It's a coincidence as I had this coupon prior to your deal going live.

Also gives those a chance who missed out on yours to get one :)

  • How many times can we use the coupon? :)

    • It's 1 per order.

      • +1

        Thankyou for an awesome deal!

  • Thanks OP - picked up a couple and got the option to choose Registered Airmail for no extra cost (not sure if this is normal though).

    Warning about Geekbuying priority shipping.
I ordered a phone and selected 5-8 days shipping but one month later tracking shows it is still in Hong Kong.
Their sale support now tells me it can take 2-3 months to arrive, just wait and don’t bother them.

    • Shoot me a PM with your order number and I'll find out what's happened.

      • Shot you a PM, please see if you can help. Support (Grace) consistently responded that “the customer should wait patiently and it’s a basic rule”.

        • +2

sounds like you need to make a paypal dispute if Clear can't help you.

  • C'mon,I need wifi socket

Can someone fill me in on the difference between a zigbee and a non-zigbee version?
I feel like such a technologically retarded dad.

    • It's in the description. First paragraph

    • +1

zigbee = uses less power but needs gateway to talk to it. Zigbee version can track power usage. Xiaomi gateway costs ~$35, it works really well with other sensors.

      • Oh so you can't use the Zigbee version unless you also buy the gateway??

        • +1

yep. not ideal iif you only want this power socket
But the gateway allows for lots of other sensors (motion, temp, door, camera, etc) which you can get alerts for & even trigger events. e.g. setup to turn on a heat when the temp falls below 20oC. Or email a photo when the motion sensor is activated.

  • Uhhhh I really want the black soocare x3 but it doesn’t seem to be available :(

  • Any deals on some toothbrush heads for the new model?

    • Any deals on the Mi Band 2 please. They'll make great, inexpensive gifts

    • White or Black?

  • Pls pm me if there is new code.

    • Sent :)

  • Dang it missed this one too!

  • Awww missed out too.

Probably should mark the "Xiaomi Smart WiFi Socket" as "expired" in the title. I've clicked on this post about 5 times already since last night hoping that it was a new deal for them. :(

    • I've hit the character limit and the mods really don't like us changing the titles much.

I'm hoping to have more stock available this afternoon.

      • +4

I agree. Can you update the title and make a new post for the Smart WiFi socket if you get more? It's really annoying clicking through all the time and it's still expired.

        • +1

Reps have posting limits so I wouldn't be able to until next week. The other issue is it's been less than a month since it's expired so the mods would remove the new post as it'd be a duplicate.

You'll see an orange box saying Updated when the post is edited. You could also subscribe to the post to be notified about new comments.

        • @Clear:

If you get more stock, let us know and we'll sticky this to the front page.

You could also PM fybre, Afrozenminute and hugohugo before.

        • @neil: Good idea! Thanks.

      • Refresh refresh refresh…

    • I've updated it and removed a few characters.

  • Will the zigbee socket worth with veraplus? Or only xiaomi smart hubs?

  • +2

Please mark socket as expired. If you get more stock, remove the expired mark.

    • I've added expired next to the expired product and removed a few characters.

  • I have a lot of these but can't find the power graph anywhere. Are you sure this logs power consumption?

    • -1

Maybe you got the wifi version.

      • There's only one version, the old wifi only with usb charging port which you can't buy anywhere. No stock for over a year and a half now. Not in production.

Or the new and only stocked version which is wifi zigbee and comes with no usb charging port.

        • +1

Three versions total. The original WiFi version with the USB socket, the newer smaller WiFi version without USB and this Zigbee version.

        • @Clear: This is very confusing because it says wifi zigbee in your title. So is it wifi, zigbee or both?

        • @supersabroso: it's ZigBee.

        • @Clear:
Will this zigbee work with veraplus or only xiaomi hub?

        • @madturbo123: I did some Googling and it looks like Veraplus does not support Xiaomi Zigbee devices. So it'll require the Xiaomi Gateway.

  • Please socket expired in the title. To stop me keep coming back hoping it is back in stock…..

  • Which Xioami server will this work with ??
I have a robot vacuum and air filter that work on SG nut a light globe that only works with CN and therefore the app is kinda useless.
    Any clues appreciated.

    • +1

China for the gateway. Just pair the vacuum to the china server.

      • +1

Get home Assistant then you don't need to rely on cloud servers. Keep it all local

  • Does this socket work with Google Home?

    • Not natively.

  • It's back

  • +6

As requested more stock has been allocated. Enjoy!

    • Thank you.

    • can you add more please? didn't seem to last very long!

    • Seems to be gone.

  • Was it the Aussie version?

  • Got 6 sockets, thanks

  • got 4 sockets thanks!

PS: I've currently set locale to china mainland in mi home app, but what's the problem with setting locale to other? what do you miss out on? (Currently I have 1x gateway, 1x switch, 1x human body sensor, 1x door sensor, 1x socket.

    • +2

China locale gives you access to pretty much all devices while all the others are limited to a few devices that are available in that country.

      • +3

        Sold out again? 🙄

    • you ass**** would have been happy with 1.

  • +4

Seems to be sold out again.

    • +2

      Can't even get one :(

  • +2

    gone again… so quick??

  • Thanks got mine..😀

  • +3

Damn missed it again!! “This coupon code has ultimately reached the limitation usage times.”

    • +2

      missed out again

    • are these coupon codes taking the piss? why bother publishing this deal when all it does it fishing. Mods should look into this as its pretty prevalent lately.

      • +1

Nothing malicious happening here. Hundreds of them have been sold.

        • i'd really appreciate it if you could help us get more stock allocated for the deal :)

  • Has anyone used the WiFi Socket to run a window rattler style air conditioner?

The power often goes out here. Although my aircon has digital keypad instead of a manual switch, it still turns back on when the power comes back on, if it was running when the power went off. So… This WiFi socket should also turn the air conditioner on and off.

However I've used several 240V timers to turn the air conditioner off late on hot nights while I'm sleeping. And they quickly burn out and stop working, even though the air conditioner only has a 10A plug.

SO I'm wondering if the WiFi socket would burn out too. So yeah, has anyone used one for this purpose?

    • Were they mechanical push the pins in type timers? If so the they were probably arching across the contacts. These are solid state so shouldn't burn out. FYI just because something has a 10amp plug on it doesn't mean it draws less than 10amps. Check the sticker on the unit.

      • Yeah - they were - and that's what I figured was happening. I forget now, but I do remember working out current draw in the past and being surprised how little it was. (I think it was about 4A, but I'm not sure.) Obviously it's the initial switch on, and thermostat cycling on/off though that would create the arcing.

    • they have one for the aircon. with builtin zigbee gateway.
