Are these guaranteed to be genuine?

      • +1

ShoppingExpress does have good reputation so it's probably a good sign, but I have purchased two fakes in the past 6 months, probably my fault really for not researching properly.

        • Fakes from which store?

        • +4

          @tightarse:

Not ShoppingExpress, some smaller outlets. They had relatively good reputation, but I think it was padded/fake. It was my fault for not using a trusted seller. You can tell immediately from the packaging.

That being said, I think it's good to have a question like "Are these genuine?" with customer experiences listed below. If the general consensus is Yes they it helps people with less technical background (like my parents) make decisions easier, and also helps them find a trusted seller for future stuff.

I haven't seen Orpheus post that question before, so maybe it is a shit post, but I don't think it's out of context here.

          @tightarse:

I have lost all faith in anything TA posts, especially stores based in Asia. We got burned by SHOPMONK and Mobileciti and even theses cards have a question mark all over them.

I will keep being the voice of the people and stand up for dodgy behavior

        • +4

@eneloop: That’s fine, people are savvy enough to decide for themselves if a deal is good or not.

But I’m sure all our Asian friends would like to see what you really think of them. Sadly speaks volumes of your opinions…

@eneloop: Agreed. There seems to be some unstated rule on OzBargain where you must only say positive things or praise this guy otherwise you will be negged and silenced. Plus everything gets conveniently covered up. It seems that you must not ever question those who are popular and in power, for only they know whats best for us all and by default you are always wrong!

        • @Orpheus:

Back under your bridge you pair, jv is calling a troll meeting :)

        • @eneloop: Stand against dodgy I think you mean.

Whenever people speak out your either labled a looney or your a troll

        • @eneloop:
You're entitled to speak out, but not in every single post, I think what you have here is a disorder.

        • @nocure:
No not every post but only the dodgy stores.

        • @Orpheus:

Not the first deleted hissy fit and won't be the last. You've seen enough to know to grab a screenshot…hahaha.

I preferred it when comments couldn't be changed after a reply had been made.

    • I just got mine (I paid $10 more a couple of weeks ago) and it seems real to me.

      • Thanks.

Just wanted to say, the example you posted of historical controversy of fakes for ShoppingExpress can hardly be considered a "history of controversy". I could not find any other examples of complaints or mention of fakes.

Also, their store has exceptionally positive feedback, and I just don't see any evidence historically of them selling any fakes.

I'd be happy spending my money there I think.

Shopping Express is good, and are based in Australia.
Don't confuse them Shopping Square who have some things shipped from Hong Kong, and are part of Apus Auction, who many on OzBargain have had bad experiences with in the past.

        • With both being owned by Zapals

        • @Clear:

Is that the same as Zapals.com (the one with freebie* giveaways)?

        • +1

          @diamondtouch1: Yes. Zapals Corporation.

        • @Clear: So Zapals own Shopping Express?

        • +1

@RedHab: Nope. Shopping Square and Apus Auction.

  • Whats the cheapest these have ever been?

    • +2

This is the cheapest so far

  • Just received mine yesterday from the previous deal. Haven't tested yet but looks genuine.

    • Got mine yesterday too, it seems genuine. Tested it with h2testw and it filled and verified the card no worries. Wrote at an average of 78 MB/Sec and read at over 80

  • +1

Just found the newest model of this card (100MB/s) on PC Byte for 40 cents less https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/336588

    • ^ yep this evo(plus) model is the newer faster version of this evo(+) model

    • +2

So is there any reason to get this one over that?

      • Nope

For a buck extra you get the latest version

        It's a no brainer

        • -1

Hmmm, I wonder how this has 50+ pos votes then.

        • The 'Plus' version seems to have some minor improvements in read speed over the previous version, but huge jump in write. For the same price, absolutely pick the PC Byte version.

        • @Strand0410:

Yeah I for the new plus version for $136 from futu during a recent eBay sale.

I filled the card at an average of 78MB/sec

        • @Strand0410: Agreed. I hope people read through the entire comment section to realize this instead of making an impulse purchase on an older inferior model simply based on the popularity of this "bargain".

Shopping express is legit I use to go his shop at Kingsford and buy parts and go to the computer fair with him. When I was at Randwick tafe I use to go past his shop to get stuff printed for assignments. He'd do it for free nicest person out there.

  • Would this be ok for a gopro 5 black?

    • +1

      perfect card for 4k

  • good card i have the 128gb and works well in gopro 5 for 4k

  • I bought an EVO+ 128GB microsd from Futu online (associated with Shopping Express). It died about 6 months in :/ Not sure if fake or a dud. What's the go with warranty from these guys?

    • What's the go with warranty from these guys?

Contact Samsung directly for rma. Tell them you purchased the item from futu.

For those on Apple hardware- I recommend a microSD flush adapter. A cheap way to increase that un-upgradable storage.

I've had one for years- no issues at all. I even game of the microSD (bootcamp windows).

    Here's on I use (on a MacBook Pro Retina 15) http://www.8mobility.com/islice_eng.html

    • What's the speed like?
I know they can't compete with a decent MLC SSD (Crucial MX300, WD Blue3D, Sam 850 EVO)… but shouldn't they give an external hard-drive a run for their money?

Granted the disparity between the storage capacities (256GB vs 2TB).

  • Is this big enough to fit all my bitcoins?

  • So, this or the PC Byte offer? Who's more reliable?

    • both, i've bought things from both suppliers multiple times without issue, with a bias on bigger ticket items towards SE

    • the PC Byte one is the newer version its quicker..

note the difference between '+'(older version) and 'plus'(new version)

    • OP does the marketing here for both companies so would think they're on par with each other.

PC Byte has the newer version but who will win the popularly contest between ec and ta? Maybe one of them is Sophie Monk or Kim Jong Trump

      • +1

OP does the marketing here for both companies

Pretty sure OP works for Cashrewards

        • Pretty sure OP works for Cashrewards

…and just happens to find out about super awesome amazing deals for around a dozen other companies that will sometimes happen to have hilarious ****arse discount codes but are generally a little more subtle

  • Anyone used this or the pcbyte version as android adoptable storage? Any issues?

Been keeping an eye out for this, thanks TA!

  • I should have just ordered this one. I ordered one from Gearbest more than a month ago. They haven't even shipped it yet.

  • sorry bit of a newbie - i know this post mentions it comes with an adapter - but the ebay listing does not mention an adapter anywhere - can anyone confirm? thanks!
