I suspect because theres no reason why a price drop would be temporary for a product that is outdated especially.

The 502 is more recent stocks with slightly different packaging.
is there any differences in the camera itself?? like, did they fix any issues. improved anything

The product itself is almost identical. I would choose the 502 as it's more recent with updated firmware.
