  • No multistop = no deal for me :)

  • +1

760 from Sydney is freaking expensive mate.

    • So true. Have seen virgin and Qantas for sub $600 quite regularly.

    • +1

Only cheap from MEL - either excess capacity there or Cathay are trying to encourage Virgin Australia to give it up.

  • Good prices, but last time I bought from Cathay directly, I could not check in online. It threw some weird error. I had to make multiple phone calls to their call centre at the weirdest possible times (including midnight), and all they could tell me was "just go to the airport, it will probably be alright".

I hope they fixed their systems in the meantime.

Service on board is always good though.

    • Last time I bought a Cathay special fare I could not choose a seat until I checked in online, 48 hours prior to the flight. We ended up in less than desirable seats.

      • It is common that you have to pay more to reserve a seat early. Most airlines do that….
But at least you could check in. We didn't even know for sure whether we would be travelling!

        • Didn't have the option of paying to choose a seat, on the special fare we could not choose until check-in.

There is 'economy' class, and then there is 'steerage' class. Or so it seemed.

  • cheapest is $9xx

  • Dammed if I can find any out of CNS its all BS.
