Has anybody tried using this for multiple accounts? What would be the criteria for each account? A different credit card or would they need a new name as well?

    • +1

I think you can claim this offer for each account. Some of the comments above mentioned that the same credit card can be used for different accounts.

      • I would be concerned and wary that they might not honour the refund/cashback based on for example, if the account is in name of Jenny Jones, yet the card your asking credit to be tranfered back onto is John Jones.
Even if in same family, issues could arise whereby booking.com could reasonably argue not to put funds back onto card where the card name, and account name are different.
I wonder why they dont just give use the discount straight up to start with, instead of us paying, then getting half back

        • +1

Not sure about that. But is there a reason why the booking wouldn't be made under Jenny Jones and use Jenny Jones's credit card? If the booking is for John, why not create an account for John and use his credit card?

I am assuming 100% of this cashback is covered by Booking.com but most of the time, the room charges are paid directly to the hotel. If the discount is offered at the time of booking, then it will be confusing and difficult at the hotel. Could also be because of rate parity issues so that customers don't price match this deal with other third party websites. Some of the customers might stick to a loyalty program of a particular website (Expedia, Agoda etc.,), So it will be good for Booking.com to attract some of those customers. My 2 cents but I could be wrong

I had the same concern but had all cashbacks paid out no issues using the same card ~10 times

        • @morgs640:
Cool . In different account names to the name showing on your card Im guessing. Strange they dont have their computer systems check to see if name on account, is same as verified name on bank card.

  • Amex still not eligible for this?

  • Can I use this promotion and the $25 cash reward by being referred from friends together?

    • Answered above. No, not together. Separately yes.

      • Yes. I realized as soon as I found out they have separate links for both promotions :(

      • Hi Neil, do you know if I have booked the same promotion posted by you and now again used OP's link? Will I get the US$40 refund twice? Many thanks.

        • Not sure if they're counted as 2 different promotions. I've only ever booked with different cash backs. Not even sure where these promos come from.

        • @neil: it worked. Were counted as 2 different promotions. Received 6 payments of $53 at the end for my trip to Tassie. Many thanks.

  • Has anyone had issue with the promo when it appeared during payment and disappeared after payment?

  • On the banner, is it also now showing "Minimum spend US$200" for anybody else??

    • Still showing spend $80 for me. Try clearing browser cache and cookies.

      • Will do. Thanks.

  • thanks. booked in and also received the confirmation of the rewards.

  • Do I have to pay with credit card? Can I use a debit card? Just making sure since so many people seem to not get there cashback due to tiny things

    • Doesn't matter. Used both and both worked. AmEx is the only one specifically mentioned to be excluded from working in the T&Cs however even with that it appears to be fine if you make payment at the hotel directly.

  • Just to let you know, we’ve started processing your US$40 cash reward. We’ll confirm your stay with the property first and this normally takes 2 to 30 days.

We’ll be as quick as we can and once we have finished processing, we’ll send you another email on claiming your reward.

Anyone else get an email like this after staying? This one is from an earlier deal, it's been 2 weeks and still nothing. Previously was all paid within 1 week of check-out

    • got that email too. mine's been 3 weeks and still nothing

  • Working again as of 13/12, thanks to tranter for noticing.

  • is this mean max cashback usd $40 ?

also how about this term " Participants must be 18 years of age and older. Persons from the US states of New Mexico and Hawaii, as well as employees of The Priceline Group Inc. and its affiliates, are excluded from participation." ?

    • It means $40 cashback, no less, no more.

also how about this term "

Don't think any of that would apply to most people on this site.

  • How does the 'cashback' to credit card (or master debit card is what i have) , how does it work when i go onto some listings such as Byron Bay arts factory backpackers, and it says not to pay in advance with card .
Ie. Wouldn't I need to pay with mastercard debit, in order to recieve cashback onto mastercard debit ?
I could pay when I arrive at the backpacker hostel, then use my mastercard debit card at that time.
Sorry, Ive never used this before, maybe Im missing something about doing booking through this hotels site, like do i pay on arrival, but through the app or website somehow.

    • You'll still have to put in a card to book despite not having to pay.

      • Thanks, .
So I put in card details to book, but it tells me not to pay yet.
Do i pay via the app when I arrive ?
Or just pay the backpackers hostel at counter with cash like I normaly would ?

Thanks very much for the info

        • Or just pay the backpackers hostel at counter with cash like I normaly would ?

          This.

        • +1

It doesn't really matter how you pay at the hotel (card or cash). I've paid with one credit card and had the cashback paid to a different card. The main thing is to have the credit card (or debit card) you want the cashback paid to saved in the credit card section of Settings in your booking.com account.

        • @tranter:
Thanks very much for the info an confirmation.
I was thinking along the lines of the many partial refunds I have received through ebay. Where they can refund half, back onto card, through 'original payment method'.

  • Do I need to make new account to get this? Or can I just use exising account?

    • Existing one's work, as long as you haven't use this offer before from that account.

  • I already booked one with this offer yesterday, and I would like to cancel it and book somewhere else. Will I lose the cashback?

    • +1

Can't say for sure. It may be ok to cancel and rebook but there is risk you won't get the cashback. Safest way is to use another account to make the new booking.

  • Offer banner says 40 off 80 then reverts to 200. Made a booking at 84 USD and didn’t get confirm on booking screen or email.

    On mobile says min 200

Email no mention of cashback like before

    • I made a booking a day or so ago with no issues.

I would cancel the booking, then clear browser cookies and cache and try again.

You might have to use another account to rebook just to be safe as the promotion can only be used once per account.

      • New account new browser/computer

        • No just another booking.com account.

        • @tranter: mate it’s expired

        • @hj0809:

Promo is still working for me.

You can also try opening promo link in a private browser tab.

        • @tranter: try make a booking to the end and screenshot please

        • @hj0809:

Looks like it's $200 USD minimum spend now.

        • @tranter: mark as expired thx

        • @hj0809:

I can't do it myself, have reported it expired.

  • Is it confirmed not to working as the banner is still showing….
If I book all the way through, I don't be able to cancel as my accommodation is non refundable?

    • It'll work if you spend minimum $200 USD (previously $80 USD).

You'll know if it's working, there are 2-3 confirmations during the booking process regarding the cashback.

  • Got my cashback
