I've looked all over for new booking.com cash backs and this seems to be only working one.

This is cashback (directly to your card) at Booking.com. I successfully used all 3 cashbacks on my account and 2 on my wife's account. Additionally, once you get to 5 bookings, you'll get 10% off hotels (.genius) which can be useful in the future (sometimes they'll offer you it to trial).

Process

(1) Click the link, ensure you see this banner at the bottom of the screen.
(2) Find the hotel you want to book and add it to your cart.
(3) In Step 2 'Enter your details' you'll see a greenbox to confirm the cashback amount applies OR it will tell you how much more you need to spend. Successful or Need to spend more. So you'll know if you haven't met the spend and don't need to worry too much about working it out.
(4) Make your booking once you see the cashback has applied above.
(5) You might get some prompt to do this or you may already have a credit card on file (however you may need to select it to receive the cashback). If you haven't been prompted then go to settings > credit card > add a card > enter your credit card details > click 'Use this card for my cash rewards'. The cashback will then be paid to card after you complete your stay.

Confirming the cashback after booking: Login to your account and click 'bookings' > 'View your bookings'. Scroll down slightly and you should see a banner like this.

Before your stay: A day or two before you will receive emails about your cashback most likely, eg "We hope you have an awesome trip! After your stay, you'll get an email about your US$40 reward from Booking.com. The reward is paid to your preferred credit card and sent shortly after that."

After your stay: If you don't add a credit card as per step 5, you'll get something like this after your booking: "Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed your trip! Now that you've stayed, it's time to cash in on the reward we promised. Note: We can put your rewards money faster on Visa cards due to recent changes in Mastercard regulations. Although not all Mastercard credit/debit cards are affected, at this time we cannot guarantee that your rewards money will be paid on Mastercard."

Keep in mind: This deal is great for short stays/smaller spends. However for longer/larger booking you may be better off with a % back or similar deal elsewhere. OzBargain Hotels page.

  • Yes, you can pay cash at the hotel and still receive the cashback. Comment and here.

  • Cashrewards/Pricepal/TopCashback whatever won't work and I've been told by a rep from a cashback site via their Booking.com affiliate person that they will not be paying them even with a claim.

  • If you find a better rate at least 24 hours before your check-in date, Booking.com will refund you the difference via their price match policy.

  • AmEx is technically not permitted to be used for this promotion HOWEVER if you can pay at the hotel, then you can use your AmEx + collect any AmEx Statement credits. See here.

  • If you want to use this offer more than once, then you'll have to use another account.

  • If you have already used another $40 off $200 deal, you may not be able to claim this. It is a different link & banner colour however the offer might be counted as the same. I'm not sure.

T&Cs

——-> This promotion can only be used ONCE per account. <——-

You can use a max of 3 different promotions per account (this deal, $80 spend, $40 back, etc.).

It's a good deal, but not as good as the one's in the past

Was just about to book my next accom overseas in Jan. Thanks OP 😊

  • First thing that I said out aloud when I read this. booking dot com, booking dot yeah!!

    • that's an unusual thing to say out (a)loud when reading an Ozbargain post.

  • I booked accomodation for my December trip using one of the offer on September. Everything is alright and my booking confirmation shows there is 40usd cash back after my stay. But now when check my confirmation, the 40usd cash back has disappeared. Has anyone encountered this problem? Is there any expiry period for these offer?

  • Should I cancel my booking and rebook with this?

    • +1

First make a new booking then cancel (if free cancellation)

  • Thanks

  • Thanks

  • I paid for an Australian hotel in AUD on booking.com and got a charge for an overseas transaction fee on my cc. The payment portal is in the Netherlands.

  • So can only do only one of the $40 cashback, referral cash back, or cashrewards?

      • Cashrewards.com.au (and Pricepal) won't work at all.
      • You can only use this promotion ($200, get $40 back) ONCE.
      • You can do this plus 2 other promotions including a referral per account per year.
  • Thanks for this. Just booked a couple of nights in Sydney to take the kids to the aquarium and Taronga.

  • Does it have to booked with one place or can the 200 be spent over a few motels?

    Thanks

    • One booking so one place.

  • I assume you have to book using USD or can we book using equivalent in AUD to received the cashback?

    • +1

No, book in any currency for any hotel. Booked hotels in Europe & Singapore and got USD cashback.

  • I booked crown towers, stayed last weekend, had the banner in 'my bookings' and it listed under it booking completed and was on the confirm credit card stage.
Double checked it was on my file (credit card #) so thought it will be processed soon.
Today I log in and can't find that banner anywhere,. Not sure what's going on there, no email to confirm reward was processed?

    • You should have received an email saying they are processing your cash back. For my last stay, I received an email 2 days after I completed my stay and then got the money within a week or so. Did you use American Express?

      • No, just added an NAB visa Debit, but paid at the hotel.
Just find it weird it was there to see one day, but all trace gone the next.
I will contact customer support if I don't see a payment in the next day or two.
I could have booked directly with crown for almost the same saving this offered, so won't be happy if it's not honoured.
Can you still see previous redemptions in your bookings screen?

        • I'm beginning to think that they're trying to weasel out of the promotion on me.
No sign of my progress anywhere on the site or my account since last week, no emails in regards to it, and my emails regarding it have gone unanswered.

  • I wanted to use this, but booking.com's rates were not good, in fact, very bad ( looking at Singapore in March)
Would be more expensive even with the cashback, compared to agoda.
    A bit disappointing.

    • They do price match apparently.

      • pretty sure booking owns agoda - but their rates do differ

  • so how to check cash back progress after you have stayed at the hotel, as when you go to bookings it only shows the date and no other info. No email received by them either after staying… not sure if this promo works.

  • I just cancelled the hotel I booked via the this deal, am I still eligible for the rewards if I book another one?

  • Just wondering if I'm still eligible if I change the dates of the booking I made with this offer? Amount spent stays the same, well above minimum spend.

  • Yay!, It’s done. Your US$40 is already on its way you don't have to do nothing, that was a few week's back, still zippo!

  • If I've used the Spend $80 & get $40 back deal, am I still eligible for this one?

    • Yes, but this is expired now.

      • lol, i posted this in the wrong deal, there's another spend $200 get $40 back in new deals
