Hey OP, can you add micro-sd 16GB / 32 GB cards with adopters or SD-cards to this sale?

    • +1

      It will be updated soon.

      • I'm getting "This code can't be applied to your order." on all of the items. Any idea why?

    • Agreed some 8gb and 16gb cards would be most welcome

  • -1

    never learn

  • +2

gearbest last deal was aud$21 ?

    • This deal is Australian stock and warranty from Australian seller. You can PM me if you are looking for Oversea stock deal.

      • +1

hi why is evo $4 more than evo plus? i thought evo plus has a fast write speed

        • The special is applied on EVO plus. but not on EVO this time.

  • +1

cmon op give us some cheap microsds for all my xiaofangs

    • I've got a xiaofang and a dafang in the mail from the recent deals. Do you know what capacity micro sd's they can take?

  • +3

Are these any good for dashcams?

    • +3

yes they're good for dashcam, but samsung warranty excludes dashcam usage

      • How will they know? :P

        • +1

i'd have thought their diagnostic tools able to retrieve the usage pattern (looping data on full capacity and write cycles)

just a theory. not sure as well.

      • +1

I just had an SD Card replaced via Warranty from Samsung that was in my Dashcam. They said it wasn't a problem.

But take my experience with a grain of salt, yours may vary

  • +1

What's the difference between the EVO and EVO Plus?

    • +7

Mainly write speed. Read is fairly consistent between them.

      EVO+ is around 20MBps
      Evo Plus is 60MBps to 90MBps (depending on capacity - 32GB and 64GB are around 60MBps, 128GB and 256GB are around 90MBps)
Evo Pro is around 90MBs for all capacities, though they only go up to 64GB.

(Yes, it is stupid that they have Evo+ and Evo Plus as two different products with markedly different write speed performance).

Scroll down the following links and expand the menu to find the specifications.

      EVO +:
      http://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/evo-plus-sd-card/MB…

      EVO Plus:
      http://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/evo-plus-microsd-ca…

      EVO Pro:
      http://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/pro-plus-sd-card/MB…

If you're really paranoid, go and check out the storagereview.com articles on these cards, there are some mildly interesting exceptions but generally the above is good enough.

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SanDisk-Ultra-128GB-Micro-SD-SDX…

How is the Sandisk compared to this, both listed as 100MBps. I am after a 128GB one

      • +2

You should add the Evo Select to your comparison, I've only seen them on Amazon so far but they've got 90 read and write for 128 and 64, but only 60 write for the 32. They cost about the same as these but $5 shipping from the US.

      • +2

don't forget, theres also the old Evo Plus, the EVO +, which is comparable to the current Evo Plus, not to be confused with the current EVO +, which isn't comparable with the current EVO plus

        • +1

          Shit, this is getting ridiculous.

  • +1

    Any deals on the 256GB?

    • +1

256GB is included but may not be the best yet. I will made a post once we got better deal.

  • +1

I ordered last night and it was $38.90 for 64gb.now it's only $34.95 before discount. :S

  • are these good for viofo 119s dashcam? whats the max capacity for the 119s anyways?

    • 128GB max I believe. Evo's generally are good for most makes of dashcam including the A119 and G1w.

      • ooh i was scouring through ozbargain comments and most people are using 64GB??

    • +1

Dash cams - inc the 119s - should use a high endurance memory card (as data is constantly being written onto them).

Memory cards like this are generally not recommended as they have a tendency to fail. I have 2x Viofo 119s and one of them refused to read my samsung evo card - so I swapped it out with the one in my phone.

      • Yes I was reading about requiring high endurance SD cards. what brand did you end up getting anyways? i will prob get a 64gb here for the rpi3 that was on ozb recently

I bought one of these few weeks ago and received a card with a CN serial number which means it’s meant for Chinese market.

How does the OP claim it’s AU stock ?

    • -5

The memory card shipped from AU warehouse, comes from local suppliers. But they may be vary from it's packaging. But they are all genuine and comes with same replacement warranty in Australia.

      • +4

The question that needs to be asked is, if we call Samsung Australia and provide the serial number of the product, will they accept any warranty calls?

        • Good question. I don’t know and I hope not to use any warranty service.

    • +7

They're using the standard "dodgy chinese-run store" tactic of arguing that AU stock means that it's physically stored in Australia as opposed the product having been made for the Australian market. I would steer of grey imports like this because they're not as consistent in their benchmarks as SD cards sold for western markets are… Makes you suspicious that the manufacturers use poor/rejected quality chips for markets such as China.

      • -1

A Samsung Galaxy S8 made for china is just as good as the one made for sale in Aus…

I got a LG G PRO 2 gray import phone .. i used it for 5 years and only now has the battery died.. after 5 years of 15 hours a day use watching movies and shows on it all day on the train and in the office :)

      • STOCK is not China its Singapore stock and that's still the austral Asia area region.. not sure if that's the same as AU stocked.. but meh.. $27 bux and works fast i'm happy

    • +1

I had the same experience a month or so ago. It is Chinese grey import, and the Australian warranty is 1 year provided by the store when the Samsung warranty is 10 years (unavailable for grey imports) I would avoid them if you care about warranty. Their customer service was very poor also, so never again for me.

      • Hi AsSeenOnTv,

If you having problem with our CS team, You may PM me with the details, I might able to help.

        • Hi Danilochan
Thanks anyway but I gave them plenty of opportunity before and as far as I am concerned the only dealing I want to have with them now is to make a warranty claim under consumer law within the 10 years.

        • @AsSeenOnTv:

Please PM me with the details, I will try to help.

      • Does your card have similar read/write speeds to what is claimed on the packaging?

        • I haven't checked the speeds, I am happy enough with the card itself, and assumed they would all come from the same factory (?). The issue I have is that it was not identified as a Chinese grey import and therefore didn't have the Samsung 10 year warranty which is something I was looking for as it was replacing another grey import 128GB EVO card.

    • mine is /APC = Singapore :) .. and i can confirm its REAL as no fake can do what this thing does. Mine reads faster then any PC SATA SSD ive ever used :)

  • +5

Got a Sandisk card from the said seller previously - 64GB Sandisk Extreme. Write speed is way below from an exact card that was purchased from another reputable eBay seller. (25MB/s vs 90MB/s)

Raised a case via eBay & got it returned and got my refund back.

Good thing is the refund process was prompt & turnaround within 3 days upon receipt of returned goods.

That said, I will never risk purchasing from the same again.

    • How do you test the speeds?
I bought one and would like to do the same tests

      • +1

        Mac: Blackmagic Speed Test

      • SD speed test app from the app store mine got 35/480 write/read

    • These Samsungs are writing at around 35MB a second but the read speeds are at around 480MBS .. thats insane.. must be genuen for sure.. i moved a 4GB file in a few seconds LOL .. and the video file worked so its REALLY doing 480MBPS :)

Not sure whats going on with the write speed as its not very close to the rated 60MBPS but its faster at reading them most PC SSD's that's impressive my Samsung 840 EVO SSD is the bottleneck its too slow lol .. it a Singapore stocked product code at the end - /APC

  • +1

Got the Samsung gear 360 and needed a memory card for it, so great timing. Cheers

    • Good idea; think I'll do the same.

  • Cheers

  • Is this card fast enough for 4k video on a gopro?

  • Got myself a 64GB evo plus.. thanks OP :)

  • Can these be used in a Nintendo Switch?

    • +1

Yes, I have the 64gb Evo in mine and it works fine

  • Given some of the discussion here I thought it would be helpful to share this link: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Identify-a-Fake-Samsu…

  • Received my card today and it appears to be genuine (as per the post above), however I have not run H2Test on it yet as it takes quite some time.

The Model code ends in APC which I am assuming means it's for the Asia Pacific region?

It also, interestingly, has a Harvey Norman price label attached to it for $79.00.

    Looks promising so far. Thanks.

    • Ran a test using a mobile phone app on the 64GB Micro SD card.. its write speed is 36Mb and read speed is 480mb a second

Not sure what to make of that seeing that its rated speed are 60mb write and 100mb read a second

Going by the model number it looks like the stock is meant for Singapore as stated by samsung.com website - MB-MC64GA/APC
That could still be AUS stock as its Singapore is in the Asia pacifistic Reagan but i dont know.

whatever its a real Samsung SD and I'm happy with it for the discounted price. :)

  • +1

Hi, thanks received mine today, but what is the relationship between Shopping Square and Harvey Norman?

    • +1

Yeah man I got the same thing in my two I purchased. It has a Harvey Norman sticker with $79 price on the back.

      Zapals owns ShoppingSquare?

      • Yes, same here, so definitely Aus stock. HN take over?

  • Got my 128GB unit and its CN serial.

Im guessing this means China, that plus the fact the whole package is in Chinese.

have not got around to doing much testing yet.
