +1

any chance to pickup at another store location (geelong) or post?

  • This is a great deal for a nice Hifi rack, and unless your somewhat 'special' when it comes to being handy you can fix the minor issues easy.

The guys at Selby are great and they will go beyond to help you out, I had an issue with my speakers (not purchased from selby) and they offered for me to bring them in and see if it happens in there demo room. I don't know of many places that would offer that!

  • +1

Selby's pretty good guys. I have some speaker stands of theirs which are still going strong.

    Hi All,

Wow what a mixed bunch of comments.

Thanks to those who have supported us in this attempt to provide an exclusive OZB bargain.

I know that some people are not able to appreciate this (ie. the ugly comments etc) however at $50 these represent excellent value for money PROVIDED you are prepared to do a little work.

These racks are only good to you though if you a) need one and/or b) know what similar ones of these sell for in retail stores. Go to your local electronics or Hifi store and you will see what I mean! It is easy to spend $1000+ on a stand that does teh same thing (albeit minus the work)

They certainly wont appeal to the masses as they are designed with a singular purpose in mind.

As for POSTAGE … at this stage we are not going to offer this as we really do want people to see them before purchasing however, based on this response, there may be enough people wanting them to have us change our mind :) … we will let you know.

Pickup in GEELONG may also be an option if enough people are interested. We may be able to ship a pallet of these down in the next week or so if the cost is justifiable.

    • -4

      Free deliver to SA :)

    • Would also be interested if post is available.

  • Is it $50 per rack or do you get 5 racks as in the photo? So if I need to house my Amp, Blu-ray player, PVR, and PS3 would I need to buy 4 racks at $50 each?

  • +1

If you can ship to the Geelong store, I'd pick up 2 :)

Also, are these flatpacked or pre-assembled?

    • See post below :(

  • +1 for postage to Perth.

  • been looking for a rack for a while.
how do i buy it now? will pick up next week.

  • Please offer postage to Brisbane!

  • +1

Geelong would be great, hallam too far!

  • count me in for geelong too!

  • +1

yeap.. definitely 1 for me if its available from geelong..

  • Need post to Sydney. Thanks.

    Great Rack

This looks like a great deal and you only have to be a little net savvy to know that these guys have earned a reputation as a great outfit from many diverse satisfied customers.

I have not bought anything yet but for those of us who like to tweak and work on our gear this is a fantastic opportunity.

    Thanks guys.
The negative comments are usually from sad creatures who lost an online game or have nothing in their miserable lives but to troll for a reaction.

Those of us who consider ourselves half handy welcome the offer.

    • +2

You started out so well, but then you had to take a pointless swipe. No soup for you.

    • +1

      sockpuppet much?

      • @tomsco - just want to be clear here … you are not accusing me of sockpuppeting are you?

        • +1

He is talking about 33Hooray, being a sockpuppet for you !

I am thinking that too , otherwise who in their right mind would write such a douche thing, and sign up just to post that comment ?

        • +1

In tomsco's defence, 33hooray45 signed up that day and has made exactly one comment - here!!! I was suspicious myself! :p

That is fairly typical sockpuppet behaviour, sadly anecdotal evidence suggests that sometimes if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck…well, you get my drift! ;)

Feel free to report it to the mods for clarification though! :)

        • I apologise, obviously this time I was wrong, but as StewBalls said, that is the exact behaviour of a sockpuppet. Sign up, post on one deal talking it up, and criticising all the nay sayers. TBH, I always thought it was a good deal, but people like 33Hooray45 come along and sour peoples experience here, and they may simply associate his negative comments with this deal.

Hope you're not mad at me :)

      • Not a sockpuppet. While it's great to report sockpuppets via the REPORT button, let's not publically accuse new members as sockpuppets without evidence. Leave the investigating to trained Internet detectives.

  • NVM, found the info

  • Hi everybody,

After much discussion and chatting about it we are unable to offer postage on these I am sorry.

They come in 2 boxes (one for the shelves and one for the stands) and although we have posted them in the past we are not able to offer these the same.

As I stated in an earlier post:

As for POSTAGE … at this stage we are not going to offer this as we really do want people to see them before purchasing however, based on this response, there may be enough people wanting them to have us change our mind :) … we will let you know.

We really do want people to see these so there is no confusion or misunderstanding about them. We pride ourselves on our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and without seeing these prior to taking one we just can't offer that to you.

    Sorry :(

For the Geelong guys - Perhaps you can put together a purchasing party / group buy? If you were to get the 5 people above and hire / borrow a van and drive up to collect this maybe worth your while. Due to the size of the boxes the cost to put these on TNT to Geelong would cost us a small fortune … again sorry!

    • No worries… Round trip to Hallam is easily half a day hehe.. shame tho.. thanks again

    • bummer. thats me out then.

    • +1

Due to the size of the boxes the cost to put these on TNT to Geelong would cost us a small fortune

Which would also be the same for people who want 1 delivered to their house.

Lots of people here will probably expect shipping to only cost $10 and if you try and charge the real price they will complain that it is unfairly high

  • -1

    +1 for postage to Brisbane!

    • +1

Can you not read? it clearly says pickup only

  • Are these still available, and if so how many?

  • Hi blaast…

We have around 34 left at last count :)
