  • Where is it $397? HN does not have the same bundle as target…so would not price match

    • Thanks…when u add to cart..comes down to $397

  • or get it delivered to take it over the $400 mark

    • Will that make it qualify for the Amex deal?

I've got an Oculus Rift, but this is tempting for $300

      • +1

Just confirming that yes, postage does count towards the $400 spend. I just got the VR for $397+$7.95 postage ($404.95 in total), paid using the amex option and I got an email from amex almost immediately confirming I just used the offer.

        • Nice. Might just don't then

  • +1

Use 2 months free trial of Shipster from Aus Post and get free delivery https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/341889

  • How is this deal compared to the one from the other day? 370 I think it was (but different items)

  • So tempted to get this now and buy the PS pro later! I don't have a PS4, LOL.

  • +3

Will probably use amex deal for Switch

  • how do you get the amex cash back, is there a link?

    • i see, had to already sign up to it, but now its over. right?

      • +1

correct, maxed out on number of cards adding the offer

  • If you can get the cashback, it's probably a comparable deal to the Gamesmen one yesterday.

    • Works out better for me as I've already got GT Sport. Still on the fence though. I've got an Oculus Rift and also have a 4k HDR TV so no HDR passthrough could be a pain

  • Looks like not available in any store near me. Probably has not been released yet as Skyrim bundle officially launches today

  • Not bad, it's a nice bit of kit - but with the new 1.5version coming soon. With thinner cable and 1080p output through the side box to the tv.

The thinner cable "would" be nice compared to the 1st ver…..though $399 would be nice!!

    • +1

Hmm yes just read an article on the changes - HDR pass through and built in stereo headphones. Article said the new version was released in Japan already and to read the serial number on the box. Sony also said no price rise.

EDIT - another article says the Skyrim bundle comes with the updated headset. Hope Harvey Norman can confirm.

    • Doh! Double post!!

Not bad, it’s a nice bit of kit - but…

  • I have a Westpac AMEX card would this work?

    • +1

you needed to have signed up during the amex promotion

    • +1

If you’ve saved the offer to the card it will

    • You need to have already signed up to the HN Amex deal linked in the post. Registration limit for that offer has been reached so if you haven't registered already you've missed out unfortunately.

      • +1

FML . it so hard to work and keep an eye on all the bargains at the same time. lol

        • +2

Quit your job. Now. It's seriously detracting from your ozB experience.

  • Is this the revised headset now or have they dropped the price of V1?

    • Judging by v1's release with pre-orders, backlogs, etc considering the v2 isn't even out yet, unless you're lucky and have lots of money to spend, you probably won't be able to get it for at least another year

  • Wonder if Harvey Norman will price match this from Bigw + 10% which is roughly $323. Then add a PSN wallet top up to make it to $400 for cashback.

    • Ask chat they will let u know

      • Online chat were unhelpful and store rejected the FF10 code anyone else had any luck getting the bundle down to $323.10

    • How do you add PSN wallet top up through HN? Gift cards?

Can't see any online and no stores seem to have stock of the bundle

      • I called my local store and they said they can put it on order and will honour the $359 price The PSN cards are always in store so getting them should not be an issue.

  • +2

Looks like the dropped price to $359

    • Thanks updated :)

  • Is is worth getting a new AmEx for similar future deals? I am thinking to get a $0 annual fee AmEx. Are these cashback deals generally offered on all AmEx cards?

    • Yep, and more consistently with Amex issued cards as opposed to bank issued cards. I think. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

  • Damn it's $359 now, what can I add for $41 to get it up to $400? Any recommendations?

Was just going to add shipping to the $397.

    • Some games are really cheap have a look

  • So do we still need to buy the PS4 pro separately

  • Hi I bought this yesterday and got the email for the $100 back . If I call them up and ask them to refund me back the amount (399-359) will they still give me the $100 refund ? Does Amex know at all?

  • Caved and got it, went in store and did the deal, so added a $50 PSN card to push it over the $400.

Already get the email from Amex to say I'd used the offer.

$309 for PSVR, Camera, Skyrim, VR Worlds and a $50 PSN card. Not bad at all. Thanks OP!

    • Great deal man

  • Isn't Sony releasing a new PS4 vR headset ? https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/10/2/16395636/s…

I thought the new headset is coming out this month. Atleast that's what the staff at Sony booth at PAX told me.

    • Yeah but it's a pretty minor update.

      • yeah but it's pretty important too, if you use a AV receiver in the mix issues with version 1, PS pro and Bravia 4K UHD tv and you're asking for trouble.

that little box caused no end of issues for Sony and they won't even just let you upgrade that, they want you to buy the whole new unit. I really wish Sony would do the right thing here and allow you to trade the box as a minimum.

Sony are well aware and are just trying to get rid of the remaining stock, it's bad form they give you a 4kUHD console and a 4KUHD tv and a unit that won't work with them. so they dropped price then 2 weeks later announced new unit the deals seem to keep getting better but if you have new gear it just doesn't like to play.

Screen blacks out for no real reason, second monitor screen didn't work, HDR no chance, Audio wouldn't pass back through receiver even though that has full bypass. it defeated the purpose most of the time.

tracking was pretty bad kept losing the controller so you were continually pausing and resetting.

I'm happy to wait. the reports on the new one has fixed these mysterious bugs.

        • +2

Yeah it's poor form and I do have an HDR TV, I go straight to it from PS4 Pro though. I'll just keep it that way and only connect up the VR when I go to use it. For $259 it's worth a few minor inconveniences

  • yeah i get that and the way my consoles are set up it's a bit of a hassle, with no social screen so to say, unless you're playing alone all the time you can't use the Co OP feature like in the games they gave you as demo's, they also decided to drop PlayStation VR’s audio processing onto the box. so if the social screen is up i lost audio, or if i used it for anything else.

You can use it for other things too just like a HDMI output to a monitor you just have to rearrange the input / output cables but the PS Needs to run so it can power the PU box via the small usb cable.

I just wish they would do the right thing and let people who spent good money as early adopters upgrade the box.

  • Hey OP - they have updated the price to now $349 to match JB HIFI specials. Amex (who registered for $100 cashback) users rejoice.

    • Yeah I got robbed. Bought on the weekend at $359
Already got the $100 cash back though

      • Surely you can get $10 back This is Harvey Norman's price guarantee policy just make sure you do it within 7 days of your purchase. Hope it does no impact your cash back though.

        • Yeah was wondering if it would impact the cash back as it'll bring my spend to $399. I added a $50 PSN card to bring it to $409 so I qualified

  • This deal is now finished
